  • Satellite L670: What purpose is it had ' drive for?

My L670 came pre-installed with two drives C and D.
Nothing in the user guide for how we should use these drives.
I suppose that there is a single physical disk with two equal partitions, but how can we tell?

On the D drive, I see there a sector recovery, but why the partition D so great?
Is it possible to use the D drive for stuff in general use?
Can be resized so that the D drive is not large enough for the recovery of data leaving a C drive?

    Any advice welcome.

    Cheers, Jerry.

    > I guess that there is a single physical disk with two equal partitions, but how can we tell?

It's true! There is a HARD drive that is partitioned into two partitions.
The C partition is the system partition containing the Win 7 OS and partition D contains image files and HARD drive recovery.

The image files are needed to create an own Toshiba Recovery disk (using a creator Toshiba recovery media). Drive recovery HARD helps you to recover the laptop without the use of such a disk recovery process can be started from the HARD drive. Of course, this is possible if the partition D will not change

If you want to change the size of the partition D, then I highly recommend to create a recovery disk before touching this partition!

  • How can I fix a code 43 error after you remove inadvertently an external had drive from a pc without proper ejection procedures? I'm far away from the pc, where it has been deleted and cannot go back.

The external hard drive is a Verbatim 53001

Maybe nothing to do with incorrect ejection.

In Device Manager there are all the yellow warnings?

If so, select the problem device, uninstall, reboot and see if that helps. (Outside must be disconnected during this process)

Since the minute I brought this laptop home a few days ago his had driver problems and toshiba service station was nothing more than a PITA, it has functioned and more than any other bloated software that comes with it... later, when 8.1 hoping that would fix a few probs, he made my situation worse driver...

in any case, I removed everything via a clean install (but the recovery partitions etc. to keep without danger left and made a recovery disc) anyway even after installation clean I I still miss the high definition Audio device driver in Device Manager, I get an exclamation next to him...

other pilots who were missing I had downloaded their drivers from the manufacture and they are all corrected accept this driver... I bekieve this is a realtek driver, that I went to the site and their latest driver did not help...

can someone please help find a working driver please, im trying my best to not send it back, but if I can't get its drivers working, then the hell with him, im send Monday morning and ask for a refund...

so please if someone can save me the hassle to request a refund, I would really appreciate...

    Thank you

    Hello

The laptop seems to be released for the Australian market.
I found the drivers Win 8.1 on the Australian Toshiba driver page, but only pilots of Windows 8.

However, it seems that the sound card was made by Realtek and Realtek HD audio Manager must be installed.

    Try this driver which was published on the page of the Toshiba UE driver for similar laptops models: [Realtek Semiconductor Corporation v 6.0.1.7023 8.1 - 64 Bit Windows | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 178 & selProduct = 7948 & selSh ortMod = null & language = 13 & selOS = 46 & selType = all & yearu pload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = a llMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = al l & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = all & page = 2 & ID = 88586 & OSI D = 46 &] driverLanguage = 42]

In general I recommend you to download and install drivers 64-bit Windows 8.1 to address common since the driver Toshiba UE page because these drivers are missing on the Australian rider Web site.

Recommends that you install the Intel and nVidia driver chipset driver because the HD audio can be linked to the chip nVidia graphics too.

  • What spare hard drive do I need? Thank you...

    Hello

Thank you for viewing my post. I really appreciate any input.

    I have a laptop Compaq Presario C306US

I need a new had drive and the recovery disc for this.

I was wondering, what replacement hard drive would be a better solution for it? Also, where can I get the recovery disc for the computer? I need them both.

    Thanks again for any help.

    Kind regards

    Stephen

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 5-7 for the removal and replacement of the drive hard. It uses the old IDE PATA aka to hard disks that are becoming hard to find. Unfortunately, they are also stupid expensive:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=9SIA0AJ17B5685

The least expensive is located at 4200 RPM 40 gig for $100. Above is a 60 GB 5400 RPM for $120. Frankly the laptop isn't worth much. I doubt that HP still has the recovery disc for him, but we can find a download of a version of Windows XP OEM and you should have a key Code for XP on it.

