Fresh install SP2, updates no longer work
Hi all
I fixed just an older XP machine. After formatting and installing XP SP2, I see that the updates are
is no longer available. What are the key files that I need to install manually (and what order) so I can get
Microsoft Updates for this machine up-to-date with all missing files.

You must download the SP3 from here directly on your computer and then get ready for another 100 + updates after.

Windows Update or automatic updates no longer work after installing SP3?
Recently I photographed two XP machines. A a Latitude D600 and also an Optiplex 745 with Windows XP SP2. I can deploy SP3 in our process of the image. First run I did. Once installed SP3 updates no longer work. I found this article KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144 and tried the suggestions here and FixIt MS, no luck. Then I thought why not try again maybe all the trial and error messed up something. I reimage but this time choose to do not to install SP3 immediately. Once done I run Windows Update and it works, until it installs SP3 then is no longer functions. I tried the above steps once again, no luck. I then leave the PC for 48 hours to see if the automatic updates the shot but they do not have. By other suggestions online I wrote a small batch file that updates several components of Windows Update (dll) which made no difference, and yes I'm in the last WindowsUpdateAgent. Please any help on this would be welcome. We move away XP but we have still a few dozen or more systems deployment running XP and this question slows down my work courses as I spend time troubleshooting instead of being able to finish and move along.

I really don't understand why it worked before, and now with new AIR SDK, Xcode new and new iOS SDK, it does not work.

I recently had to reset my plugins by using 12 Firefox in safe mode to get rid an extension/add-on causes a redirection problem. All was well, except for a plugin I need is no longer works. It is called 'missing-e' and is for Tumblr.
I tried put it back at least 5 times, according to their instructions and am now here, after they said it was a browser issue. I do I get invited to install on firefox, I install, I get the message that it has been installed correctly - but then it never appears in the Extensions or Plugins area under modules area (even if nothing never appears in the Extensions). And the features, it allows tumblr are not enabled.
The 'missing-e' people sent me here say they believe that it is a browser problem.

- Now, launch Firefox with the new profile.
-> IF this new profile works, then you can retrieve your history, passwords, bookmarks, etc. from the old profile, as described in this article-> recovery of data from an old profile

Why will be update no longer works on Windows 7.
OK, it's 20/09/2016 and the last message I found out summer 2013. If none of the above worked. I have 5 laptops with windows 7 and I'm not going to 10. I have two that are Windows 10 and if anyone wants them you can have. So here's the question. I tried to download updates for a week. Even reinstall windows 7 on a machine however is not one will upgrade to windows 7. One I use which is a clean install of MICROSFT included. Someone at - it an answer for this. I have read all the post 2013 but since Windows 10 went to pay option updates did not work. That Microsoft is trying to make a point. It indicates the available updates, but it isn't rolling in circles and nothing does ever download. I need help.

Computer with pre installed windows 7 no longer work after Windows installation 10

A few months ago, my son ordered a computer with Windows 7 pre-installed. He installed Windows 10 such as recommended with the message 'free upgrade'. Unfortunately, now the computer does not work at all and the computer doesn't seem to have a possibility of recovery (at least we cannot find it).
In addition, the computer manufacturer does not meet one of e-mails and calls from some time. What can we do to recover his computer with Windows 7 or Windows 10 (I don't like which version of Windows)? Windows setup does not work 10 from scratch, the product key has not been accepted, probably because there is only a product key for a pre installed windows 7.

Windows update no longer works on my PC.
I had to reinstall XP with SP3 and am unable to connect to the windows update Web site. When I search KB555989, or any other KB article, Bill Gates expects me to contribute to its pension fund. I thought that the Knowledge Base was free?
Is anyone able to solve this problem? Windows Update does not work on my PC, and I am unable to connect to the update site, even if my Internet connection is working.

Satellite A200 - after the mouse USB Vista updates no longer works
After installing the latest updates Vista (KB938371), I discovered that my mouse USB (Genius Traveler) does not work. I can't restore the system (mistake) and this update cannot be removed. Other (flash disk) USB devices work correctly.

+ I found the solution on another forum (forget which) and published this solution in multiple threads. The problem is, as indicated, a Human Interface Device in combination with update KB938371. After installing it, my usb mouse stopped working. Just go to the--> HID Device Manager - devices--> unknown device and looking for drivers. Vista won't find any drivers online, so you must get the drivers on your computer. The location of the driver (in most cases) will be C:/Windows/Winsxs. You will get a window saying: "this is an unsigned driver blah blah blah". Just install the driver. The mouse worked for me (even without reboot). +

1. when exactly do you get this error message? Is the windows startup?
2. is there a printer installed?
3. What is the full error message you get?
4 did you recent hardware or changes to the software of the system?
Method 1:
You can try the following steps and check if it helps.
a. Click Start, Type system32 in the search bar, and then press ENTER.
b. right-click on the Winspool.drv file and then click Rename.
c. Type winspool.drv.old and press ENTER.
d. restart the computer

Method 2:
If you receive the error message at startup, you can perform a clean boot and check if that helps.
A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

A few months ago, I started to receive Windows Update errors, indicating that my Windows platform could not update itself. Soon after, I started getting errors about C++ Redistributable does not install correctly. It wasn't a huge problem for a while, and I managed to work around it. However, my antivirus program is dead, and I'm unable to install a new. When I try to install programs now, I get the error "side-by-side configuration is incorrect." I would like to delete the manifest and try to reinstall the application, but I don't know where they are. At least, it would be a start. In any case, I am currently without virus protection. Help!
So far, I tried to uninstall the Windows updates, but I only managed to install the MS Office updates. I have even office, although I understand that it is built into the operating system of our days. I tried many different patches of a lot of different forums and nothing seems to work. I would like to reinstall the OS, but I bought OEM (from Newegg) and do not have the disc. I don't even have an easy backup, or even one that I know is 'good'.

Borrow a Vista DVD and don't reinstall Option I gave you.
