Functionality of Smartphones BB Torch blackBerry password

I have a new BB Torch 9800 for AT & T, I made a transfer of data from my BB Bold 9700, which was my device when I worked for AT & t. AT & T has the functionality of password enabled by default that we where not able to disable. When I did the data transfer now the Torch 9800 has activated the password feature and I can not turn it off, (turn off). Is it possible to cancel it on my torch so I didn't keep after entering a password? Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Because you have done a complete data transfer, looks like everything (including your COMPUTER strategies) may have moved. I assume that you no longer work for AT & T and it is now your new device, correct? If so, follow the steps described in the following link to remove the COMPUTER strategies.

http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB14202

You are going to have to use method 3, but make sure that you back up all your data first.

Once you have done that, you can perform a selective restore of your data. restore only the databases, you must (Contacts, etc.). Then you should be all set.

I hope that helps!

The browser comes as part of the core OS BB on the device, but depending on the level of the OS, it may or may not be able to operate without an adequate data plan subscription. Some (most recent) OS levels allow the browser to function very well via WiFi BB only, while others limit the browser race strictly via BIS (even when WiFi is the data connection only). Opera can be installed on the BB as a replacement browser and normally works very well when WiFi is available. Many 3rd party applications have parameters of configuration inside of them to direct the application to use BIS, BES, WiFi, etc. for their course of data... we must be sure to have the apps configured correctly to allow them access to a functional way, especially when BIS is not due to no data plan subscription.

    See for general guidance:

It is not quite fully updated for the newer operating system levels (see above re: BB browser), but it is generally reasonable to use.

Other than BBM and SMS (in newer versions of PB/BB/bridge), I don't know any way to run, your PB, whatever your BB at all. On the BB, he has the ability to remote control of the PB (via Bridge of BB), but not the other way around as far as I understand. Since you will not subscribe bis, you won't have BBM anyway.

It is not in itself a function of the smartphone... but rather the version of the desktop software that is in use.

  • Q10 Q10 10.3.2 Blackberry BlackBerry password ID issues

    01:14
Hi, I need help with the Blackberry ID related issues. I recently got a Blackberry from my brother who went to the army where it is limited to use only a device equipped photo of Q10 Q10. Before moving to me, it has disabled Blackberry Protect and delete his personal data and I created my new Blackberry ID associated with my email of the company. However, as has happened the weekend, I couldn't "confirm" my email of the company (Blackberry ID) within 72 hours, and I refreshed the email confirmation, but for some reason, the BlackBerry ID password is incorrect and I can't 'confirm' the new password. Now when I click on BlackBerry ID of parameters, it is said; BlackBerry locked ID
BlackBerry ID password was entered several times incorrently. For security, your account has been locked. If you need create a new password, press Reset. When I clicked "Reset", there was a Question of recovery of the password when I recognize established when I created my BlackBerry ID. Because I can't recognize such a Question of safety, I can't go forward. Can you please what is happening or what I did wrong?

    Here is the information on BlackBerry ID of 'settings ';
BlackBerry ID username: my email company (not my brother ID more)
First & last & pseudonymous: my good names (not my brother more)
    Status of Confirmation e-mail: "unconfirmed".

    And here's what I did after I got on the phone;
    1. I have set up my new BlackBerry ID at the stage of initial configuration without a SIM card inside.
    2. I have never 'confirm' email (BlackBerry ID) within 72 hours. And since then, I can't email confirmation.
    3. I use Q10 with connections wifi at home & work.
    4. I finally incerted my SIM card, but I can't access the BlackBerry World.
    5. I took out my SIM card.
    6. Although I could never "confirming" State ID of BlackBerry, BlackBerry Protect is ON (enable) and I can't turn it off (keeps prompting the BlackBerry ID password associated with my email of the company and it is incorrect)
    7. I do not recognize the "recovery password (security) issue".

