Formatting the main HARD drive and do a fresh install of the OS
Hi guys,.
I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro running Yosemite (10.10.2). I did not care on the data management since the day that I bought and now it's all over the place and a lot of unwanted files. I have backups time machine the main hard drive and I also backed up all important data on a separate hard drive.
My question is, is it possible that I can erase my entire hard drive and reinstall Yosemite (10.10.2)? The last time I tried to do this, my MacBook connected to the server and installed the latest OS (I guess it was time Cougar 10.8.4).) I don't want to update the OS because my Audio Interface has no drivers for what after 10.10.2.
I don't like on the data loss that I have multiple backups of all the files of important work, as well as backups time machine of the disk set. Thus, formatting everything is completely fine with me.
Thank you!

The only ways I know to reinstall 10.10.2 are:
- You have the initial download of 10.10 after Yosemite went out and created a USB this version thumb drive Installer. If so, you can start Setup from USB, delete your Macintosh HD, install 10.10 and after 10.10 is installed, you can download and run the 10.10.2 Combo Update to bring it up to 10.10.2.
- You have the 10.10.2 download after this version has been published and have created a USB this version thumb drive Installer. If so, you can start Setup from USB, wipe your hard drive Macintosh and install 10.10.2.
If you can't do or any of the foregoing, all what you can do then is start Recovery HD and install the latest version of Yosemite, which is 10.10.5. Even if the HD recovery may appear 10.10.2,"limited you will always get the most recent version of Yosemite. Without either of the above, there is no way that I know how to install an earlier version of Yosemite. Maybe you could ask a local Apple Store to see if they have a solution for 10.10.2.

How to reformat the hard drive and do a "clean" install
A recent virus attack, my computer has lost some files of the operating system. With the help of the Lim has provided the recovery disk, which offered ' upgrade/repair' or a 'new installation '. I chose ' install new ', actually I found many of my files are still there - that means that if a virus has escaped "Detection / removal" will always be there.
Question: How to reformat the hard drive and do a 'fresh install' on a clean hard disk "? ". (I have a drive to Win XP with service pack 3 and a driver disk for the hardware installed on my computer of the regulations.)

Since you have a Dell and a recovery CD and not a recovery Partition, check how many partitions you need by using disk management:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_management.htm
In case you have a partition with the operating system and a partition of the utility partition, I would only recommend formatting the partition from the OS. The Partition utility can be very useful.

I format windows XP and create the new partition on the HARD drive, then I reinstlled OS, but user not taken backup of .pst files, so now he asked because it is so it is possible to recover the .pst file from the HARD drive.
Hello Jacqueline.
You can probably recover some data if you do not have a full format. Search for recovery software after formatting or try a demo of databack link: http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm
Make sure that you do not make new files or download / copy anything on the hard drive to reduce the chances of the excessive write current .pst file.

Original title: How to I can't remove my 1st hard drive program files?
Basically, I got a new laptop for games with Windows 7 on it, and I know almost nothing about computers. So it all starts on my SSD (180 GB) and I want to move to my 2nd hard drive (750 GB) HHD. I want to keep windows and steam (platform game) on my SSD and move almost everything on my other hard drive. When I move everything on it works, but when I try and do a right-click and delete the programs or program filex (x 86) it says I don't have permission. So I give myself permission and ownership of the program files, but it does not work. I tried to remove anything that did not come on the computer and what I just said try again, but it still does not work. I have tried myself giving full ownership of readers, but it still does not work. He always tells me that I need permission from myself. Is any way for me to have my computer recognizes the HHD as the primary drive, and then I can move Windows and Steam my SSD? And all that would remove? (If yes let me know if I can put the drivers I have on a flash, so they are removed). Any help or advice would be great! Thanks for reading and you're time and effort!)
P. S.Do not forget that I know little to nothing about computers, so just assume I know nothing and give me instructions step by step, if it is possible.May peace be with you,AlexBasically, you can not, you need to uninstall the programs, then custom Setup to the location/reader of your choice, even in this case a lot of files will always be located on your windows disk.
When you install a program many entries are written to the registry, if you try to move a program, if you can, the registry entries will be incorrect then the program will stop working.

All the world done this before?

You don't mention if you are using a mac or windows computer...
When you format your hard drive everything above is completely erased.
When restore you, you restore your operating system only (I'm assuming that you are using the OS restore files don't not restore a backup, because if you restore from a backup then it is not a lot of sense... you will be restore all the crust, too). If you have a backup on an external drive and on a mac, if you have a time machine backup, you can restore the operating system, and then start time machine backup and restore all of your applications and your files (less the system settings) and you'll be in good shape. It may take a while, but it works very well.
If you use windows, there is probably a similar procedure, but you should get comfortable with it before formatting (in both cases).

Can I format HARD drive and reinstall Windows 7 on the Qosmio F60 without CD
I think my hard drive is faulty on my F60 Quosmio so I want to reformat the hard drive to see if that will fix it. But I don't have the original packaging and the information with me at the moment so I don't know if it came with a windows 7 CD or not. Whatever it is, I don't have the CD.
I found on the net that most manufacturer who deliver without CD include a "recovery partition" or "factory image partition" which you can access during startup. Anyone know if the F60 Quosmio comes with a CD or if she has this recovery partition or partition image factory? Or do you know if there is a way I can check if my computer is it?
If you have more information about the formatting of the hard drive and reinstall windows 7 without the CD please let me know.
Thank you.
The laptop came with a Windows disc, because there is a Toshiba recovery disc Creator called tool which create the recovery disk.
The recovery partition was available and it allows you to recover the laptop without the use of the recovery disk, but it does not work if the HARD drive has failed.

Note the devices installed in the machine. Use this information to download the latest version of the drivers and software for the manufacturer's Web site features (on another machine and store on an external support, I suppose, would be the only way for you to do.)
Uninstall the software/drivers for network devices. Turn it back on. Even if pilots are found/installed automatically, manually update the drivers & software using the files you downloaded earlier.
Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:
Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)
