G4-2306la Pavilion: burned speaker

Order to understand, my laptop is 2-3 years, and it is obviously out of warranty. I been dealing with this problem almost for a year that I have not found a solution online.

What has happened, is that as far I remember, I played music (no, I don't like pop music) and I did not notice that the SRS/Dolby effects included in Windows Media Player have been activated, I don't remember if they have been enabled by default or I manually has enabled, I don't budge any slider low or equalized the output anyway.

After a few music reading then the right speaker did not have all the sounds at all, but curiosily there is no smoke or any sign of the combustion chamber itself. Although he used for the sound from time to time, but the sound came out with a loud sound.

It lasted like 1 month until it finally no longer works, and since then I've been listening to music with the left speaker, of course with disabled WMP improvements and so on. Music playback is ok with headphones is not the sound card. I tried to downgrade to Windows 7, installed all the drivers that are usually in some odd folder in C:, installed Windows 8.1 new, installed Ubuntu 14.04 and there is no sound from the right speaker.

It must have been ever happened because that audio drivers hp (of shit) should protect the speakers from the peaks of noise audio and things related. I have even use VLC or all these software with an amplifier built-in; I was not to remove any driver who came out of the box with my computer and no, I have not forgotten any driver when I reinstalled Windows again (IDT audio, ethernet, wifi, bluetooth, graphic, SD, synaptics, usb 3.0 drivers drivers card reader and so on).

It would be possible to fix it myself? I don't want to take my laptop to an HP support center, mainly because: 1) it is expensive for me (I'm from Mexico) and my laptop is out of warranty and 2) this is my daily driver pc.

Thank you.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post on how your monitor produces a buzzing sound, but not the audio, and that the computer speakers stopped working when Pandora froze to your system. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

To correct the problem with your audio system, I recommend that you follow the steps described in this document on the no sound from speakers or headphone (Windows 7). I also suggest the following steps to diagnose the health of your monitor more:

Step 1. Unplug the power cord at the back of the screen and the wall
Step 2. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute
Step 3. Plug the power cable in the monitor, and then to the wall outlet
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the factory reset option and select
Step 6. Try a different cable to connect your monitor to your computer

If the steps above did not resolve your issue, you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the problem persists. If your monitor is not always able to produce sounds, please call our technical support at the 800-474-6836. • My laptop speaker grilled

    Hi all

My laptop is a HP Pavilion g6-1220SA and it is old about 2 yearls.

On Saturday, I was editing some videos and playback, heard a noise grinding, which was followed by a black smoke coming out of the vent to the left speaker.

I have the PC off, removed the battery and left for a while. He had a disturbing burnt plastic smell.

Today, I took the time to disassemble the laptop (Kudos to HP for the provision of comprehensive manuals) and it seems to me that the only thing that is not OK is the left speaker, which seems burned.

My questions on the forum, before taking the machine to a repair center are:

    (1) what are the causes involved burn like that?

    (2) it is likely that something is wrong with your laptop and the burning speaker is a symptom rather than the main problem?

    Photo linked here:

Finally, I see that the speakers are connected by a pair of white wires and reading that is soldered in. If I remove a speaker, I have to get out them both. If I do that, I will always get the 3.5 mm headphone jack sound?

    Thank you!

    @NP_Lima

    Hi all

I replaced the speakers and the situation seems to have returned to normal.

Later in the day, I again heard the creaking sound from the left speaker (even I heard before she grilled), all using Windows Movie Maker. I immediately cut the PC.

I plugged in the headphones and found that the noise was there as well. My conclusion is that something has been the cause of the problem before the sound reached speakers/headphones. I decided to re - install the audio drivers.

Previously, I had the IDT HD audio drivers. I uninstalled them and when the PC came back on the standard audio driver of Windows 8 is currently in use. I have no problems in the days that followed.

  • install dvd burner lightscribe Pavilion in my HPEnvy Phoenix

How can I install burner lightscribe dvd supermulti/cd of drivers of my old HP Pavilion a6500f to my new pc to HPEnvy Phoenix 810 - 150se dt

    Hello

The Lightscrbe in your old PC Player uses a SATA connection by the HP documentation.  These HP published instructionswill show you how to add a second optical drive. Look for the extra power connector near the existing optical drive.  You will need to buy a SATA data cable and then plug it into an empty SATA port on the system board.  Use one of the empty SATA 3 Gb/s ports. See the image below.   You can consider wearing a latex medium weight glove to avoid scratches and cuts on the hands.

The last issue is to install the LightScribe system software.  Try to reinstall underlying lightscribe systembefore installing your burning software.  In addition, you will need an application that will support Lightscribe.  Burning CD/DVD from Cyberlink or Roxio applications should support optical drives Lightscribe.

    No reason?

Is there any burning software can be installed in my pc?

    Hello:

I'm surprised that the software did not work.

    See if this version works...

This package provides CyberLink Power2Go in the supported models running a supported operating system. CyberLink Power2Go is a burning software that allows users to burn data, music or video disks. It offers support for CD, DVD, HD DVD and Blu - ray discs and includes features for disk copy.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp75001-75500/sp75302.exe

If that doesn't work either, I like this free software... I install the version without open candy.

The specifications of product software for your model, indicates that it does not come with any software CD/DVD burning.

  • No its speaker - Pavilion dv7

    Hello

My HP Pavilion dv7 had no noise from speaker for the last 4 days. The headphone jack works fine, but there is no sound on the speakers of the laptop.

I did a Hard Reset - this has not solved the problem. I also tried to use the IDT Audio installer in accordance with the instructions in this post: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio-e-g-Windows-8/No-internal-speaker-sound-on-...

This problem did not correct the problem, but I also can't follow correctly the instructions that I have Windows 7 Home Premium - the ability to disable the autopilot Installer on reboot the computer after you remove the IDT Audio driver seems impossible (I have not found a post on the internet forum which successfully disabled the installation of the automatic pilot for the Home Premium edition).

The number of my Pavilion dv7 product is: QC370PA #ABG

How can I get the speakers to work?

    Thank you

He is currently working. After several reboots and nothing happens in the course of the last two days, I started the battery specifications this morning and it was scientifically. Not sure if from the battery rather than power makes the difference - it's the only other thing I did since your last recommendation.

    Thanks for the help.

  • No internal speaker sound on Pavilion dv7

Since this morning I have no sound from the internal speakers of HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook. Connect headphones and speakers, both internal and external and headphones. Check all the settings and the Device Manager - o.k. all running Windows 7.

    Hello

First, try a Hard Reset as follows.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery, connect the power adapter and start Notepad.

If the problem persists, try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp52501-53000/sp52658.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box to enable this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click 'Speakers and headphones' once, highlight it, and then click the Set Default button - has this made a difference?

    Kind regards

    Hello

Optical drive should certainly be able to burn CDs without modification.  If you want to check, you can visualize all the multimedia capabilities of your optical drive using the free app at the following link.

It's a HP Pavilion laptop with realtek hd audio and beatsaudio, 2 months old. How to stop?

    Hi there @dpa1956,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I looked into the problem you are having with your sound.

When you connect headphones, can you still hear the audio problem?

    Did you recently Windows updates?

Have you tried to disable the speakers in and then to Device Manager?

Please test the speakers of the laptop in another room, building or even outdoors. Make sure you than any other electric device not nearly the laptop that can cause interference (for example, cell phones).

I found a document called increasing or decreasing the Volume distorted the Audio (Windows 8). This document gives you a suggestion that may be useful for the distortion of your sound.