I read on internet that with BlackBerry Protect 10.3.2 feature is ENABLED, data wiping is useless without the BlackBerry ID password and it always will make the phone unusable. So I'm stuck...
At this moment, what I can do? And who instituted the "BlackBerry Password Recovery/Security Question in the first place?" I had to 'Confirm' the status of e-mail before using the phone? Can I go ahead and wipe my Q10 without knowing the 'BlackBerry ID password' or 'The password recovery Question?' I would be able to implement the new BlackBerry ID and the new password with my email of the company again? I'm just afraid that I'll do my Q10 permanently out of use. And what is locked BlackBerry ID (account)?

Sorry for writing such a long message, but I just don't know what to do now...

  • BlackBerry smartphones cannot update BlackBerry Curve 8520 5.0

I am a new BlackBerry user, then I begin to use Curve 8520 version 4.6.1.314 4.2.0.135 with 22519E9E PIN platform. I am located in the Philippines and my provider is Globe Telecom. My problem is that I can't update my device to 5.0. I tried using the desktop software first, and I get a message that my device is the latest version of the software. Then I tried to use the update of the web and this time I get a connection error message and finally I also tried the other Option which is to download the software for device supported by my provider, I saw three options and downloaded them all and then install in my PC (two v4.6 and a 5.0). Then I start my desktop software, but this time I had an option to update my device 4.6. I want it's upgrade to 5.0 so I tried again through webupdate, but I'm also the option to upgrade to 4.6. I tried to delete the folder for sharing of Research in Motion folder search in program file folder/Common leader/research in motion/shared then tried to update again via deskstop and web / two 4.6 version but I got the same result at my first attempt to update my device... I really need someone to help me with my problem. I am unable to install facebook 1.6 and unable to connect to YNM applicatio that's why I wanted to update my device to 5.0. I would appreciate any help... Thanks in advance...

You can use a device OS from another carrier package - just something. But... things you said intrigue me. You know for certain that you have a Blackberry data plan in place on your BB? This is crucial... without the correct data plan, nothing you try will not work, including (like me) try to install and use the device OS v5.0. Please check with your provider you have as good data plan then that allows access to all the functions and features of the Blackberry Internet Service. The messages you see tell me that you do not have access to BIS.

  • Reset password for Blackberry Torch blackBerry Smartphones

How do back in my Blackberry Torch if I don't remember the password. I bought a new phone and had this flashlight in a drawer. My adult son has lost its smartphone so I was going to allow him to use the BB. When he put a new SIM in it the BB wants a password and I have no idea what it is, in fact, I thought I had wiped the own BB as I thought to sell. Helps that I don't care if my info is on it. I just unlocked so that it can use it.

    Hi Shopppr.

Hello to your solution, you can write the word Blackberry you ask the password but can memorize introudce incorrect password several times then try more than 10 times, when you type the displayed word written Blackberry.

This will make your blackberry then do do you a factory reset to leave the Blackberry completely as she came back without password to reset and let him do the whole process you can put the SIM card from your operator.

Now you can enjoy your Blackberry once more.

    Kind regards.

  • Functionality of Smartphones MemoPad blackBerry Torch 9810

I bought Action Pad, an application of security for memos but ran into problems, so I deleted the application, including the content.  I thought that I still had the memos that I was entered in Notepad before you buy the Pad Action, including categories, but while I can see the categories I don't see memos.  They are saved in the Notes of my Mac e-mail program functionality, but despite the timing, the notes do not appear in the BB Torch 9810.  What is curious is that the notes that I deleted the notes / Apple Mail, appear in the Notes when I synced, if clearly memos are in the BB Torch.

I'm assuming that when I downloaded the Action Pad app, the encryption thing hidden my memos.  I'm not technologically savvy, so even if I saw something in the BB torch that will reveal the contents of the notebook, I need someone to tell me exactly what to do!

    Help please

Please open your memos on the BlackBerry and press Menu > filters and make sure that NONE of are checked.

