For while loop conditional Terminal

My conditional terminal is buried behind a State event structure and I can't figure out how to access it so I can wire the stop button.  I don't want the structure of the State event because it would have its many shift registers.

Thanks for the comments, I just tried to change everything in a loop in a loop and then again to a while loop and he put the conditional Terminal in the lower right.  Problem solved.

  • in what version of labview the ' stop if true ' condition become available for while loops?

The answer to this question would mainly just my own curiosity, although it would also help to explain why some LabVIEW programs I have others that have been written in previous versions have strange as constructions invert a Boolean condition before it is wired to the 'continue if true' (when obviously they could have just wired the condition directly to a ' stop if true ').

Not sure 100% but he could LV 6. I 6i on a virtual machine and it's there, and I don't remember having this feature available in LabVIEW 5.

  • while loop: delay enforcement and continuous updated: VI back to fake out of time?

    Hi all

I want to control the time of execution of a while loop. I want the user to have the ability to decide how long he wants to run the while loop. The while loop is used to update certain values, then it should run continuously, not only run once and wait (that I could easily using the synchronization functions).

I used the time up VI as suggested in this post:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/how-to-create-a-time-control-for-while-loop/m-p/2530212/highlight/FA...

and works well, but the while loops are integrated into another loop for and when Goes to the next iteration, the elapsed time Boolean result is set to true and it does not run at all (I think that's the problem).

Can I return the Boolean result of the elapsed time VI to false, after reaching the target of time? That would solve my problem, I think that...

I attach some of my VI, although I don't know that it could be useful for you...

    Thanks for your help

Use the iteration for while loops count and an equal to zero? node.  Then the output of the comparison at the entrance to reset the elapsed time functions.  The idea is that reset you on the first iteration (when I = 0).

  • For loop within a while loop

I have for loop within a while loop... admission to the for loop N comes from the VI selection... the while loop I a condition essentially statement it stops just after to finish all the iteration in loop...

Entrance to the N loop is bascially driven by a local variable... that's the problem Iam having:

When I press the Start button to run the program... regardless of the output of the select VI is gives the N of the for loop, then the loop starts and then ends in place... and when the output of the select statement takes a different value (the N of the loop for) loop not work until I restart the program again... What can I do so that the for loop runs again for another value of N, the RUN program button is enabled.

    1. clean your diagram.  Style guides suggest keep the pattern of a single screen.  With a little effort, I was able to get your DB less than 1600 x 1000 pixels.

2 then I can see (some) it happens all at once. This thing does nothing?

    3. local variables can lead to race conditions.  Output in Angle position may be a race condition, although is probably not what you wanted to do.  What does the wired local time at the moment present terminal meter? (Ooops! Two controls with the same name - which can be quite confusing as well!)  If you need or want two components of façade having the same text, use the legends.  Make the labels is different so the comic is more readable.

    4. having more than one Dequeue function on the same queue will lead to unpredictable results.  When an item is removed, it is removed from the queue and is not accessible to any other Dequeue function.  In parallel loops, you have no way of guessing which Dequeue will seize any particular element.

5 use Boolean reverse instead of Select with wired False to true and true cable at the entrance to false entry. Better, just make the case of forgery in the structure of the case within the for loop the real deal. No required reversal.

    6. I was not looking for to determine the logic of the code within the structure of this case. It seems I could have posted a much simpler way to do this several weeks ago.

    7. use multiply from the Digital Palette rather than a node form multiply by 4 or 1.8. Uses less space BD and is much easier to read.

    8. as has been suggested, learn how to work the machine architecture and the State of producer/consumer.  They can make your life much easier.  Do not try to convert immediately to these models.   It's too much bite to at some point.  Learn how they work first.  Make a few simple examples.  Then rewrite this program in this format.  Probably faster than fixing what you have now.

  • How to run a while loop continuously without iterate loop inside the fi, a condition is met

I enclose a VI that once the answer 28 comes the loop must stop and loop should continue an iteration. Can you show me a way for her

You can stop the loop when a certain condition occurs: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvhowto/add_cond_to_for_loop/

Add a register to offset for the while loop and to implement the feature as below:

  • for loop nested within a while loop

I wrote a data logging VI to get data from a data acquisition, then write on a worksheet. It worked well. What I'm trying to do now and I am having problems is to place that vi within a while loop that will automatically write a new file name after the loop For ends its iterations. In a text based program when the loop finished I would just send it to the while loop for her write the new file name, and then run the loop data collection and spreadsheet iterations of writing.  Here is the general outline of the operations of the program.

Set the file name and path based on iterations of the loop (eventually this will be the date and time)

run to the loop for the specified iterations:

    read DAQ

write data to a .csv spreadsheet

    In specified iterations are more:

    new name of file writley

    Rerun the loop for

Repeat this until you press stop

What actually happens is the file name and path are established, the loop runs through its iterations, but wrote that the last set of data and then the program stops.

    any ideas?  Program attached

Don't know about the termination of the program. I replaced the methods with a random number generator and everything seemed good environment according to the writing of worksheet to add instead of create a new file each time that work.

p.s., cleaned up the wiring to make it readable - counties of cleanliness.

  • To count the number of while loops, you just attach a DBL indicator for the little that I framed in the while loop of the program?

