G000-TouchSmart15-HP: cannot open zip files
I've recently updated to Windows 10. Since then, I was able to extract information from the important work of zip files that I downloaded. They are for most of the photos for sale, but I contacted my employer and the problem is not at their end help!
Thanks for all the help. Turns out I missed 1 vital button. Rookie mistake.

Cannot open .zip files after AutoUpdate
I recently had an automatic windows update and since then I can't open .zip files and my files wihtin a folder have been reorganized without doing me anything. When I try to open the .zipfiles (which were downloaded on the internet July 2010) w Internet explorer tries to oppen a component but done this several times per second, so I get white flashes but no connection. I don't know what they opened with before. The only way I can stop the flashing windows (which eventually come with the message "not responding" is to restart the computer. However if I try to get on the internet, normally there no problem. Some of the text files, are some of the videos. Before this recent update, I never had a problem opening these files. Can you please help.

Windows 7 cannot open zip files
I'm almost certain that, in the past, my Dell Inspiron 580 with Windows 7 could open zip files.
Last month I had to replace my internal hard drive and reinstall Windows from the disks that I bought from Dell. Now when I try to open a zip file I downloaded, I have an alert that says that Windows Explorer is unable to open it.
I see a lot of different programs, you can buy or download free, claiming to allow you to decompress the files. Isn't Windows supposed to be able to open zip se files?
Is there any downloadable for free, zip file openers that work with Windows 7 64 bit?
Hello Jumprun,
Compress or decompress files isn't windows features. Software of third party such as WinZip, WinRAR, 7Zip are used to compress and decompress files. You can download them by clicking the program you want to download.
WinZip
WinRAR
7zip I hope this helps! -
Windows 7 and cannot open zip files-
When I download something (gooreader) and try to open. It is said to open with WinZip. Also said I have to buy WinZip. Another way to open a .zip file?
Joanne1789,
- Download the file by choosing option 1 (save). It was my option 2 IE (open, save, save under).
- At the location where you saved the file (downloads?) you should see the file, I think its called "gooreader4.zip".
- As you have not specified the source that you download from, run an AV scan on it.
- Simply click on the zip file and it should open like a normal folder.
- Inside are the installation (setup.exe and gooreadersetup.msi) files
- Double-click on gooreadersetup.msi and it should install. If it does try Setup.exe.
If all goes well who should install it.

CANNOT OPEN. FILES WITH WINDOWS EXPLORER ZIP
Hi all I was wondering why I can't open the zip files more using windows Explorer. Pourrait last week. When I double click or write, click Open, nothing happens. If I write click Open with windows Explorer, nothing happens. If I write a click and chose the extract, it will extract the screen then I press extract all an error message comes up saying the .zip file is not valid. Running windows 8. have winrar installed so I can open these files in this way. I was wondering how is it doesn't work with windows Explorer. Can still make .zip files to click with the right button on a file and choose compress to zip file but can't open it unless I use winrar.
Finally found the problem I have an app windows 8 called windows manager 8 one of the many parameters is to disable windows to open zip files, this has been activated...

"Extraction failure: cannot open output file" error message when installing new drivers
Hello, I am trying to install new drivers for my HP Photosmart C4385 printer. I downloaded the complete drivers of features for Windows XP 32-bit, and when I start to install (extract), I get the error message:
Extraction failed
Cannot open output file
And the process ends. He arrived at about 85% extraction every time.
No idea why? I called HP, but no longer under warranty they wanted money, which I think as absolutely ridiculous - not even give me basic support? Poor, poor customer service.
Hi GIJeff12,
Temporarily disable any AntiVirus/Antispyware software.
Cut the installer on your desktop then click on the Start Menu, click computer, double-click on the C: drive and paste the installler here. Now try a right click on the installer for your printer, choose 7-Zip and choose Extract the files, and then click Ok. If the installation program extracts now correctly, follow these steps. If it does not extract, let me know.
Disconnect your printer from the PC. Restart your PC.
Open the newly extracted folder and double-click the setup application to start the installation (the installation application will probably have the same icon as the original installation software that you downloaded). Connect the printer to your computer when you are asked.
If it was a success, re - enable your security software.
Best wishes

Hello
Recently, I downloaded a zip file and when I right click on it I don't have an option to extract everything. Instead, I got an option 'open with '. It was the "Windows cannot open this file:I used the utility zip several times. All of a sudden it will not work.
I went to default programs to try to re - associate the zip with the files. At the location of zip into the folder, the associated program was unknown.
That's happened? How can I fix it? Why windows updates do not resolve these problems?

Click on the link-get "Windows cannot open the file" select a program?
After clicking on link get "Windows cannot open this file" have to manually "selecta program programs installed" Firefox appears as a choice and I double-click. How can I solve this problem / eliminate these extra steps
? Thank you Joe
I am running Windows XP, MS office Outlook 2007Is it a link in an e-mail message in Outlook? This problem arises from time to time.
While Firefox can usually set himself as the proper application to open the URL, you click in other programs, settings are sometimes blur or do not take. This article has tips to solve this problem: setting Firefox as the default browser does not work - what to do. Anything there help?
If the problem persists, is there something special about how you start Firefox? For example, you have this launch in a security 'sandbox' or virtual machine? You have all the command-line options set to allow several simultaneous sessions of Firefox, or call the Profile Manager? If none of this sounds familiar to you, the answer is probably not.

I have not "C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2005\VCNET\Include" because my laptop is 64-bit.
Hello
If you see the file Readme VISA 15, you'll see that Visual Studio 2005 is not supported. It seems that the most recent version of VISA that supports VS 2005 is Version 5.2 for c# / VB.NET and 5.0.2 for MFC C++ (with Measurement Studio 2009).

When I start my computer, I get this error message:
Windows cannot open this file: GLBD4EA.tmp
To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. Windows can go online to look for automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs installed on your computer.
What do you do?
-Use the web service to find the appropriate program
-Select a program from a list of installed programsNo selection works for me. I don't know what concerns the .tmp file, or why I need to open it.

Whenever I go under MYItlab to download my homework with which he recorded zipper. But before he recorded them with Microsoft. Now when I go to open them in my USB it is said that they are corrupt and wont open. How to open up with Microsoft? How can I open zipped files?
Quote your version of Windows.
If the files are download as zip files, then this is your school that provides in this way. Windows inherently knows how to handle zip files. She treats them like "compressed" files Just save the zip file to a folder, and then open Windows Explorer and double-click them.

Windows 2008 R2 - I just started getting this when I connect, and also when I try to manage the machine:
MMC cannot open the file:C:\Windows\system32\ServerManager.mscIt is perhaps because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you don't have sufficient access to the file.It always worked before and work for other users simply not me on this particular area. It is a production company, and I need a quick resolution please. Thanks in advance.PMHello