If HP is defined recovery you can get to it here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

  • No problem if I defragment my hard drive every week?

I do a lot of downloading and remove daily records, causing many fragments of hard drive.

Someone has suggestions about any problem if I defragment my hard drive every week?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

No problem for the traditional electromechanical drives.

For SSDS, you do not want to limit this frequency to something much smaller.

  • Why my hard drive frequently the race, for an extended intermittently?

My hard drive accelerates frequently (even when I'm not using it) and seems to be racing (for up to 30 minutes at a time). It seems that the computer is actively working on something and runs very slowly if I try to open Explorer or Outlook. The events come & go and can fluctuate quickly. It's driving me crazy. It's noisy and irritating. Don't know if it's a software is automatically updated (eg. Updates Windows or PC Tools antivirus). I did all the checks the system, etc. defragmented. The machine runs well between these events. System checks do not seem to identify all errors. A recent check by a technician after a blue screen error, identified faulty RAM, since replaced, but not other issues.

I suspect it has something to do with the analysis of the components of the PC Tools software in real time.  According to the options you have installed/enabled, you do not have to all or they are in competition with other things.

What is your version of XP and the Service Pack?

Do you have other AV tools installed such as McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, Comodo, etc..

You can temporarily disable PC Tools and see what things look like.

    You needn't Download Process Monitor.

You need to download Process Explorer from here:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653

You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it.  Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.

Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.

Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems.   You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future.  You can always run the original tasks as Manager.

Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window.  Now you can really see what is running on the system.

Here's a screenshot of my poor system when I use Process Explorer:

    http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2567/ProcessExplorer.PNG

The small window at the top right shows graphic things.  Each window is a different as rolling graph:

    CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
    Validation of the system
    Physical memory
    Network
    Disc
    E/S

Roll your mouse over each small window to see what it says that you can see what they are doing.  Double-click the window to make it bigger.

If your drive is too busy, look a peak in the disc window or double click it to make it bigger.  When you see a spike, you pass the mouse over it and it will tell you the process on your system that is the cause.

For the experience, when PE upward and running and things are settled down, choose Tools in the properties of your HARD drive and then scan your HARD drive for defragmentation.  You don't need actually to defragment the volume since that take too long - just it will analyze and watch the graph of disk in Explorer process for the tip.

When analyze you the volume for fragmentation, see the drive activity in process Explorer and hover your mouse over the edge and he'll say dfrgntfs.exe, so now you know that cause the Spike.

Close all applications that you don't need to your troubleshooting so that they don't clutter things, is PE up and running, let things settle down and wait for the fly and the outbreak in the graph of the disc, hover your mouse over the edge and find out who is the culprit.

  • Can I exchange the C: drive?

I have PC with XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I also have Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Professional running on it.  This is my work computer, so I don't want to have problems with it.

I ran disk cleanup and Disk Defragmenter last night. I have two hard drives on this desktop, which is my work computer.  Here is the result of fragmentation:

    C: drive capacity - 37,26 GB, free space - 7,76 GB, percentage free space - 20%.

    F: drive capacity - 112 GB, free space - 80,76 GB, percentage free space - 72%

NOTE: I did not define this PC upwards.

I moved everything I can think of the F: drive.  All my documents, pictures, data, CAD files, stored on the F: drive.  But all programs work on the C: drive.  Is there an EASY way to share things while I'm cramped for space?

I understand your situation. All I wanted to do was encourage you to plan ahead. My motto that I used when posting to the newsgroups Microsoft, now unfortunately is no longer available, was "interrogation, plan, execute".

I just was "forced" to abandon a Windows XP box and to migrate to a new computer. I could have bought a 32-bit computer and install Windows XP. Instead of standing still, I decided to make a great leap forward. Now I have Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit). This has created a lot of problems to solve. Much more than I enjoyed at the outset. However, it will be the right path for me, but I recognize that the establishment of such that the change is less easy for others.

