Format memory read buffer series

I'm receives the DATA from the RX buffer of my Instrument series.

My program must analyze these DATA.

My indicator buffer string is: \02K=2\r\n\03 Normal display

However, what I owe to the reception so are contributing to my analysis under is: 024B3D330D0A03 Normal display

Please advice, thank you.

  • Serial port empty read buffer

Hello everyone. I'm currently programming a vi that takes an input of a device in series string and parses this string. The only question that I have is that (probably) between readings, when the buffer is empty, the vi will be parse this buffer empty and returns the error message because the empty string now is not consistent with the standard chain which is expected. How can I go about fixing, assuming that I have correctly interpreted the source of the error?

Edit: I wanted to add that snub research tips that suggest to set Visa following control to synchronous. This does not seem to have made a difference.

Edit 2: Attached the vi as well. Here's what's happening. The device currently playing is an infrared thermometer that has an operational range of 550-3000. When the temperature is less than 550, the output is 'HCC - U -'. This output ends with a carriage return and line feed. When the tempartue is greater than 550, the output is "HUCxxxx" where the x's represent numbers. This string is the reading and analysis. If the Supreme Constitutional Court is found, he's looking for then "- U -'. If found, it appears. Otherwise, "ERROR" is displayed. In the case where HUC, 4 characters after it are displayed and represented graphically.

To observe what is happening, I have a text box to display the contents of the read buffer, then another to view the parsed string. There is a final text box (output channel 2) which indicates the temperature should register a numeric value. I also threw in a led that lights when the string analysis properly and turns off if the "ERROR" is displayed.

Here's what happens: when the temperature is below 550, I first see HCC - U - in the view of the read buffer -, U-on the screen crawled and my light. Then, probably the buffer is empty because I see the empty screen, the analysis screen displays ERROR and the led turns off.

  • difference between VISA READ buffer and chain

Hello I'm just starting to use the VISA read and write the function in labVIEW

everyone knows what are the degree between reading VISA and the string buffer? and the comparison of the VISA Write buffer and chain

    Thank you

    Ein salvation,

"read buffer" is the string given by VISAReadlabel, "write buffer" is the label of the string that is expected by VISAWrite!

    There is no difference...

  • DAQ Hanging Up and surveillance read buffer system

    Hi all

I'm collecting data using two SCXI hunts with amplification modules 1120 SCXI 1112 thermocouple modules.

I'm followed by entry 12 and 4 inputs for thermocouple voltages.

I put the samp, the 2500 s/s e rate, and I let the software understand how many samples for each step.

Most of the time, the system works well, in a time of 16ms loop.  However, every few seconds, the system will hang up to ~ 500ms between readings.  Any thoughts on what might cause these crashes?

I wonder if I'm overflow the buffer.  What could cause this type of behavior?  I think that there is a way to monitor the read buffer, but I forgot how do.  Can someone tell me how to do this?

    Thank you very much.

You can monitor the buffer using the DAQmx read property node and choose the status-> samples available per channel.

  • Visa read doesnot see the output of the read buffer

    Hello

I can make a stupid mistake, but my read buffer doesnot show any output in the indicator, it shows only 1. I enclose the alongwith VI. Please help me here, because I'm really stuck. Thanks in advance.

Guyz thanks for your answers, they are very useful. I removed the bytes to the port and a number of bytes to 8 in the read VISA seems to give me the result. I must confess that I had to change the chain of command of writing too, as it was incorrect. It isn't FPOP but spreading. Now I can read the data. Guyz thanks once again.

  • HOW TO READ DATA SERIES WITH SYNCHRONIZATION

I have a question about my application for the acquisition of data in series. In my application, I use visa read to acquire data series sent by an inertial measurement unit. When I first put the sensor, it sends data in the following one time format:

1:0 x 8011 header followed 1 data word for Adler, 1 data word (each 16-bit word data).

and the sensor then starts sending the data in the following format:

2:0x7FFF header followed 1 data word for checksum, 9 data word (each 16-bit word data).

(Note: checksum is defined as a 2s - complement of the sum of 16 bits of the rest of the entire message)

In my application, to simplify the problem, I use a wait function to ensure that the initial data header 1 tag is sent. Then I start reading using VISA Read 20 bytes (header 2 more words of associated data are 20 bytes), as I'm mainly interested in the data header 2 tag words.

