'From' address in emails, to that I say is incorrect

I just upgraded my OS and transferred my files of Thunderbird to a new computer and I'm having a strange problem. I have 8 e-mail addresses, which all go in an Inbox. When I click 'reply' on an e-mail, it must be sent from the e-mail it was sent. This is the field 'From' in my reply email.

However, for an e-mail address, it is default to another 'to' email account. It's really annoying because it is not an e-mail address that recipients should know, for example a mix of work and a personal email account. Also for me to change it manually, I'm going to forget a lot, and it will take a lot of extra clicks over time.

The strange thing is that it is not even the first 'to' mail in the drop-down list box. When I click on "Edit" and "Account settings" there is no link between the 2 e-mail addresses. In addition, to be really sure, I deleted the address of the SMTP key down, even if he was not missed, but I still get the address in the field "from". Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

I use Thunderbird on Linux Mint Rebecca 31.6.0.

Return to these account settings

In the account settings of theme@gmail under the outgoing server on the Panel shown when you click on the name is a button to manage identities.

Click on it and add a new identity for [email protected] here you get to select the outgoing server to use and the reply address. It is basically an account one account, just as the sent mail is mail for one address to another address.

How can I stop this? I'm sending obviously not emails to myself.

I doubt that something has been hacked. In all probability, a spammer got your email address and use it as a fake from: address and a bit silly can also use it as a To: address.

Displaying the source code of the message (using ctrl + u) can reveal something about the real origin of the message. While he won't say who sent him (and the real sender can be some innocent users that the machine has been compromised), it may be reassuring that the message is from a foreign location, and not an account or that you are responsible for the machine.

    Hello

If I understand your problem, I think it may have to do with the addresses stored in your address book. Thunderbird can display the name of your address book instead of the name of the post office, where corresponds to the e-mail address.

Check your address books to see if you have a bad entry for mail addresses get listed wrong.

Also check under Tools-> Options-> advanced-> reading & display if you have checked the option to see show it only the names of the people in my address book. If you uncheck this option, the name and the address must be...

  • Spam from my own email address

I use MSN on Windows XP and today I received an email from my email address. When I opened it, it is a supplement for Viagra. It's as if I send my own spam free. Hello

It has nothing to do directly with your computer.

E-mail is not sent directly out of our computers to the destination.

Our activities email through the email providers mail server.

Spammers are finding ways to "Tinker" with the servers.

Spammers harvest email addresses and fake her from addresses, it's a way to avoid some anti-spam filters.

That said, you have to scan your computer on a regular basis just to make sure that there is no. Trojans and malware sneak up on you.

  • Hotmail account: I can't receive e-mail from addresses that are not already in my contacts list

I can't receive e-mail from addresses that are not already in my contacts list, for example the library.  My account has been hacked recently, and I have informed Windows CE.  I then installed Avast security.  Since only known e-mail senders spend their emails.  Help, please.

    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

It seems that Avast is blocking messages from anyone not in your contacts list (much too tight fixed).  Disable the function of checking email and see if that solves the problem.  If so, run it without the option of e-mail enabled - it does not really help as long as you take normal precautions (as not to open attachments from people you don't know / trust and things like that).  If you don't know how to disable this feature, contact technical support Avast (I do not use the product so I don't know how, but it's probably under Options or something like that).  If this does not work, try to go to Microsoft Security Essentialshttp://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Microsoft-Security-Essentials-Download-131683.html where I know that this problem is not happen and see if that solved the problem.

    I hope this helps.

I opened 2 emails that were in the folder spam from my email and that each contained an attachment zip 2 k and 3 KB. As I could not open directly in my email, I opened the zip files with the "open in" another app option. When you open the zip files at this other app asked me if I wanted to extract zip files in a new folder, I have accepted, in both files .js (javascript) files there. My question is: my iPad Air has been compromised by a scam of viruses, such as the Trojan horse thieves and banking password especially as Dridex or Dyreza, the Trojans and ransomware as Locky, cryptolocker, or Teslacrypt. If that were the case, then what is the solution to get rid of these... Thank you.

Simply delete them. It is not possible to install anything on iOS using this method. For good measure, you can remove and reinstall the application allowing you to open it with, but I don't really have that is actually needed.

When I'm trying to register at http://partners.microsoft.com/ using my e-mail address at which I was sure that I registered with Windows Live previously, I am not able to connect. If I try to reset my password, (and I have done this 20 + times, isn't me entering the security bad characters), I told myself that I entered an incorrect e-mail address. If I try and sign up for a new live account in Windows by using this email address, I said that the account already exists!

    Hi CLAUDEFRANCIS,

Microsoft introduces not calls to customers about technical assistance. More than likely the person calling you is a scam. For your protection, do not provide information personal to that person or him allows to access your machine remotely.
