Frequent sounds of 'buzz'

My wife has a laptop Dell Inspiron N4110 with SRS Premium SOund technology.   Recently, he began to make frequent short 'buzz' sounds (one every 2 minutes) because she is listening to SAIAB. AC. ZA, PBS.ORG, Pandora.com and Hulu.com.  It happens when she's using Chrome or IE. I uninstalled the 2 sound devices and reinstalled them at the next reboot.  Always the same.  The sounds of buzz arrive when it uses its built-in speakers and when using headphones.

Any thoughts on next steps?

THX,

Mike T GOES.

Sorry for the very late reply but we were overwhelmed messages about the noise. It is a problem that began on February 11, 2015. If it's yours at the beginning, see the FAQ Audio Choppy/jump.

  • Sound of buzzing/grinding/Popping/stuttering from speakers for Dell Inspiron N7110.

It is a similar problem, I read all the forums, and I tried ALL the suggestions of those messages that say they work. Unfortunately, there is no problem for MY model of laptop, it's always for some 15 - something.

I have a buzzing/grinding/popping/stuttering sound when I listen to the music, when I watch YouTube videos, or do much of anything that requires sound. It comes through the speakers of the laptop, any headphones that I use and even when I plug in speakers to use. I have tried everything; rolling back the drivers, update drivers, installation of something quick somethingsomething to Intel, I'm getting desperate. It's been two or more weeks now, and I'm at my wit's end.

My computer model is a Dell Inspiron N7110 with Windows 7 64 bit.

Because there is no forum for other messages on this problem with this model, I have not exactly a place to turn without actually posting something on this subject.

Have you tried to restore the original computer to the factory settings? If you had no problem when you first received the laptop, restore will fix it. (Page 70 of the Setup Guide - Factory Image Restore).

If restoring fixes it, it means that a configuration change caused the problem, probably an update. If you keep track of future updates, you can discover that it triggers the problem when it repeats.

If the restore does not resolve and the computer was not initially the problem, this means that a hardware problem has developed.

  • B276HUL - sound of buzzing/vibration when displaying text

    Hello

Recived my monitor yesterday and I found a few questions

    1)

When you lift the monitor that it is obvious that something is in bulk on the inside. There is a rattle noise clear as if a small screw is tumbling backward. Other than as described below, the monitor seems to work very well however, and I'm not sure if there is an RMA number valid?

    2)

The monitor is audible noises when displaying text. No noise is audible during the display of photos or video.

Specificially happens when displaying multiple lines of text in small print. Particularly in windows Explorer when you browse folders with a lot of content in the 'list' or 'Detail' view. The noise is so clearly audible above noise background and difficult to ignore. If I resize the Solution Explorer Windows, noise is reduced / increases in proportion to the size of the window. Noise is also audible when you browse web pages with text or editing of text documents.

The noise is constant while adjusting the contrast or brightness. It is independently using DVI or DisplayPort. Have also tried to connect to another computer with the same result.

If I reduce the resolution or use Windows scaling of the frequency of the sound changes, but is still audible.

EDIT: Two computers use windows 8. We have a discreet GFX (MSI 760) and the other is a laptop with Intel HD graphics card.

    simple answer: RMA

  • No sound. Computer is silent. This happens frequently.

I can not get audio on my computer.  Frequently sound disappears.  How to restore?

Most often when a device does not work, it's because the driver has been corrupted.

    Try reinstalling your.

  • His buzz and abandonment

    Hello

This forum seems to be very useful, so I hope someone here can help me...

I have a HP ENVY 15 TouchSmart 15 Quad Edition 8.1 Windows running. When I play something with it (for example a video in VLC, music in iTunes) the sound, the sound will buzz intermittently and, less frequently, is de-energized. These two problems will last for a few seconds per incident. I have reinstalled the audio driver, reinstalled the operating system, reinstall my RAM, and so forth. Nothing seems to have solved the problem. I have the feeling that this is perhaps one of two things: obsolete Intel HD Graphics driver (HP doesn't have releaed an update since the spring of 2013, [which was before this laptop was released yet...) or interference of the WiFi adapter.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    linuxman95

P.S. I have a video of the issue, if anyone wishes, I post on YouTube as not registered. Also, I'm a computer programmer, so feel free to tell me to do something difficult.

    Hi Linuxman95.

Due to the fact that the Windows 8.1 is a very recent version, not all of the updated drivers have been developed and tested.

The only other option is to roll back to Windows 8 and wait for the updated drivers to be released.

  • Satellite L670 cpu fan noise

As I sit in front of my new laptop L670, from the left end of the keyboard comes up and down a whirring frequent sound that I'm pretty sure is the CPU fan
    (not HD).
What is too much? I find it disturbing. There is no sound from my old Toshiba 1 year. The room temperature is a constant 20degrees, so it is not overheating.
And does so even when sitting idle with just the screen Windows7 IE no software activity going on at all.

I'm worried that this is a faulty computer. It is old (for me) - 2 days, purchased new. Still able to resume.

    Grateful for any thoughts.

    Hello

I put t know how I can you use your laptop, but for normal use I recommend to use the balanced power plan. Enter the advanced power settings for the management of the balanced diet and open Toshiba power saver.
You will find options for cooling method.
    Set to optimized battery.

This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.
    Please test.

  • BDP-S570 is a hum when outside noise

You wonder why this happens - any ideas? Of course I do not notice it when he plays, but when it is off, I certainly hear a sound of buzzing or humming coming from him.

