FreeCell Windows 7

I got a new computer w/Windows 7.  I didn't like the version of freecell is with Windows 7, is there a way I can trasfer version which is running XP to my new computer?  (I play freecell to keep my sanity during long and boring conference calls!)

There is a workaround to play free cell XP on the Windows 7 computer. There is no guarantee that it will work.

To run XP freecell, try the following steps.
1. click on start, run, type %windir%\System32 and click ok on XP.
2. copy the following files to a flash drive.
a. Freecell.exe
b. Cards.dll
3. plug the flash drive for Windows 7 computer and follow these steps.
a. Click Start, click computer.
b. open the C: folder and right-click on the empty space and click New-> folder.
c. copy Freecell.exe and Cards.dll files in this folder.
d. try to run the file Freecell.exe and enjoy the game.

  • FreeCell crashes in Windows 7

It is the new Freecell in Windows 7. This has happened only once in hundreds of games. The table has frozen; I couldn't move all cards with one exception. I was able to move a card to the spare area (4 cards), but then couldn't move everything on the table. When I recorded the game is out, and then returned to the same game, still frozen. Allowed that play if I leave the game and began to charge.

    Hi apple c t,.

    a. are you facing this issue from day one you use windows 7?
    b. may I know what exception you get?

Try disabling and re-enabling game, and check if that helps.

    1. close all programs.
    2. click on the Start button and then click Control Panel.
    3. under programs, click on uninstall a program.
    4. in the pane tasks, click on turn Windows features on or off.
    5. in the windows features list, click the plus sign next to games.
    6. under games clear the checkbox next to FreeCell.
    7. you receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
    8. now restart the computer and then go to Windows features turn on or off features. Place a check for FreeCell. You receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
    9. restart your computer.

  • Why standard - spider & freecell games not available in Windows 7?

New computer and new installation of Windows 7. Freecell and spider are not available. Why not?

They are, you might just enable them.

Press the windows key or the button at the bottom left and type in 'characteristics '. Then click on 'functionality in windows or turn off. From there, develop games with the button "+" next to him and put a check mark next to the game you want and press OK. Games must appear in the Games folder in the start menu and in the Games Explorer. Good luck.

How do we install Freecell, solitaire of Spider etc. which are not on the new op system?

If you don't see anything in the Games Explorer, you must add this feature, then try this:

  • How can I get FreeCell to boot under Windows 7?

I've recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.  After the upgrade the games included in the Games Explorer (which worked fine in 64-bit Vista) appear in the window but does not start.  I have no error message or other problems when I double click the icon for FreeCell, for example.

Hello have Der Theo, you changed the system to stop the shortcuts arrows that appear?  Which is known to cause problems with the Games Explorer.  If you have, I would recommend using System Restore to restore your system before when these changes were made.

To ensure that the game is to try to work launch directly from the Start Menu, not from Games Explorer and see if that works and post back with the results. • Windows Freecell, Solitaire, etc.

I try to play freecell, solitaire, or any of the games on Windows Vista and I receive a notice of "Critical error": none of his graphic designs suitable found.
I tried the turn of windows power features in Control Panel.  He works at this time, but not when I try to play again.
I have to go by this whenever I want to play?

    Hi Barnboss,
I hope you do well. The critical error that you can get is possibly due to a Virus. It would be good if you provided more details about it.
When exactly was the issue started?
Did you install any new software or make changes before this problem occurred?
    If it works well before?
Please run a scan for virus as well.
You can also see if the same problem occurs in safe mode.
To start in safe mode restart the computer and press the F8 key on your keyboard for about four to five times. Once you're in SafeMode so check the problem recurs.
Please provide me the details above and also informed me as to what is happening in safe mode so that we can go further.
    Thanks and greetings

The system restore solved my problem and after that I had to do it AGAIN today, I went to Windows Update and changed the settings so that the updates would not automatically download and install on my computer.  It is certainly a problem with one of the Microsoft updates.  I just hope that they recognize that one and let us know as soon as POSSIBLE!  I'll be very selective on what updates, I am hosting in the future!
