FTP installation

Hi all

I hope someone can help me with something that I'm trying to set up. I have two computers, a Yosemite running and the other running snow leopard. My Snow Leopard computer stays at home and is connected outside some hard drives that House many of my files. I would like to be able to access this computer remotely by using my machine of Yosemite.

I have VNC & Viewer Server and was able to correctly configure those through port forwarding on my router. My problem with this method is at the time when I have a bad connection, this will consume too much bandwidth, because it's a visual interface. Ideally, I would like to use Cyberduck or any other FTP client to connect to my computer for Snow Leopard and just have a list of files and folders in front of me.

So, I turned on FTP access in the sharing pane of system preferences, but of course, the only address it lists is the local 192.168.0.10 subnet address. Now, I thought maybe I could just use the port to VNC Viewer works and access it that way, I opened. For example, if my IP address is 68.146.XXX.XXX and the port, I opened is 1234, then I would connect via FTP using these credentials.

This does not work, unfortunately. I'm looking for, so you all to see if anyone of you have some advice on where I am wrong and that I could do to make it work.

Thank you!

DO NOT USE ftp in this way.  It is much too precarious.

Use SFTP instead via system preferences-> sharing-> remote access connection.  SFTP is SSH based and very safe. CyberDuck must manage the SFTP connections.

Configure the redirection of port port 22.  Make SURE you have a secure user account password.  Easy to remember and type, but make it long like all things being equal elsewhere plus a password is much more secure than a short complex password.

If Cyberduck allows you to specify a destination port SFTP, you can cut down on script-kiddies probe the well-known ssh port 22 trying to connect to root (they make, even if the root is not enabled on OS X systems).  This poll is just an annoyance.  Anyway if Cyberduck will allow to specify a destination port you can have your router forward a high numbered port of your Mac 22 one-way.  For example you tell you the router to listen on port 34567 and direct connection on this port to the port of your Mac 22.  Choose a high numbered path to your taste (less 65 565)

    Thank you, Raja

    Raja,

There are other customers - including a Java program I wrote which can connect to the system - the questions seems to be a combination of libraries and the configuration of the FTP installation on beehiveonline. Us will move it in a new data center soon and the config can change and support fileZilla - ftp.oracle.com works. In the meantime, we are at the mercy of the free offers.

  • How do I & quot; enable & quot; a customer with their KEY?

I have a new client who insisted that they be able to use Contribute as their CMS, no problem with that. So I d/l and finally install the test to see the application itself, and it seems fine for a customer in order to be able to use. I also learned how to connect to the test via the FTP installation site, no problem at all. But the client is quite "evil" when it comes to computers. They said also just "send us the .stc file" that is the KEY and we will use that to configure our version on our computer.

It is, how to generate a such .stc KEY file to send them. In XML, it is simply a string encrypted... but I do not see again I cannot find in any case to build the same thing using the trial version.

Help here guys? Can I do using the TEST, or what I have to buy even? A loss of $ as far as I am concerned, but good, the customer needs the KEY!

    :-)

    Jim

    In the menu go to:

1 edit, manage Web sites, select your site
    2. in the users and roles, select the role, your client will be (Editor fi.)
    3. on the right, click on the button send the connection key
    4. create the key, including the ftp settings
5 save the key to your hard drive and post it the key to your customer (perhaps to be compressed, for some providers the .stc file block)

  • The site does not not properly in Internet Explorer

    Hello
Only, I built my first website using Dreamweaver. I downloaded the files using DW ftp installation. When I type the url in IE, I get a blank page with "Index of /" and then a list of the files in the site. If I click on the index.html file it loads fine and everything works from there.

How can I solve this kind of loading the home page right now?

URL is www.cruickshankcommunications.com if you need to see for yourself.

    The file named index.html? lowercase?

This will work as a default filename on most hosts.

    Hi Daniel,.

Thank you for reaching out to us on this subject. I just responded to you via email as well with more details.

We had to look more closely at the error that you get everywhere.

It seems that the problem occurs because third party shopping widget on your page load a stripped down version of jQuery (the popular JavaScript library) that does not include a method of detecting browser (jquery.browser) which is needed for the sites of Muse:

If you wish to continue using the third party widget, we recommend you reach out to the third party and inform them that if they want to load another version of jQuery that Muse loads by default it must load the entire library.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any clarification.

