Function mute tab Safari on El Capitan

I just installed El Capitan, and the "speaker" icon does not appear where it is supposed to on Safari in the address bar or on any tab.

It will appear only next to the refresh icon in the URL Panel when you play audio/video content (Youtube, for example).

  • Problem 'tab' Safari in El Capitan

Today I upgraded to El Capitan.  When I open several web pages in safari, the tab is empty - it does not list who's who.  Does anyone know how to solve this problem, so I can see the site in the tab?

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Safari 9 (El Capitan) is to save cookies in private browsing

    Hello

I noticed that Safari 9 (OS X El Capitan) saves cookies when I'm in the private browsing window.

When I visit certain websites (e.g. gizmodo.com) in private browsing, and I close the window, the site cookie is always displayed.

I tried to restart the Mac, but private browsing Safari cookies have not been deleted.

Apple says that: "when you are using a private browsing window: Safari doesn't remember the changes to your cookies or other data from the website." (9 safari (El Capitan): private browsing windows use)

I find this strange because in Firefox or Google Chrome incognito mode deletes cookies when you close the window.

Please try this as a test.

    1 empty Caches

    Safari > Preferences > advanced

Tick the box "Show develop menu in menu bar."

Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.

Click on develop and select 'Empty cache' in the menu dropdown.

    2 Delete Cookies

Safari > Preferences > privacy > Cookies and other data from the website:

    Click on the button "Details".

Delete all cookies except those from Apple, your internet service provider and the banks.

3 safari > file > new private window

    Try the gizmodo.com site.

Safari > Preferences > privacy > Cookies and other data from the website:

    Cookie of Gizmodo appears?

I've tested this and there was no gizmodo stored cookie after you close the private window.

  • Where is History.plist Safari in El Capitan

    I can't find history/plist in El Capitan.

I had problem with typing in Safari Google searches when it won't let a space when you try and add a Word to a search or simnply hangs and stop typing you anything at all, so I want to do the following:

Finder > user account > library > Caches. Move it to the trash, the com.apple.Safari file and folder bookmarks in Caches > metadata > Safari folder. Then, same library, go to the Safari folder, moving in the Recycle Bin, the file History.plist . Now restart Safari and try the URL

Also, where is El Capitan account username please?

    1. nowhere else. Yosemite and more recent use History.db instead.

    2. choose homepage in the Finder Go menu or press menu Option opens and then choose library.

  • Safari 9 (El Capitan) freezes

    Hello

After years of reliability, Safari seems to have stopped working in El Capitan.

I open Safari.   After a few Internet sites, my entire computer is out of memory and I have to force everything quit and restart.

This problem never happens unless I open Safari.  Then it happens in five minutes.   I've been avoiding it by using Firefox without problem.

I did everything I can find online...     My Mac Mini has a maximum memory possible.   Larger hard drive possible.

    -Reset Safari/delete cookies

    -Uninstall all plug-ins...

-I even made TWO total re installed on EL Capitan...

I would be grateful any advice anyone could have.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - activate the menu to develop it, then go ahead and empty Caches. Quit/relaunch Safari and test. Then try Safari/history/Show History and remove all items from the history.  Quit/relaunch Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History... The downside is that it deletes all cookies. It could upset some sites no longer recognizes your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Caches.db, and then move it to the trash.

Go to Safari preferences/Extensions and disable all extensions. Test. If correct, enable the extensions one by one until find you which extension is causing the problem.

  • Safari in El Capitan hangs in a moment after opening

Since this morning (23rd), my Safari (attached to a convenient access to Keychain password) started crashing. The question is, it does not give me a second to do anything, such as disabling plugin etc - at the time I opened (with 2 sec), it crashes and ejects the report screen. It's frustrating.

I pinned tabs (which never ceases the pins more than the first PIN when the reopening, which is a different problem) and a few plugins (Adblock, buffer and Pocket).

Now, I'm moving to Chrome and Firefox, as I have no other go.

Is this why I can inspect the question without opening Safari. Or is it something like uninstall & reinstall Safari. After you migrate for 22 years in MS Windows - it is the first time that I'm facing a mac user 1 year.

  • How can I email a link to a website in Safari using El Capitan?

I just bought a new Macbook Air with El Capitan.  When I'm in Safari, I would like to send links to Web sites, but the only option it gives are to send the actual page.  This feature integrates the contents of the page in my email, which is useful, but sometimes I prefer to just send a link to the Web site.  Older versions of Safari used to do this, so I'll try to understand what gives here, is there a setting I'm missing or something?

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Drain battery/CPU Safari on El Capitan? (2013 retina MacBook Pro)

Recently, I noticed my retina MB Pro 2013 has worked a bit warmer than usual, and when I check the process it seems as if web content safari uses a lot of CPU.  Moreover, when I check the impact of energy, web content safari appears to use a large part (99 +).  It's even when I'm on simple Web pages, such as this one or google homepage.  I tried to delete the caches and reset PRAM and SMC, nothing helps.  This results in significantly reduced battery life and life while they inspected the power in the information system, much of the energy consumption (values of my to--1500 to 2000).   The Estimator gives me an estimate of less than 4 hours when fully charged, when I'd get easily 7-8 before what is going on has begun.  I noticed that when I boot on a guest account, resource consumption does not seem to be messed up like this and Firefox power impact seems to be normal.  Any ideas?
