Freezing on satellite

A couple of days my fiancee decided to get out own laptop to work because they have not yet issued him with a working computer (useless company). He has connected to their phone line and then the computer froze. The screen looks like it is something (the timer goes) and the mouse arrow can be moved without any problems, but when you try to open something, it won't work. In the unlikely case where something go as far as opening, it cannot be closed. The only way to turn off the laptop is by pushing the power button. I can then open in safe mode without any problem. In safe mode, we tried to come back a few days in time to see if that solves the probem, but it's not.

The computer was purchased only in August so it is completely new, and the only real problem we had with it is once we couldn't stop. I'm pretty sure that the problem incurred during the other half took it works

Any ideas?

Is it related to their telephone line, or maybe the local network?

  • Windows Vista freezes on Satellite A300

Hi everyone, I recently bought a Satellite A300 pre loaded with Vista just before Christmas.

Everything seemed to go OK first but now my computer has taken to freezing on me at least once a day and to do everything I have to the control + alt + delete and restart. It is extremely annoying. Can someone advise me (in really simple talk as I am not techhie spirit!) what is the problem and how to fix. All responses appreciated!

    Hello

I too have a PSAG0A of A300 Satallite that freezes in Vista Home Premium. It varies between 30 seconds and a few hours before he can lock up, but it has been getting worse over time. Analysis antivirus shows an own system of several vendor scanning but it is difficult to make them fill out now because of the freeze. I am looking for a factory reset with the recovery CD, otherwise I'll have to take for a cheque of guarantee. If anyone knows of a driver who needs to update or what can be the cause please advise.

  • Problems of Freeze/bios satellite A660

I have a satellite A660 a year already and I experienced a few freezes where the PC and I am unable to do anything, the sound still works for a few seconds and them it change to a scratching noise. The question as always been here, but given that it only happened once a month or less i thought it was a windows freeze or an overheating problem but for some time happened much several times, in four days happened to 8 times. Then I tried to update the drivers and nothing change until the BIOS drivers that I can't not to update because I get the following error (Firmware has no support of flash (AFUWINGUI)).
I don't know if the update to the BIOS so that solve the problem or if a must send the PC to the guarantee.

Sorry for my English I'm not a native speaker, and I am grateful for those who can read thought my question and always responds.

Have you added extra RAM for laptop? Maybe the RAM is not compatible or has a problem. You can test the RAM with Memtest (bootable CD)

Windows can get damaged over time due to bad judgments etc... It may be a good idea to save your documents and run Toshiba Recovery to restore Windows back to its factory condition.

If the RAM passes the test and the gel is always held on a Windows factory installation completely fresh, then it is probably a hardware problem.

  • Explorer freezes again Satellite M105-S3084

This is a new (1 week) Satellite M105-S3084 running XP MCE with 2 G of ram and Intel duo T2050. I'm having a problem with Explorer solutions (files & folders, not IE) freezing intermittently, sometimes take 10-20 seconds before I take control, other times requiring a reboot.

I am virus and malware clean (Avast, Ad-Aware SE, Sbybot, etc...) and uptodate on all Windows updates.

I checked the support from Toshiba, but could not find any solution. (PC, perhaps too recent). I think that sometimes fingerprint reader software is causing a similar problem, but not sure if it's the same thing. I would like to uninstall the software of fingerprint reader (which I do not use because it is not secure) but can't find it under applications to add/remove to uninstall.

Any suggestions on how to solve this intermittent freezing that seems related to Windows Explorer?

I assume you have the American portable model. I heard that the similar problem was with IE, but it is fixed, if I remember correctly, with a new fingerprint reader software. Download page to check U.S. under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

  • Freeze on Satellite L855 - 11K

    Hello

I have a Satellite L855 - 11 k (PSKACE). The problem I have with the laptop is the continuous gap.

    Explain the examples:

A game that does not demand a lot of features, CS (counter strike 1.6 network) I can not play, because I play + 70 fps and suddenly when we turn the camera or move in one area, the fps drops to 0 and blow less than 1 s up to 70 frames per second. No internet problem, the same thing happens in offline mode.

Another example are the videos, like youtube for example, a video of 480 p to my laptop I need to move smoothly, but must then image frozen (the audio continues to play) and I can't see anything. After 1-2 seconds veulve himself. But it's very annoying. (The same thing happens to 320p, 720 p or 1080 p). With vlc, nothing on this, but as I see the video I can't do anything more.

I also noticed that with any program when you save a document, photo,..., it is more expensive than a laptop with less energy.

