  With respect to the examples in the documentation, it should be possible to combine normal paths with a nested path (see third example in the section Using nested_path_column: examples http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/SQLRF/functions092.htm#SQLRF56973)

  Seeing this error, I removed the backup:

  n is based on the number that I see in the backup from the list.
  
  Since then, I thought that set up channel might help, tried this but still getting the same error.

  Hi.There occur error because you used format(for backup) is a mistake. Because used this format, rman cannot generate a unique name for each backupset. RMAN create the first backup set using this format, then want to also eponymous and the error occur (backupsets cannot be the same name). You can use %U this guarantees uniqueness in
  generated backups.

  I suspect that your problem is illegal characters (' / ') in your path, certainly it is the case in your original vi. You need to format your path, something like this (underscore instead of a slash stroke):

  I don't know if anyone can really give you an opinion about which compression will have the best size vs time full report. But the next test by using a simple vanilla ORCL database shows the result of the compression of 'low '. It was done on sub Oracle 11 GR 2 one running a VirtualBox VM. As you can see there is a reduction of the large size of the backupset, which however has taken so long to complete as to the 'no' compression.

  I try to use PowerCLI to add a virtual machine to inventory.  I know the exact location and I am not having any questions see the file, I even checked the location using ls:

  This result seems to indicate that the vmx file path is correct, I try to add the file to the inventory using the following command:

  This property returns an invalid path error.  This should be simple to fix, but I do not see where I am going wrong.  Any ideas?

  Your formatting of path is incorrect, try this:

• Documentation and standby VCB

  Try to get the suspension of scripts to work in ESX 4 (ditto for 3.5 U4 incidentally), I discovered that the documentation is either incomplete, or simply incorrect.

  I speak only of virtual machines Windows here, but in several messages on this community and other forums, I see the same thing for Linux guests.

  The VCB backup guide says in 2 different places to freeze the scripts:

  -ESX 3.5 U2 pre: pre-antifreeze - script.bat and post-thaw - script.bat in c:\Windows

  -U2 3.5 and later: 1 single script that takes freeze and thaw as arguments, located in the program Vmware Tools directory, subdirectory backupscripts.d

  On the two ESX 4U1 and 3.5 U4, using VCB 1.5 U1, I had problems to freeze the scripts to work when you use the format of path and the script described in the documentation.

  In the hostd.log of the ESX host, I found entries that showed the C:\Windows\pre-freeze-script.bat starting, instead of the script, I expect, based on the documentation, so I put the scripts there, and they worked.

  So, what is everything?

  Is there someone who can provide accurate information on the use of scripts of gel, and where they should be put? (please don't point me to the documentation on the Vmware Web site, I read that and it is wrong, as I described above)

  It does make a difference if I installed Vmware VSS provider or not? (two cases I had the problem with, has no, and I have not tested in a virtual machine, it was still installed)

  The new location is only used if VSS is installed with VMware tools. In order to get a solution that works always place just a wrapper on the new location that points to the original scriptname remaining on the old rental (%windir%\System32). Please keep in mind that the current versions of VMware tools changed his installation on 64-bit windows path. So be sure that you create the folder "backupScript.d" in the right place and keep an eyes open if your upgrade tools where already implement you the sleep scripts.

  1. create the file 'backupScripts.d' in /path_wher_vmwaretools_installed/

  2. place the wrapper "vcb.bat" in "backupScripts.d".

  3. create the pre_freeze and post_thaw.bat files in c:\windows

  4. create 2 text files (vcb_msg_start.txt, vcb_msg_stop.txt) to send msg in c:\windows (only 3 attachments are allowed here)

  I have attached the files of my solution which has also written to a log file and also by e-mail [1] notify if you wish. You can test the current full thing with a "vcb.bat gel" and "vcb.bat thaw."

  blat.exe and sleep.exe is necessary for sending email from the command line

  I think you misunderstand concepts.