However, when I do this, the data that I get do not begin by 7FFF character and, accordingly, my 20-byte data cannot be parsed correctly. My question is how can I do the "VISA read" block read the serial port when data are preceded by '7FFF '.  Once I have solve this part, my strategy will be assembled data read 20 bytes (including the header of 4 bytes) and analyzed accordingly.

Another question, I wonder if you can tell me how to use the given checksum it is defined as "a s 2 - complement of the sum of 16 bits of the rest of the entire message". Note the data that contains the header 1 tag is 1 post.

I would appreciate if you have responded to my request.

    Thank you!

  • What is the best way to read data series high speed?

My goal is to read 14 bytes of binary data of an instrument on the serial RS232 (460800 baud) to 2000 Hz. I didn't get a card series high speed again so I am currently using the standard serial port (115200 baud) and reading at 400 Hz I have configure the port series, empty the buffer, and then enter a while loop to read incoming data. I have a visa 14 bytes read by interation seconds 0.0025 (400 Hz). However it seems that the sensor is spewing data faster that labview can read because the bytes are accumilating in the port. After some time the buffer fills and the program fails.

Is there a better way to do it?

Would it not be better to read the larger quantities of data less often, for example as 1400 bytes every 0.25 seconds?

    Thank you

    Hello

I think it would be good to read several points in a loop, and keep the loop less than 1000 Hz.  I found in the past, have something to run faster than about 10ms tends to fall down when windows loses interest in the process.  So yes, choose the slower you can get away with reading samples - for example to read every 10ms and read 20 samples every time. You should be able to configure your serial port in order to buffer the samples that I guess.

Also and the issue of windows - if you use a loop "timed" instead of a while loop, so you can force it to an integer value including the ms.  You can also assign a dedicated processor and set the priority to 100, which means that it is less likely to elapse and decide to scan your hard drive for viruses or consult your account e-mail or what he does when he's bored with your program.  Also it "' tells you if the loop has taken longer that planned to run - you can use this to help iron out bugs etc. - report and/or to the user if you missed a few samples.

  • format memory card error

My operating system is Windows Xp. When I format my memory card, they say that windows could not complete the format, what is the solution for this?

    Hi naveenmothe89,

Welcome to Microsoft communities. According to the description of the problem, you are not able to format the memory card.

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         The question is limited to this device?

I suggest you to format the card from disk management. Follow these steps:

    (a) click Start and select Control Panel.

    (b) click on Administrative Tools and then click computer management.

    (c) click on disk management and find the device in the viewer of the reader.

    (d) right click on the drive and select format.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more assistance.

    Thank you.

  • Problem of having to re - blackBerry Smartphones format memory to use Blackberry 8330 as mass storage device

So I created it for my BB Curve 8330 (Verizon Wireless service) last night.

    • I formatted the 2 GB micro SD card
    • I changed the drive letter to avoid a conflict
    • I have all the latest updates I know from this announcement. (4.5.0.77 on the phone itself)
    • List of media cards: support 'on', 'none', Mode of mass storage card encryption mode 'on', scoped the mass storage mode when connected to 'yes '.

Everything was fine. Even had a few tunes out there to jam to.

Not even 24 hours later, I wanted to add more music and photos to personalize the BB more far. So I plug it into the PC but my computer Vista OS won't let me access the memory card. The BB has popped up on the list of drives, but if I click it, it says I need to insert a memory card into the mass storage device.

I go to the BB Desktop Manager and go to the media. I have almost the same question.

Even with a pop of the battery, check the memory card using a card reader (card is good) and the reintegration of the memory card, the problem persisted. I had to re - format the memory card on the BB again (to wipe everything), and then when I plugged in the USB cord, I could access the card again in the mass storage device.

Reformatting was not a big deal since it's not like anything on the card has not been already saved elsewhere. However, I really don't want to have to do that on a regular basis. I understand the technology hiccups every now and then, but if I have to do every time, it's going to be a pain in the rear.

So all that being said, is there something that I forgot that I need to check or trouble so I don't have to constantly re - format my memory card and re-load all on it? I have tried to do everything that I could think of and I tried searching these forums very, but I had no luck (or did not use the appropriate search string) in the generation of responses.

A card microSDHC fixed the problem. The old card memory, I got in it was a regular 2GB microSD card. I bought a 4 GB microSDHC card and the problems no longer exist.

I wanted to get a card greater new anyway, so I'm glad that all worked where I didn't have to do anything unwanted. The old card memory is great; It would be not just works perfectly in my Blackberry. I'll give it to the lovely lady of the House, who can update the 1 GB card in her phone.