Rather than fix it, it would be cheaper to buy a new device!

  • My Satellite C855 makes a noise very loud

    Hello

Today I was playing my games, as usual until my laptop from the sounds of buzzing very, very strong. Instantly, I turned off the laptop. Would be a bit and turned back to the left. Once again, very loud noises. I'm afraid to turn it back on now. IM thinking because it is the fan that is where comes the noise, but I can't be sure.

Any advice on what to do? Someone else had this problem?

    Thank you
    Frozensin

On this virtual path we cannot say with certainty what the problem is, but I can imagine that the cooling fan is responsible for this.
From the first moment you turn on your computer laptop cooling fan is active, so I would like to know if you can hear the noise from the first second after the start.

Is there another type of vibration?

Of course, it is also interesting to know whether or not your laptop is guaranteed to be valid. If so, I recommend that you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help.
They can order and exchange cool air.

  • The program nero 6 wave editor mydell computer running windows xp will no longer accept the contribution of music to my record player.

I already talked to a technician of nero first he pointed the finger at my tuntable I went outside and so it made no difference now, he said, it's something in the computer, it's a dell dimension E521 desktop using windows xp media edition. It has something to do with the way he treats the sound, it's a sound terrible buzz when I listen to on the monitor and when I read the record on the computer it plays at twice the speed, that it was recorded.

    Hi cabcaloway1940,

    · How the record player is connected to the computer?

    1. you can use windows built-in tape recorder to refine the hum noise if in only from the application.

Link, please refer to: using Sound Recorder:http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/app_soundrecorder.mspx?mfr=true

    2. in addition, to check the recording speed. Check out the link that has the same steps below: Secrets of Windows XP CD burning:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/bott_03september16.mspx

    3. check that the electrical outlet you are using is properly grounded.

    4. you can also try a surge protector in order to see if the hum goes away.

  • HP laptop - 15-ac131nv: distortion sound/buzz

    Hello

I have problems with my speakers. Whenever I have play anything the sound is distorted and there's a little buzz, as if the frequencies/sounds are too much for the speakers to manage. It happens even on system sounds. It started to happen about a week to 10 days, and I think it was once a substantial package of updates installed Windows. I also feel (although I can't be sure) that this does not happen directly when I turn on the computer and play something, but if I play something and then get a sound system or a sound from another source, that's when the distortion occurs. If I plug in my headphones the sound is great and there is no problem.

All my drivers are up to date, I manually installed the last two days ago, but that does not solve the problem. I also made sure the sound levels (audio output) are not too high.  Any ideas would be much appreciated, because it becomes very annoying and I'm beginning to wonder if the speakers are somewhat damaged. There just 2 months I bought this computer, so it's quite upsetting.

    Thank you very much

Yes I think that did the trick.

    Thanks a lot again!

  • 21 "iMac 2010 with el capitan making a buzzing sound and won't start not

I have a 2010 21 "iMac running EL capitan who today suddenly makes a gurgling noise and he wouldn't do anything so I turned it off and tried to put it back on and it continues to make a buzzing sound, as soon as I press the bottom of the power to the rear it hums 3 times then stops and emits a 3 stops... on a black screen. All tips thank you

Three beeps usually indicate a problem with the RAM.

See > Startup on computer - Mac Support Apple tones

Sometimes, modules dispose and sometimes the modules go bad. Personally, I would check and/or replace the RAM modules.

If you cannot or do not know how to install or check the RAM for yourself...? Next, you need to contact your Apple Store or FSAA and book a service appointment. See > https://locate.apple.com/country

  • Why is my iPod Touch 5 making a buzzing sound?

My iPod is not playing music or make sounds. When I try to play music nothing happens and when I try to play a sound effect, like a ringtone, it is it buzz. I tried to remove my case and nothing happened. I also tried unplugging my headphones to see if they were the problem and nothing happened then either. Please help me! What should I do?

It's an iPod Touch with 32 GB of storage 5 and I had a little more than two years. Thank you!

First of all, check if the mute is enabled. You can open the control center and press the mute icon, or switch on the side of the iPod. If this does not work, you should try to update, or bring it to the Apple Store, where they can fix.

  • Skype no sound during the first call, a constant buzzing afterwards.

    Hello

I'm running Debian unstable, and I've recently updated my system after several months of not doing (the last time was before the latest version of Debian). Once the upgrade is finished, I noticed that Skype (I have 4.2) had ceased to work properly with the following symptoms:

    • If I make a call immediately after the start of Skype, I get no sound. I can see in the controls of PulseAudio that Skype has opened an output stream, and yet nothing comes out the speakers. The microphone, on the other hand, works fine (the other part of the call confirmed that they could hear me).
    • If I can put an end to this call and try to start another one, without leaving Skype first, a buzzing begins at the time the call is trying to produce a sound. The buzz persists even after that I ended the call and indeed persists until I have quit Skype.

Since I've updated many packages at once, it is virtually impossible to tell what package updates may have caused this. In addition, the problem is specific to Skype; all other sound generating programs work very well. In any case, I would be happy to provide you with additional information that might help.

    Thank you

    Vasilis

I actually "solved" this by running Skype from the command-line in the following way:

    PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC = 30 Skype

It is still is not ideal because it does not work out of the box, but it does the trick. However, in the meantime, it stopped recognizing my webcam, so things aren't great yet. :-(