    Kind regards

  • Thunderbird crashes after installation of vn 38.4. Solved. Cause - bad record?

(This question was published only because I could not respond to existing similar questions without registering first.)

Problem was apparently a Thunderbird randomly hanging after automatic update to 38.4 on Windows 7 Enterprise. The process of dropping out/no response took place a few minutes after start of TB, compose messages, send or download of IMAP mail.

Shortcut to the final solution - probably corrupted files or folders at the OS level.

For those who are conducting similar research I also watched the references linked below.

En route to the solution, various obfuscation were met, all of which were interesting but NONE OF THESE solved the problem of the suspension, namely:

-back to Thunderbird 38.1 extracted from Mozilla's FTP repository

-Disable all modules in SafeMode as suggested in posts below

-deactivation of reminders on calendar, pop ups and sounds like suggested in the posts below

-turn off sounds (in the systray) as suggested in posts below and new mail alerts

-Discover, finally, only one of the half-dozen or so synchronized account IMAPs has caused the problem, which is an account Exchange-synced via the excellent DavMail (Davmail upgrade to the latest version was another diversion)

-assuming that the compaction of TB was not his work and that he is too much vacuum/zombie files left lying around, leading to a redundant cleanup using Thunderfix (http://www.parhelia-tools.com/products/thunderfix/thunderfix.aspx), was nevertheless his cleaning of employment but not a solution

    What worked then...

The procedure of backup profiles recommended TB in Thunderfix and elsewhere led to discover that the copy of Windows has won at least one file during the copy. Suspecting lower level corruption, I ran chkdsk D: /f (since all data are on D: and not on C: with the operating system). No major problems found aprt of 4 files analyzed once again.

I resorted to the use of SynckbackSE to do the backup instead, noting that one of the failures was Junk.msf. That and the knowledge that the account linked to Exchange was the likely to be the culprit, I restarted and deleted everything in IMAPmail\localhost\ (DavMail connects via localhost stored files).

Restart Thunderbird (always on 38.1) and connect via DavMail pulled back all messages and folders from the source Exchange to resynchronize records localhost TB successfully. No need to use backup or same setting of TB.

Will probably now improve return to 38.1 after a period of stability.

After years of use of Thunderbird of the dowry of the year, it's nice to know that it was not primarily at fault.

I'm trying a first installation on a relatively new platform for win7 64 bit. Something about downloads, I wonder for permission to install, to grant him. Installation Wizard opens, decompresses at 60% and disappears. Tried several times, with or without MS security essentials, also in safe mode. Identical results in all cases.

Can't identify anything in event log associated with Mozzila or Firefox (not familiar with tool). Ran AV and Malware scans. Nothing. Don't see anything in Win program removal or Revo Uninstaller to suggest partial installation.

I had problems displaying images/videos, so uninstalled so I could reinstall. Big mistake - since I did it, FF absolutely will not install. The normal installation. Hello. earlier today, I installed mozilla firefox, the stable version of the mozilla Web site. However, my intention was to install firefox aruora. so I uninstalled mozilla firefox and then install aurora. When it starts to install it stops and a message appears indicating that the download was interrupted. I then checked to see if I could install mozilla firefox, which I can without any problem. for some reason firefox aurora will not install on my laptop.

Try to download and install (extract) the aurora 20.0a2 ZIP archive or .exe file, if there is problem with the heel.

  • upgrade fails 3A 15 vom: unpacking OK but the installation does not start

Current version is on my Windows 2000 SP3 my Firefox 3.0.19. I can't update anymore!
    There are two phenomena:
1.) when you use the function "search for updates", it offers a maximum version 3.0.19 upgrade.
2.) when I update manually (for version 15), it unpacks the files correctly but does NOT start the installation program - without ANY error message.

And I can't find any archive version here to try a progressive example version 5 or 10 upgrade, unfortunately. Are there not all archives?... Or what problem you think, I have?...

    Thank you for responding.

15.0.1 Firefox will not install on Windows 2000. Your best bet is to upgrade to Windows XP or later version, or install Firefox 12 of ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/12.0/.

For more information, see Firefox no longer works with Windows 2000 .