Additional information: I have windows 8 x 64 (with windows 7 x 64 is the same), and I added a 4 GB module, so I have 8 GB (1600 MHz) ram. All drivers download from the toshiba website [http://www.toshiba.es/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=ES]. I also noticed that when I copy something to port hard drive VIA USB 3.0 for a short period of 4-7 s high-speed 40MB / s, but falls to 1-3 MB / s.

And finally, in the windows Device Manager, I see the Blast graphic processor (intel grafics 3000HD) (seen intalled readers of the toshiba website).

Finally, I tried all modes of windows, balanced, economy, powerful... and activation and deactivation of the refrigeration system strategy.

I can serult all this time lag and freeze?

PS: I also noticed that the laptop FAN 30% does not increase, even if the pc is at 90 ° +!.

    Hello

The laptop supports the AMD Radeon HD M 7670.
Therefore, the hardware specifications are good enough to play games smoothly or watch videos full HD.

In your case I recommend that you check the version of the BIOS. Maybe there is a new version of BIOS that needs an update more trying to update ATI graphics card driver

Also I recommend that you check the HARD drive for a possible malfunction.
The freeware tool called disk HARD drive fitness test could be useful, this software allows you to test the HARD drive

Otherwise I have no other explanation for the quoted question... it's possible and hardware or software related issue.

  • Freezes on Satellite A210-10 has

    Hello!

In recent weeks, I have Toshiba A210-10. But I have a problem that is boring sometimes... but it is not often. The computer freezes for no reason and sometimes it restarts. Vista tells me that it is because of ATI Technologies. I 8.38 pilot, but I'M LOST as I do not have the drivers for the display driver in my computer page > more< and="" i="" see="" 8.371="" on="" the="" other="" a210="" .="" so="" i="" can't="" download="" drivers="" for="" my="" graphic="" card="" any="" more="">

Please, I'm lost... What can I do? Which driver? What...? :'(

I have this computer because my other froze too... :'(

And I'm disappointing the Chicony webcam which is not always in a good mood for MSN...

    Thank you.

Satellite A210-10 belongs to the PSAEL series.
As far as I know that this series is supported by some ATi Mobility Radeon X 2400 graphics card.

Go to the page of European driver of Toshiba and download the compatible ATI graphic driver.
Right now, I found the version * 8.38* on the page of the Toshiba driver!

  • Keyboard and mouse freeze on Satellite L355

Occasionally, immediately after startup or the awakening of the day before, the keyboard and the mouse freezes as soon as the keyboard is used.
The mouse works before the Frost, but will stop as soon as the keyboard is used. For example, the computer works fine and I can launch a program, download email etc, but as soon as I use the keyboard then it freezes.

A USB or wireless mouse works in this mode, but not the mouse computer. On-screen keyboard also works with the external mouse. Unfortunately, I don't have a USB keyboard to see if it will work also.

    Any ideas?

In my view, this problem could be linked to the question in your other thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=172295

Maybe all these laptop strange behaviors are related to the question of the motherboard
Therefore, as suggested in the other thread:

How to check for hardware conflicts?

No new software installed, no. Windows Update turned on so I'm excluding the chances of any question of software!

    Toshiba...
    Help, please!

    > How to check for hardware conflicts?
Well, if you can exclude the problems of the (software) system (and I think you can do this because the laptop should run stable and properly after restoring the laptop) we assume that your laptop problems might be related to malfunction of the equipment.

What part of the material could go wrong function? Well, I m thinking on the HARD drive or memory.
I think you should check if the HARD drive is OK. For this, you can use some HARD drive diagnostic tools as for example disk HARD drive fitness test.

Of course, you could also swap the HARD drive and was able to recover the laptop using the new disc HARD just to check if the same question would never happen again.

  • TouchPad freezes on Satellite L40 - 18Z

    Hi all, first Post.

I am a former technician of I.T. & worked on computers since 1984, & on laptops since 2001.

This topic is mainly about the L40 - 18Z, but 2 other models are mentioned.

I met a problem with the TouchPad on a Toshiba L40 - 18Z, (& also an A100-338) running costs two installs 32-bit Vista Home Premium but not a recovery Partition or a Dvd.
Same problem as well on a L300 - 25K running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.

The touchpad freezes sometimes. Sometimes, you can move the arrow cursor, but very slowly.

All 3 work fine, now with a Usb mouse.

ALL the latest drivers on the Toshiba site are installed on laptops all 3.
All updates are installed with Microsoft.
ALL have the latest Bios updates.

The L300 - 25K & the A100-338, I think I solved the problem by installing the package of value added, but the VAP software is not listed in the section for the L40 drivers.
I tried both the L300 & A100 VAP on the L40, but they did not work.