  • Error format memory card blackBerry Smartphones

Hi all, I have a curve 8520 it came with 2 GB memory card it was it was working fine, I have been I have the memory card and reinsert the memory card after about 10 to 15 minutes on reinsert the memory card, I got an error indicating "media card can not be read.verify this memory card is formatted ' now in the menu , I have 2 options of those who are 'install media card' and 'format' choosing 'install Media card' there is nothing happens and by selecting "format" I get an error message indicating "format media card failed" could someone please help me. Thank you Abdul samad

What method of formatting you used? FAT or FAT32? I think that FAT32 is the correct way to format your computer.

  • The data buffer series before transmitting

Hello, I'm relatively new to LabVIEW and had a question about how buffer data to the serial port before transmitting. I've attached what I have so far for a VI, and that's how I expected to work.

    1. Read in hexadecimal string (example: 001122334455)
    2. For loop repeats for half the length of the chain because I am transmitting into blocks of size bytes (example: 6F)
    3. Read the first byte of the ascii string and converts it to hexadecimal equivalent byte and transmits.
    4. Repeats until the chain is completed.

Basically, I need to place a buffer that fills up my time loop ends then all the data at once. At the moment there is enough of delays between each loop causes errors.

    Any suggestions?

Do you mean the while loop or loop for? In the picture, you put the note that you need a buffer inside the loop for, loop not quite awhile. The amount of calculations going on inside this loop is so small that I can't imagine how it is at the origin of the delays, but you can easily replace it to transmit an entire string at a time. Put Scripture VISA outside the loop for. wire the output channel of the conversion at the border of the loop for, creating a tunnel. Connect the output of this tunnel to concatenate strings, which will combine an array of strings into a single string. Then connect to the entry VISA.

EDIT: even better, get rid of the conversion, the U8 to wire directly for the edge of the loop, use the byte array to a string to be converted to a string, send this string to Write VISA. There is probably an even easier approach, but I'm not looking too carefully.

  • 3rd reading machine series

    Hello

I'm trying to contact a 3rd party device, a tester of smoke for trucks, using series read in LabView. I have attached the dokument command parameters. I use the parameters of diesel on page 9. I can't get sensitive information. There is no byte to port when running the program. But once I had 6 bytes to the port that runs the code. This happens only once. See the image as an attachment. I' will also joined the code.

    Can someone help me?

  • NiDAQmx limits the maximum number of analog samples which can be read / buffer?

I try all the time on a USB-6363 to 1000 Hz 2 channels analog samples.  Everything works until I have started to increase the number of samples to read only once in DAQmxReadAnalogF64().

I have set up the buffer in DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming() like twice the amount of samples, I want to read at some point.

Up to about 8000 samples (128 000 bytes: sizeof (double) x 8000 x 2ch) it works and read call returns without delay once all about 8 seconds.  Increasing the number of samples other than that, I can no longer read the data (the DAQmxReadAnalogF64() always holler times).

Question: am I running in a limit on the maximum number of samples that can be read or buffered... maybe a DMA limit any?  What determines how big you can make the buffer in DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming()?

Maybe it's not obvious, according to the documentation, but if you look at the output value of the parameter samples per channel function DAQmxReadAnalogF64 reading, you'll see that when it times out, he reads what was available when it has expired. So if you're always calling this function, and your timeout value is too short, then you'll always be timeout, but you will always catch all samples. You can view this as the function will return when the buffer is full, or the timeout is reached. That's why we have provided an exit indicating the number of samples read.

As a general rule, ask not read like this with DAQmx. I would recommend registering a callback for EveryNSamples (there is an example that's bundled with the CVI on how to do this), or by specifying a longer period than what it will take to gather real that many samples (in your case, 8000 samples at 1 kHz would be > 8 seconds). The main problem with the polling stations with a short time-out is that you should ignore errors that is not recommended.

  • Read data series and detect the break in series at the same time

I need to communicate with a serial device that sends messages back, but also sends a break, break, break, break series combo that I need to listen to. I've never worked with before series breaks but the only VI I found which seems to detect pending VISA on event VI with the series Break parameter. I'm not sure that understand how I could detect a break in the series, but also to be reading and writing messages at the same time in the meantime. Isn't this possible?

If you use multiple loops, I think you can do.  You use 1 loop to check to see if there is data and 1 loop looking for breaks series.  Then use queues, authors of notifications or events to anyone who needs to know what you have experienced.