I followed just one example in a book as while loops and I want to just make sure that I haven't missed something simple. My program is attached

    Hi type'ssteel,

I can't open your vi at the moment, but as you say, you can use the terminal i. For iterations, you must add 1 to it. I start with 0.

  • loop for and while loop with empty table entry

    Hello

I have a question with loop and loop.

When a constant empty array (zero element) is connected to the loop For with "allowing the index", there are no interactions performed in loop For. But, if the loop is replaced by any loop, no problem.

    LabVIEW 2010

    Hello

It is ok. I have no problem at all.

For the 'loop' For when you connect the table thanks to indexing, the number of iterations is set to the size of the array. The iteration number assigned to N (in your case 10) is ignored.

For the 'While' loop the number of iteration is defined by the Boolean Condition and the size of the array is ignored.

  • How to increase code efficiency in a while loop (using PXI5105 for sampling outside signal digitalizer)

Theoretically, we want the PXI-5105 (digitizer) have 302 record with each record has a 1260 sample (the save operation is inside a while loop) in approximately 30ms, however we have found that for each period (30ms), the PXI5105 only perform about 10 records. It is so wired. I wonder if the operations inside the while loop consume more time (for example 3MS), so that he cannot have 302 records even the PXI-5105 have 60 M/s speed of sampling. Is it true, you can find my labview code and if possible can you give me some suggestion in the most short time of operation of the loop.

    Please find attached labview code.

    Hi g_l_g_s,

The digitizer PXI-5105 acquires data at the speed that you specify and stores the data in its memory embedded (up to 512 MB). The data is then sent to your computer when the Multi Fetch Cluster.vi is called. In VI that you posted, you are only fetch record during each while the loop iteration. If you want to retrieve 302 records you will need to specify 302 files in the horizontal Timing.vi to configure. For more information about scanners, you might find the DevZone, hereuseful.

To determine the amount of time it takes for each while the loop iteration, you can consider using the structure of code in the example comparison community calendar, which is located here.

  • While loop, wait for the function and the stop button!

    Hello

I have a while loop and a stop button. Inside my While loop - I have a 'Wait (x ms)' function. If I press the stop button, it does not block the program immediately, he expects ms x then stops the program. How can I get rid of this?

  • Time for a while loop to run once

    Hello guys,.

I want to measure the time for a while loop to run once. There is a piece of code raised. So I just created a simple VI to try, please let me know which is the right way to do it?

And I wondered, when I run the VI without highlighting the execution, he wouldn't give me a number, maybe it's because the code is simple and really fast? I have to highlight all the time?

    Thank you

Not quite right.  Both get primitive value time will run at the same time.  use an image sequence to force the order of execution, as shown.  I also brought in the relitve of accuracy seconds vi of VI. LIB\utilities because it depends on the clock of the system rather than the mSec timer accuracy.

  • How to create a control of time for the while loop?

    Hi all

I want to control my time running of the loop. In other words, I want to stop everything in the execution of the loop after a time (in ms) that is defined by the user. For example user defines Control Panel for 5 seconds before a while loop runs and stops after 5 seconds.

I don't know is it possible with the while loop. I managed with the timed loop, but this must be wrong with my application. Y at - it of the other loops for timed control if it is not possible with while loop? There is also a simple loop with .vi random number (0-1) as an attachment.

    Best regards

    Hi again,

I managed to solve my problem right after I posted my first message. I did it with the passage of time and the register shift (for the elapsed time of reset).

    Thanks for your replies anyway!

  • For results outside the while loop

    Dear friends,

I have a while loop vi, which is attached to this mail. I want to update Boolean Boolean results, while the while loop runs. In fact this is not the case?

Do I need to use it as a global variable or another simple method to do? Could you please guide me, or please alter the VI of the sample which is attached to this mail.

    Thank you

    Best regards

    Tom

The Boolean value outside of the loop only will be updated, as wiring system, when the loop ends, it's how the LabVIEW data flow. The simplest method for updating the Boolean value outside of the loop is to unplug the wire, create a local variable (right click on the device, select 'create', 'Local Variable'), move the room inside the loop and hook it up to your function "equal." This is not necessarily the best method, just the easiest for this example.

  • How to run a while loop for 0.5 seconds?

    Hello

I am doing a project and I'm stuck with the programming.

Some time ago in a loop inside a box structure. When the real state of a structure box is enabled, the loop inside, should run for 0.5 seconds. How do this?

    Thanks in advance.

Why you want to run a while loop? what you do inside that? If you want to perform any operation for a specific time, you can use a loop for.

  • Is it possible to execute a loop For independently within a while loop in LabVIEW 2013?

In my program, I want to run a loop For inside a while loop and run independently, at their own rate of execution.  A test, I wrote a simple VI with a while loop with 1 second calendar and in this I inserted a loop For with 3 of a second.  I created indicators for the two terminals of the iteration.  When executing the VI, I found the while loop waiting for loop For run N times before the while loop is executed again.  I also found that sometimes the first iteration of the loop For ends at 1 second instead of 3 seconds and the STOP button to complete execution of the While loop does not always work.

This is the expected behavior. LabVIEW is the language of s DATA stream. If you want the curls to be independent, it can be data forcing addictive so use separate loops.