    Uncheck all filters.

    See them now?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Invalid email and password on blackberry 9790

I have been using everything ok through POP3 email on my blackberry for the last six months and then all of a sudden yesterday asked me to check the password that I tried to do it but the only message I get, is that my user name or password is invalid.  This is not the case, as I am with the same username and password on outlook and my Ipad and these work perfectly. Can anyone help?

We had a problem with our email on Wednesday, it is now sorted and the passwords have not been changed.

I tried the hard reset, tried to set up online service, free books works and still will not accept the good user name and the password.  It's driving me crazy!

    Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

Please help me

OK, I can't say enough. But I'm like described KB as a lack of policy is NOT what you have, which means that you have a COMPUTER policy on your device. It's just weird because I've never seen a COMPUTER policy like what you describe, but then of course I have not seen anyone.

So, I think (it's more than that, actually) is that you do indeed have a policy COMPUTER on your device that may well be the reason for the failure of the installation, you encounter.

If it's a working or otherwise associated with certain BES service device, then you need to talk to anyone who provides the BES service on your problem... they control what is the it policy.

If this is not a working device and/or you do not subscribe to any service of BES-level from anyone, then the conjecture is that you have received this camera as previously used, and the previous owner didn't properly clean the it policy, leaving you with a latent policy causing you these problems. To remedy this situation, you must make sure you have a full backup, according to the link in my sig auto on my posts. Then proceed you to this:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Once finished, your device will be like new again, with nothing on it... No. data, no added applications, etc. If you continue to restore the backup, do not forget that you DO NOT make a simple full restore... restore instead, only those databases that you need (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and more precisely to avoid any database that have nothing to do with BES, business, political, etc. If you restore that contains the it policy, it he will dutifully restore your BB and you will be right where you are now.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones address email and password

My Blackberry Torch was stolen recently.  Now that I got my new camera and everything seemed to work OK.  I received emails addressed to it and who is "pushed".  I tried to download an app and had my Blackberry ID need I entered.  She would not accept my new password - so I asked to reset - but the email they were supposed to be sent to my blackberry address did not!  Does anyone have ideas, what can I do now?

Oh okay Ouch, the using the blackberry.net email account is not good. These emails cannot be found or read any where, but on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Personally, I never recommend using blackberry.net for this main reason e-mail accounts.

My best suggestion is to get a gmail or yahoo account for free and create a whole new BlackberryID.

Then, call your mobile operator Orange and ask them to bring this problem to RIM level two level tech support and get your old account merged or moved to the new BlackBerryID.

Yes, it's complicated. But it's the only way I see possible... all this because of the password reset. Yuck, indeed.

  • Screen blackBerry Smartphones BB Torch 9800 freeze

My mother and I have upgraded to a BB Torch 9800 about 10 hours ago from Wal-Mart and so far the screen froze on me six times, and the only way I can understand how to solve this problem is to give the phone a hard reset.

What is happening is that we are in the middle of something, as the alarm setting or by choosing a wallpaper, and the device cannot return to the previous screen, or exit from this screen at all. We can change the parameters of the task that we do, but we can not save or return. The keys are block.

And no, we did not yet have the ability to set a password yet. I thought that maybe it was caused by the Otter Box by pressing the locking button, but it happens even when the Otter Box is off.

We two are new to BB and smartphones in general, having Samsungs for a few years. My freeze has happened twice in the last hour, and I can't for the life of understand me why.

    Info on the device:

    Carrier: AT & T

    BlackBerry Torch 9800

    Free file: 318787616 bytes

No Apps or not downloaded music, only the texts and calls attempted.

    $15 data plan

    There 9.

OK, this sounds like faulty software in this case.  It is possible to reload the operating system if you want to try it, but if you would rather simply exchange for another, I could definitely see that as well.

If you try to reload the operating system, you can do so by following the steps located here:
