• Wall charger for Sansa Fuze?

  Hello, I hope you do well.

  I'm trying to help my father to buy a wall charger for its Sansa Fuze (I gave it to him as a birthday gift, but he doesn't have a computer and needs a wall charger). What type of wall chargers should I watch? I believe that it will take a standard USB charger or a standard mini-USB charger, but I would like to know which of the two. This one or this one , or this one works?

  It's easy!  Nice find, incidentally.  The first link you provided is a clone of the charger folding-plug Motorola phone, with a standard USB plug which must be plugged into the cable of SanDisk Fuze.

  This is the type of desired wee beastie.  Basically, if it has a standard USB plug, it is hard to go wrong, with one exception: If the "rocket" shows "connected" while it is plugged into the wall charger, there is a link with the data pins in the charger (some readers MP3 need this, but the Sansa doesn't).

  The other two Chargers shown have what looks like a mini-B, usable for Sansa Clip USB connector.

  In addition, avoid Chargers with the connector 30 spare pins which do not expressly assert that this is a cable compatible SanDisk Sansa, there are has many iPod Chargers offering a Connector 30 end pins which resembles that of SanDisk, but they're going to FRY the Sansa.  IPod connections are distinguished by the Sansa ones.

  My wife has a Sansa E260 and a wall charger and car Griffin Technologies. The connector that plugs into the E260 is identical to that on my rocket. Can I use these Chargers with my rocket? Thank you.

  In my opinion, they are the same.  I use the same USB cable for my E280 and the rocket without any problem.

• Sansa e260-how know when FULLY charged battery

  I just bought a Sansa e260 MP3 player. I have connected to my PC around 16:00, and it is now about 19:00 and the device is always showing the bit at the bottom right - battery indicator green flashing: past left right and to the right of the battery icon, there is a constant display of what appears to be a lighter yellow icon.

  Can someone please tell me how do you know when the battery is fully charged to the top?

  Thank you all for your very thoughtful advice. I didn't feel OK with the unit, so I returned it and got a Sansa Fuze - 4 GB, and it works like a charm on the same port. I'm very happy with it.

  Go to settings > Info. If the top line (firmware version) starts with V01. XX. XX you have a v1 model. If it starts with V03. XX. XX you have a v2.

• Computer does not recognize my Sansa e260

  I run Windows 7 Home Premium. My MP3 player is a Sandisk Sansa e260.

  Normally, to charge the Sansa, I've just plug it into a USB port on the computer. It is immediately recognized and loading begins.

  Today, while I was out walking the dog, the Sansa ran out of juice. So when I got home I plugged the computer in the usual way. The computer does not know that it existed. It didn't start to load, it does not appear as a drive in Windows Explorer.

  I rebooted the computer with the trendy Sansa. No improvement. I ran "Find the hardware changes" on the USB entry in Device Manager. No change.

  I tried the Sansa in computer from Vista to my wife (who also accused there from time to time). Same result - the computer does not recognize the Sansa.

  Any ideas, please?

  Try performing a reset before you plug it into your computer to charge. There may be just enough juice left for this.   You may have a bad file that confuses the firmware as it tries to start.

  Can connect you to your computer? (Preferably in MSC mode.)

  If this does not work, you will have to Format and delete all of your files. (If you can connect, make copies first - but when you reload, reload only a little at a time if you don't put a bad once again.)

  If you can establish a connection to MSC, right click on the drive of the unit (X (any letter): Sansa E200) and choose the Format to FAT32.

• Problem loading of Sansa e260

  Hello, I bought 2 Sansa e260 player of Tiger Direct in January. One as one gift, one for my son. We work very well, but the other will not charge. I now have the element of return.  Since he ordered last January, was referred by Tiger to Sansa support.

  When it is plugged in, the lightning flashes, indicating that it is in charge? The problem may come from the battery... or it could be the charging circuit in the player. There is only one way to know, and that is to buy a new battery & try it.

  You can find replacement on eBay or Amazon for shipping incl. batteries. $10 / $20.

  Come to think of it, if you can lift the other away from your son for a while, you can replace the batteries in order to isolate the problem before spending money on a farm only to find the circuit load in the other player is fried.   Looks like the unit is in communication, according to your description.  Mode MSC, it will appear as two logical drives, the internal memory is the first and the microSD card post as the second.  In MTP mode, it will be as a device ID so that access you it through Windows Explorer.

  You have a Windows 7 platform to work with, you can put the device in MSC mode and check the volume for errors.  This can be found via the option Manage in my computer, or by using the chkdsk command line utility in Windows.

  01.01.11 version is the oldest e200 firmware.  Perhaps, you could install the latest firmware, version 24 here.  I would try using Recovery Mode, you can also format the device using the internal format of the units.

  Since you talk about Ubuntu, I can assume that you are at least somewhat competent to tinker.  The only case where the device may be zorched is if the reserved partition is formatted in Recovery Mode, then Ubuntu is the tool of choice, using e200tool.

  To retrieve the device, shart with it off and slide the HOLD switch on the e200 to right (orange list).  Press in and hold the REC button of the side laft in the connection (or log in recovery mode to turn on the unit with the REC button still depressed, then connect).

  A word of warning!  The device using Windows Explorer, you'll see a new icon, 16 MB FORMAT.  Do NOT attempt to format the partition using the command Format Windows, because it clears the critical data!

  Double-click the 16 MB FORMAT icon to open the reserved partition.

  Since the thread that I linked above, download the two files and unzip them.  Place these two files in the open window, the pp5022.mi4 and BL_SD.rom and add a new twist: right click and select new folder. Rename this folder sansa.fmt and leave this empty file along side the two firmware files.

  Replace the left hold switch and unplug.  Your e200 will update and reformat in one step.

  If all else fails, time for some Potatoes.  Your machine NAND flash module is on a daughter card.  It can unplug it!  Remove the back cover and look at the top, a raised rectangle.  In this context, you will see a gray foam block.  Give him a gentle push down to reinstall the connector on the circuit board.

  As an OAF total and partly from the frustration of trying all other patches such as the upgrade and downgrade the firmware, I formatted the device using Vista I don't KNOW I WILL BURN in HELL for THIS.  This patient can be saved or I kill him?  It irritates not me that I had to go through all fluctuations just to FIX my new Sansa e260.  OK, I feel better having written that.  Then, all the solutions?  (Yes I did the firmware of the copy and the sansa.fmt without result). • Sansa e260: screen goes blank

  I have a Sansa e260 for about 3 months now, and it has recently stopped working.

  Here is what happened; After I finished putting the music in it, I unplugged the computer, and she has refreshed the database, as always. Only this time, the screen is blank after you refresh the database. If I pressed the power button for a few seconds, it turns off, and when I turn the back refresh the database and then shuts down.