  (1) drop tablespace RTESTUSR including content and data files;

  worth a command, it removes the tablespace named the database. There is nothing wrong with the database (even if it may be a logical (human) error). Restoration is used to fix the failings of the media. RMAN is just: ' RMAN-06019: could not translate tablespace name 'RTESTUSR' ', since there is no such tablespace in the actual database, the restore/recovery process fails.

  (2) Unfortunately, you hide the version of your database. Up to 10 gr 2 tablespace point-in-time recovery can be used to retrieve the abandoned spaces, 11 GR 1 material and higher it is possible.
  And - TSPITR - requires a bit more than "set until...". ». Check the version of your unknown database will have.

• Paths created in PS CS5 and saved in a PNG format are not visible in PS CC

  I recently upgraded from PS CS5 PS CC. I noticed that paths created on images in CS5 will not display when the same images (saved as PNG) are open in PS CC. In addition, pathed images and recorded (in PNG) CC do NOT show the path is available once the backup is complete. Is it a PNG setting I'm missing? I used the same ones I used in CS5. Paths to other file formats do not appear to be carried out.

  Looks like you used to be able to record the paths in png on Mac only. But this feature has been removed in CS6. Here is the response from Chris Cox on similar issues:

  Photoshop CS5 would save some additional data in the resource fork, on Macintosh only, outside the normal file format data.

  Photoshop CS6 does not only and only put a few icons/thumbnails in the range of resources.

  Apple away ranges of resources (give up another competitive advantage), then we must also do away with resource forks.  This isn't a bug, it's just the reality, that we face trying to support MacOS.

  PNG format does not support data path, or most other metadata of image - just image data, metadata and color profiles very minimal.  This isn't a bug, it's just the nature of the PNG format.

• Text on a path not to export in PDF format

  This announcement, I'm just in case there is an easy solution, but I suspect that the architecture of a particular CS4 file is damaged in a weird way that only affects exporters text on a path in PDF format.

  Most of the examples of text on a path in this document will not export to PDF, and I have a suspicion that the problem may occur only after a certain number of page - but that is not confirmed. Tried anything that I don't gets me the text in an exported PDF, and that includes almost all the possible combinations of the export settings by changing the layers, masking layers, restoration OSX and reloading CS4.

  One thing can work: as a test, when I moved a page to a new document, text on a traced is exportable. I didn't have no more in that direction immediately, in the case where there is a difficulty that is easier than moving 813 pages at once, which crashes CS4 when I tried it.

  Any suggestions?

  First, if a file already exists when I want to write in it and I chose 'Replace the file', he says stop and double track.

  Just for reference, I solved it by using the match VI pattern in a loop and then using the table of indexes for individual values.

• weird path formats

  sometimes in the registry or in the handles dealing opened, I see the path names that appear invalid.  something like \device\harddiskvolume1\windows\system32 or something. I've also seen------? -added example before a path name \? \C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\mup.sys. Once again, it was a process that was run from a path like that. or in the boot.ini multi (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS. I tried to change the directory in the command prompt to these but he says they are not valid. What are these strange directories and paths and why I can't access it?

  It is a path of the NT namespace object manager.  All Windows resources are 'objects', these objects are created and controlled by the object manager which is part of the Windows Executive.  The object manager place objects of the same type in the same namespace to make it easier to find, a bit like in the same way that files are placed on a disk, or sort of how would organize you a tool chest, a namespace is a container.  \?? ------(ditto GLOBAL?) is the where are saved the \DosDevices, \DosDevices namespace is a symlink (shortcut) to the--------? ------namespace.

  Thus, for example, C: is really a link to \DosDevices\C: that is a link to------? \C: who is usually a link to something like \Device\HardiskVolume1.  In fact, when you ask for the file:

  C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\mup.sys

  the operating system usually is looking:

  Device\HardiskVolume1\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\mup.sys.

  multi (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS is also a link to an object that is stored in the namespace ArcName which would point to the \Device\Hardisk0\Partition1 object.