Strangely, on the L40, I reduced the 1280 x 800 screen resolution to 1280 x 768 & the problem seems to have, at least for the last day or so!

Also, I found that unplugging the power cord "cured" the problem on all 3 laptops right now.

I tried to feed all 3 laptops without batteries at the same time that the fault occurred, but cela made no difference, while the batteries must be in agreement.

The L300 is my own personal laptop & the other 2 are members of the family.

I don't think that laptops specifications is relevant to this problem, but let's go anyway:

    Toshiba Equium L40 - 18Z (PSL48E-033008EN)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T2330 @ 1.60 ghz
    1.5 GB Ram Pc2-5300
    80 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba A100-338 (PSAAQE-006008AV)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T5200 @ 1.60 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    100 GB SATA Hdd
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba L300 - 25K (PSLB9E-03M02UEN)
32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium (original Vista HP)
    Intel Celeron 900 Cpu @ 2.20 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    120 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

I would go to the bottom of this for all future repairs, so if anyone has any suggestions...?

    > I found that C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTPEnh.exe has been "blocked" so I moved the file to the desktop, unlocked, then he came back

SynTPEnh.exe belongs to the Synaptics touchpad driver and I think that you have software installed on the laptop that doesn't work with this touchpad driver
It's only a guess, but maybe some firewall or anti-virus tool could block this exe. Maybe you should check it using a clean operating system.

Also try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad maybe it helps.

  • After a certain time freezes my Satellite L50-A-165

I have a problem with my new L50-A-165

After an hour or for work, the computer crashes... I can still pass the pointer on the screen, but it becomes very slow... and impossible to do anything. Looks like the drive is stuck. I restart and it works fine, but after a bit, it's stuck again.

I already have the recovery, and the same thing happens.

Someone had this problem? I do not know if something West in the Bios that can be changed so I Don t have ot send it to Toshiba for repair.

    Thank you..

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. In my view BIOS has nothing to do with it. Maybe some background activities block your laptop. After new installation Windows OS install several updates in the background and the HARD drive is busy with the download and installation.

Did you install additional software that is running in the background? Open the Task Manager and check a little. You can close unnecessary processes and check if it happens again. One last thing: when you use your laptop, make sure it is placed on a flat, clean surface so the ventilation openings are not blocked and temperature of material will be not too high.

  • Satellite M70 164 - screen freezes and goes black, overheating

    Hello world! :)

Recently my Satellite m70-164 started to freeze after only a few minutes of work. The picture on the screen freezes, and a few seconds later, it becomes completely black.
The computer doesn't even have time to warm up, and it's not stop... It's just the screen that freezes and becomes so black. I have to reset the computer by pressing the power button. (I write from another computer).

I noticed that working time reduced whenever I have reset the computer and after some time it freezes even though I am in the BIOS settings, so I don't think it's an OS problem.
Even if the computer does not have time to warm up, this suggests it might be a heat problem.
So I tried pointing a fan this is low (a big, like the ones we use in the summer), and it works without problem!

With the fan facing these, I reinstalled Windows - so no Virus.
Laptop fan * not * continue to operate as it is overheating.
The fan runs and it is not clogged as I've cleaned.

So if anyone has the same problem, or ideas, please respond!
    (And sorry for my English)
    Thanks in advance! : D

    Hey Buddy,

I agree with you. In this case, even in the BIOS, that it has nothing to do with Windows or a Virus. In this case, it seems to be a hardware malfunction

But before contacting an authorized service provider to diagnose what part is the cause, clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This should be done from time to time (every 4 months) and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

    Hello

My new Satellite Pro S500, age: 2 hours have just made the 'start-up' and installed all the drivers. Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro R850-15F who gave me four years in refurbished condition and so it is quite old.
I have recently installed Windows 10 and things seemed to work very well.

However, last week, I noticed that at least once a day my laptop freezes randomly and immediately the internal fan accelerates, becomes much stronger and a cold air. Whenever this happens, I turned off the laptop and turn it back on it.

After that, it works normally again until the next time it freezes. I don't know anything about computer hardware, but I suspect that it is a problem of series and I wanted to get some advice in case my laptop is close to dying.

If anyone has any help or advice or suggestions to solve the problem, then I would be extremely grateful if you would contact me.

Hope to hear from someone soon,

    Flashback

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. To me, it looks like problem with some background process that as a result of extremely high CPU usage that locks the phone whole.
High CPU usage means more heat in such situation the fan starts to run a lot faster.
