Frozen to the software update blackBerry smartphones
I have a Blackberry Curve 9360 and it is frozen all by doing an update of the software (progress overall backup 13%). It has been like that for the last two hours. I tried to take out the battery, but it just goes back to the same screen when it restarts.
Can anyone help please?
Two options to try:
One:
- Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
- You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
- Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
- If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.
Second:
- Start your BlackBerry in safe mode. Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failure http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
- Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
- IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
- Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
- Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

Update of the software of blackBerry Smartphones keeps freezing
I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 and I try to update the software of 5.0.0.54 5 5.0.0.86 2. Whenever I try to do that it freezes at "downloaded modules 540 534.
Initially, I left the Blackberry at night (about 10 hours) and nothing happened, it was still frozen on '540 534. I restarted my computer and I tried once again: no chance. I restarted my computer and rebooted my Blackberry and turned on my wireless internet to the LAN and still no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I found the solution to my problem and thought I would post it so that he could be of help to others.
After choosing to update software, we see the following screen:
If you choose the option "Show other versions" at the bottom left, we come to this screen:
The second file in this list is the exact same software as the first file on the list. However, the second file installed directly from my hard drive instead of internet. I believe that this file was put in the list of software when I installed the 155MB file that I mentioned in the previous post.
Once I installed the file from my hard drive there is no problem.
I hope it is of some use to someone out there.

Update of the software of blackBerry Smartphones
Hi, my wife has a 9320 BB and I have a BB9900. Whenever a software update is available, I tend to update both at the same time via the BB Desktop Software. (the last being 7.1.2061).
Today I plugged BB9320 my wife to the laptop for the load and the BB Desktop Software identified one update, 7.1.2753. In the end, I have connected my BB9900 but no software updates found, can anyone tell why this should be the case please?
Thank you very much.
Hi londonpride
These device software are developed by BlackBerry, then released by respective carrier specific to each BlackBerry device model, carrier of your wife has published this specific version of the OS for BlackBerry 9320 and for you... you can have the newest software for your carrier device, so you are offered no updates for your BlackBerry 9900.

Online update of the software of blackBerry Smartphones
I tried to update my Pearl using the online software application loader. During the update, I received an error message (fatal error occurs) on the device do not stay connected during the update. Now the phone will not turn on, and when I connect it to my computer to try to complete the update, the computer will not recognize the phone. The red light flashes but nothing happens. Can you please help me.
Assuming that your upgrade failed completely and there is no OS on the device, you can try this:
- Download the new operating system file you want to the PC, then install it on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file. (Vista users make sure to right click on the .exe file, and select 'Run as administrator'.)
- Go to c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
- Plug in BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
If it is still impossible to load the operating system:
You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:
http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
If JL_Cmder does not work, follow this instruction:

Torch died after the last update blackBerry Smartphones
I've just updated the operating system on my torch last night that I went to do other things. It is remained plugged into my laptop at night, period during which the laptop came into fashion 'sleep'. When I opened this morning, the dialog box of BlackBerry says that the update has been completed successfully to the top of the screen. However, I was able to turn on the phone at all. I get no light, no sound, nothing! What are my options?
I should add that my carrier is AT & T.
Welcome to the forums, archaic1too!
Unplug the unit from the PC and remove the battery for a few minutes. Replace the battery and see if the device starts up.

Since the recent update blackBerry Smartphones keyboard problem
I'm sorry, I currently don't have the patience to search the Board of Directors for a duplicate thread. Since the update (which trashed my contact list), my keyboard has become possessed for a lack of a better word. When you tap some keys (e, a, i) they do not register, or the keys that I have not touched the other side of the Commission will act as if they were activated. I restarted my phone, and it may work for a little bit. It is quite frustrating because it's my only way to type. I wish I would have gotten a phone with a real keyboard. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Tech vocabulary will probably go over my head.
Thank you.
In all the wires niveau.148 I read, I did notice users mention problems with the keyboard or the letters do not enter.
You can try this: place a piece of paper, like a card on top of the battery and replace the battery cover. Who help me? Try a piece of paper, if it is slightly thicker or anything that might work for you folded.

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:
Method 1:
- Open the Blackberry Desktop Software and connect your device to your PC with the USB OEM cable and without inserting the battery.
- You will get three options: try again, update or cancel; Click Refresh.
- Once, it is at the stage of initialization of 'pocket', insert the battery.
- If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.
Second method:
- Start your BlackBerry in safe mode. KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

BlackBerry Z10 Z10 "Please wait while your device is the software update and restart"
Sorry if this question has been asked elsewhere but I searched and could not find an answer the applies to my particular situation.
I have a Z10 on Bell who got an automatic update this morning (I have no note of my operating system version number or the version that I was updating to) and the phone is locked to the prompt "Please wait while your device is the software update and restart." Update messages said it would take a lot of time and that I should connect my phone if it was less than 20% of battery.
The Bell's Web site indicates that the version of the software is 10.3.2.2168 and the latest version of the OS is 10.3.2.2252. I don't know how many times this site is updated, but I guess that's the version that I am trying to update?
The phone is not fixed... I can see messages turn on the lock screen and interact with the phone to get a glimpse of these messages, but if I try to unlock the phone, the message block appears above any function, I tried to launch (whether a text message, the camera, an email, etc) and I can't interact with the phone at that time otherwise than to lock again and open the lock screen up.
At the time wherever I drag, the prompt.
The prompt on the phone for about 6 hours now. The battery was full this morning and had exhausted 70%, but I've since plugged.
I have not tried a batt pull because I'm afraid of the consequences of this action after the launch of the update.
Everyone knows this and had the phoen back? I know that 6 hours is well past any reasonable wait times in my books and was strongly tempted to restart the device... but is there here experts who recommended that I continue to wait?
I forgot to mention that the power button was still working to give the ability to power off the unit.
In the end, I couldn't wait any longer. I put off the device "no risk" with the power button, rather than using the battery pull method. I turned on the camera back later and the blackberry logo appeared. The screen faded faded black and no lights appeared on the phone.
I could hit to swipe down to get the blackberry logo to return to the screen, but no startup loading progress screen never wouldn't come.
I could never get to the home screen, but the phone was actually 'ON' below. I could call the phone and it should sound, but there is no visual indication that the phone was working and there was no way to respond. Sliding down to unlock simply revealed the word "blackberry" in the middle of the screen.
I did a Batt pull and this time, the logo appeared as before, but disappeared forever... and then the progress of boot screen appear.
The words 'from 10 Blackberry OS' were visible on the bottom and rotate it beween this and "install updates".
Start-up took a LOT of time (15-20 minutes?) but after that, everything was fine.
Displayed software update version information and it is indeed updated to 10.3.2.2168.

System update blackBerry smartphones
I recently got a new Blackberry because my trackball was faulty and Verizon got sent one since mine was still under warranty. When I got it with the software update, however I didn't have all of the BB sounds, you know like the sounds that come with the BlackBerry. I have barely options of sounds to play when messages are received. I'm really beginning to miss my sounds of front! Help!
You are welcome. If my post has solved your problem, be sure to mark it as the solution and press the laurels (the blue and White Star).

Unable to connect to the software update server (127.0.0.1)

Troubleshooting steps I went through far
- I restarted my mac a few times
- I did some research on Google and messages more speak of iworm, fortunately I could find no trace of an infection by the worm, I scanned my machine using Sphos and ClamXav and haven't found anything relating to iWorm. You can try to disable the Sophos websheild and ClamXav if she has one. Even better would be to uninstall both and test.
FWIW, it is never a good idea to have 2 av programs installed.
