Freeze in Windows XP problem

My computer freezes for about 5-10 seconds, then continues on. This happens in all programs.  I have Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I have AMD 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 5200 + 2.60 GHz. 3.25 GB of RAM.  My hard drive is only half full.  Also my printers will not print after that I used the computer for about 1 hour. If I turned off the computer and restart all prints while Windows XP is starting. Printers and computers are connected to a router and two other machines.  Other machines work fine and no problem printing.

CCleaner - will remove the unnecessary files that you don't want

Step 1. Download Ccleaner from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
Download it, run the file install Ccleaner, then open Ccleaner.

Step 2. Click run cleaner once you have checked all you don't want on your computer. This will clean up unnecessary files, you don't want to. CCleaner also comes with a registry cleaner.

Step 3. To run this registry click on the left side of the window, and then click scan for issues, difficulty of the selected questions, click on no to the box that opens, and then click fix all selected issues. This should clean all files that is no longer usable.

Defragment your drive hard by: Windows Defragmenter to help. I use defraggler from the makers of Ccleaner, because it's faster.

If problems or questions please answer.

  • Freezing with windows pc problems 8

Hi, I just bought a lenovo flex 14 the previous month. It has preinstalled windows 8 on it and has the nvidia graphics card and intel when trying to access the compressed folders / files, after like 30 seconds, my labtop could hang indefinitely and requiring a reboot (I don't know if it's blocking of driver or graphics card problem). It's the same thing when I try to unzip my files zipped, so I guessed that the question must be with zip (drivers?) files. One would be kind enough to give me advice on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Maybe try to reset your Zip file associations.  Download this file:

  • Thunderbird freezes when Windows 10 fate of mode 'sleep'. SOLVED by disabling lightning, provider for Google Calendar and calendar Tweak

Since the update of Windows 7 Windows 10, Thunderbird has acted erratically. At random times, he keeps checking for new messages. If I then try to manually check for mail, it freezes. He meets some menu commands, but by clicking anywhere in the components (list the mailboxes), the list of messages, etc. does nothing. Sometimes, it opens a white notification window, which I can only get rid of kill it with Task Manager. More often, if I just close Thunderbird and start it again, it starts working normally again... For a period of time. The problem seems to happen most often when I turn Windows off mode 'sleep', but

    I'm currently under Thunderbird 38.2.0.

I tried to disable some add-ons that I wasn't really using. I'll see if that helps. I saw that he suggested that users with similar problems running Thunderbird with all disabled add-ons, but I also saw that it said that it is really only a temporary fix rather than a real solution and I agree. List of enabled extensions:

    Add-on Compatibility Reporter 1.1.1
    The Update Checker 2.13 module
    Check compatibility 1.3.1
    Compact header 2.1.0
Mark all as read button 0.7.1
Reduce to a minimum at Lac revived 1.1.2.1

Any other suggestions? Anyone else having the same problem? I saw a few others with Windows 10 problems, but nothing quite matched mine.

Thanks for the help. Until now, deactivation of lightning, provider for Google Calendar and calendar Tweaks seems to have solved the problem. If it begins to freeze again, I'll do Mode without fail a test.

When you use the trackpad, that the cursor suddenly crashes to the screen. I have to take my finger on the pad and put it back on until the cursor starts to move. It does not seem be any model especially when it happens, but it's very common, two or three times per minute.

  • Laptop freezes on Windows startup screen (start)

Freezes my laptop Envy15-3000 starting up.  It makes only to the Windows startup screen and then icons Microsoft stop moving.  This has happened since Tuesday (8/12).  I ran checks and the memory and hard drive (quick and full) test came back positive - i.e. without problems.  I finally decided to reformat yesterday (8/14).  He gets throughout the process of reformating until he wants to start the system for the "first time" (I guess this will be the last time it restarts in the recovery process) and always freezes on Windows startup screen.  If I try to hard cock off and try any other start up option I can think (Safe Mode, etc.), it says failed to retrieve and asks me to try again, get the details or Save Log.  When I try again, it goes back to freezing.  Therefore, I am now in an endless loop of another attempt of the retrieve to access the windows screen start freezing.

All I want to do is wipe the hard drive and reload everything.  I'm not interested to recover the old data I backed everything up.  I have had no error messages on my sleeve it, memory, tests etc, so I'm at a loss on how to proceed.  Help, please!  Thank you.

PS: I have the original 7 provided with the system recovery/windows DVD player.

    Hello

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery media, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software offerings when you install ImgBurn) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and software that you may need are entering either the No. fullModel. or your notebook product number here.

I have a PC laptop toshiba A60 with an ATI mobility radeon 7000igp pilot and the screen freezes often calm saying problem of file ATI2vag.
I uninstalled and then re-installed with the tools backup drive, the problem is still there. I went to the ATI site to try a set date and this would fail, as the laptop came with pre-installed drivers, could not find a.

Can I try now. HELP PLEASE.

    Hello

Usually, you should always use the graphics drivers Toshiba because other drivers from the manufacturer s are not designed for the use of the laptop. Graphics drivers from Toshiba are slightly different because they have a thermal protection.

So if you are not able to find an update of the graphics driver for your laptop then I would recommend to check the different laptops that have the same graphics card and try to use this driver.

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