One of my major problems was the use of hardware and software is more easily available and supported. In my case it was based on a 56 k Data / Fax modem. You can buy all of the printers and scanners incorporating a Fax, but I'm not a believer in "All in One" for a number of reasons. After reflection, I was moved some operations of the fax to send earlier. This experience illustrates how you can make 'free' changes and mitigate the inevitable problems when you do not upgrade.

I have two other suggestions of freeware for you to try. They just re-reading the second paragraph of your first post.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner but note that cCleaner will not manage system restore points. It is still necessary to remove older restore points using disk cleanup facility. Perform these steps before the defrag for best results
    http://www.CCleaner.com/download

A warning about cCleaner. Do not use the registry tool.

A better tool than Disk Defragmenter is Defraggler

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

However, the table fields of record DEV_SOAINFRA.cm_case_stake_holder all have nulls with the exception of the field ID. Can I make the Exception, this seems to be the cause.

Finally got it working with the help of the Oracle:

    • Download the patch for 14791221
    • Unzip the hotfix into a temporary directory
    • Copy the patch - catalog_18499.xml and HLJ3.jar in utils/bsu/cache_dir under your House of BEA. For example, it will be/oracle/fmwhome/utils/bsu/cache_dir to BPM VirtualBox image
    • Change directory to/oracle/fmwhome/utils/bsu
    • Run. BSU.sh
    • This will launch the Smart Update application. Once it initializes, you should see the patch in the downloaded patch panel. Click the button in the column apply to apply the patch

    Hey all,.

Captivate 6.0.0.199 hangs when you delete a slide.  This does not work on another computer running the same exact version.  This happens with both new CPTX files created in CP6, as well as those implemented since CP5.

    We are on Windows 7.

Any ideas?  It would be nice to delete slides.

  • Satellite P850-F315 - RECOVERY ISSUES

    Hello

    I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite P850-F315.

After that I did a factory reset (now "zero" all by pressing the button "power on"), I noticed that I had driver problems on my USB ports.
I have found workarounds and kept the operation of the machine.

This morning the wireless card stops working and so did the bluetooth device (it is, of course, in addition to the USB ports that were never resolved).

The machine won't let me not re-install the drivers for those devices.
I tried a system restore Windows, which did not help.
So I came back to perform a factory reset Toshiba.

    + It is underway. +

    Here are my questions.
When I performed the first factory reset, it was the problem of the USB to start.
When I tried to re - install the USB drivers, they seem to be "locked" while signed in as a user.
I could only install devices on USB ports, when I was in safe mode.
    Why would this happen?

Secondly, I have another identical machine, which is currently works perfectly.
This problem will be repeated if I do a factory reset on the second machine?

Is there a reason why wireless and bluetooth devices may stop working randomly?
The wireless hardware seems to be detected by the system, but I can't install the software or device drivers. When I go in the settings of the wireless card and select a Protocol, the properties button is "grayed out" which means I can't go into the properties of each protocol. On the bluetooth device, it freezes while loading software at 15%.

It just seems like there are too many random questions on a single machine. I hope someone can help me with a simple solution for all problems.

    Hello

The whole story is really strange and I can't imagine what the problem is here. Fact is this recovery image original Toshiba is always created for some portable model and contains the operating system, all necessary drivers for hardware components, specific tools and Toshiba Utilities and some additional software.

Toshiba recovery image contains drivers tested so I m really confused why you had all of these problems.
At first, my advice to you is to create using recovery disc (DVD) preinstalled creator Toshiba recovery disc. After doing this using this drive for the functionality of recovery by image installation and test once more.
    > I have another identical machine, which is currently works perfectly.
Googling around, I found that your computer has the PSPKBF part number. If this machine another has the same part number create recovery disk and use it on the original machine just to see if the same problem happens again.
    > This problem repeated itself, if I do a factory reset on the second machine?
I understand the reason for this question, but recovery image can be installed to 1000 times and the result must be the same. I installed recovery image on multiple machines, and each time the reset settings has been successfully and without any strange problems.

Believe me it is not easy to help you with all these problems. Recovery image is tested and after recovery image installation, everything should be ok.
Please do what I wrote and do some tests.

    Send comments.
