  • Is the free update for Windows7 from Vista still available?

My computer has been down for 2 years. I finally had the time to work again. I remember it being a free update for users of Vista to Windows7. And I heard that they were doing so again because they'll update XP. Where can I get this download?

Sorry - no, the free upgrade offer is over.

  • Hi iam trying to get a free update of vista home premium for windows7 edition Home premium, but have had no luck at all.

    Hello

IAM doing the free upgrade from windows vista home premium to windows7 home premium but with no luck please help.

    Migration: Windows XP and Vista

First, Windows XP and Windows Vista are not eligible versions for the free update, so you should have to buy a full version license.

    Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition

In addition, Windows XP and Vista users will need to perform a custom installation, any attempt to start the installation of Windows 10 in legacy versions of Windows will trigger the following error message:

Learn more: how: perform a customized Windows installation

Keep in mind, the restoration works in Windows 10 can't stand not installs custom, so if you decide to go back to Windows XP or Vista, you have to reinstall it using original reinstall media. So try to create a backup of your installation, if it is important for you.

    Do your system restore, then:

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it

    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".

When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.

Make sure you have the right cable

Or if it's the drivers for your network adapter you are referring to:

  • Y at - it produces a Windows Vista Driver for Tungsten T2 update

    Hi all

I recently bought a new computer with Vista o/s. I need Sciez Hot Sync. I downloaded and installed the Vista driver capable, but was unable to find the driver for the Hot Sync H/W. ' d you please let me know if there is a driver available for the old cradle?

Thanks in advance for your support,

    Ziggy

ZiggyMan, much depends on the version of Vista you have.  It is 32-bit or 64-bit?

If 64-bit, there is no USB drivers to use a cable or a cradle.  You can use BlueTooth to HotSync the two.  If your computer has BlueTooth inside radio, there are USB dongles that can be purchased to add capacity.

There is a great thread sticky at the top of this article about the problem.  "Vista64 Solution."

  • Cumulative update for Windows Vista...

There are several updates, called "Cumulative Security Update for Windows Vista" that whenever I have download interrupts me to use Internet Explorer 7. I have no problem download from this but find myself constantly having to uninstall these updates after installation. It's a hassle and they never go (which means that I always wonder to install). When I say cut, I mean I open the browser, but it gives me an error of loading of the page. I have a WiFi connection and make sure that I am connected, but it still says that I'm not. I also have problems with Internet Explorer 8, which after installation cannot be used because it gives me an error of loading of page and constantly suggests that I am not connected to the internet. I'd love to have my laptop Compaq in the shape of the top end and as secure as can be but I can't with these issues, and often, I decline to make the updates for this reason. If you can help me with these questions, because I promise you that I have did everything in my power so please do! If not, then I can live with this POS a bit longer ;)

    Thank you in advance!

You should have (1) uninstalled Norton free trial, (2) download / run the Norton removal tooland then (3) installed Webroot Antivirus with Spysweeper (?) BEFORE the Norton free trial period had expired. (Too late now).

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) otherwise and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

Tip: After getting the computer fully patched, download/install KB971029 manually:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971029

NB: The Norton free trial will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the trial for free AND download/run the Norton removal tool before installing updates, Windows Service Packs or updates to IE AND BEFORE installing your new antivirus application (for example, Webroot Antivirus with Spysweeper).

Malicious software could play a role:

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to do a thorough check and removal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect the cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy to detect malicious software is often accompanied by a much harder to detect and remove the payload. So its best to be now too thorough than paying the high price later. Check with them to an extreme exaggeration, and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run the in the Windows when you can.

    Hello

I recently installed updates for Windows Vista on my laptop. I stopped him and turned on the next day to find the Start button, toolbar and all windows look as if they have a style of windows 98 for them.

It was also a message about accounts how temporary can not be used, and as an administrator, I have the right to see the windows service center. I clicked on the message and nothing happened.

    Any help appreciated

After reading the process to carry out a repair for Vista installation, I was not confident I could do given my lack of COMPUTER skills and feared that I would have done something wrong.  But while browsing the site there are other suggestions that I adopted. For example, I downloaded Registry Booster, ran the System File Checker (which I had already done but thought, no harm to do again), and other suggestions are in response to similar questions like mine.  I also ran an another Chk Dsk (I also run this previously).  To restart, as he was driving through the verification process, he said,' windows replaced bad cluster in file name \window\winsxs\x8A9C8~1.226\ 8915cambria.ttc'.  And I was happy, because it was the file you advised has been damaged.  I don't know exactly how it happed, as I said, I had perfomred chk dsk a numer of times before.  I was successfully able to install the update for Window Vista KB980248!  I was so happy after all the anxiety.

Thank you very much Andrew, for your time, assistance and patience. Very much appreciated.
