G4010

My G4010 Scanjet will not scan. He started all of a sudden... don't know why. Printing to a printer directly, it will not scan a document. Buttons on the front will not work. I tried to print & Scan doctor... He said that it is "Unable to communicate with HP scanning software" errors are HP Scanner Twain, HP Scan Manager stream. . Missing component.

I removed all the software and tried the CD that comes with it... still will not work. Then I went to HP site and got the COL17086_RevC and tried.

Any ideas?

Hi @chazz99 / @chazz999 I thought that it would be preferable to mention the two user names to make sure get you a notification that I answered. Sorry, you have worked so hard to get back into your account to original, but glad you figured it out. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Alabama!

Now that you are back and ready to address this issue again, I suggest to try the following steps to see if we can solve the problem before resorting to a new installation of the operating system.

  1. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the dialog box run, type %temp%
  2. Delete all files and folders in the temp folder. Choose Skip if all pop ups seem to say all files cannot be deleted
  3. Uninstall the software again - software uninstallation Instructions
  4. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer
  5. Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.

  • HP Scanjet G4010 Windows 7 software problem

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 and installed the latest drivers and software for my old scanjet G4010.  It will scan using the button on the scanner, but I can't adjust scanning settings (picture of quality, where the harvest, etc.).

BUT the scanner software does not work. This brings me through the installer without any problems until it reaches the actual scan wick. By clicking on finish, there is no process of scanning, and nothing is recorded. Have you tried several places, but... nothing.  Not in a satisfactory way, such that it has reduced what was a versatile workhorse to a silent photocopier.

    Is there a solution?

    Hi Paul2001,

I understand that since the upgrade your OS to Windows 7, you are no longer able to use the scanning software.

I would like that you start here: 'No. Scan Options' or "scan settings are not defined", that will guide you through the troubleshooting steps and also the possible solutions.

I would like to know if it was useful, if you have more questions please let me know.

  • ScanJet g4010 - software do not install windows 8.1 - 64 bit

I recently had to upgrade my computer - I have a HP Pavilion with Windows 8.1 (64-bit).  I have a ScanJet G4010 and can't do the drivers/software to install.  I've disabled my anti-virus (McAfee) and downloaded.  When I click to open the download it asks my permission to change settings, etc... and that's all.  It won't go any further.  Any suggestions?

In fact, I found and installed the new scanning HP for Windows 8.1 software - which is HP Scan and Capture (you can buy it in the outlook store).  It seems to have solved my problem and my scanner works fine.  Now, I just have to settle with the new software.

  • For Scanjet G4010 scanner software

I used a G4010 with Win XP and when I changed to Win7 the scanner software will not work. I get the message of the solution Center HP that installation is not complete. Scanning works in Windows mode, but now I can't scan slides and negatives. I downloaded fron HP homepage upgrades.

The software you use, mini, likely out of date for Win7. Follow the link below, then select your operating system (you need to know if it's 32-bit or 64-bit).

  • G4010 Scanner is no longer save scans since updating to OS x 10.9

My G4010 scanner is unable to save the scans since the upgrade to Maverics. The OSX drivers also seem to, have been removed from the support web page. I can scan using Adobe Acrobat, which still uses the HP interface. Image capture reports no scanner available.

    Hi disteele,

Unfortunately the scan software "TWAIN"-based on the oldest HP is not supported on the Mavericks. "."  Please click here for the software, you must install to scan using Capture of Image.

  • SJ G4010 communicates only with the HP scanning software

Now, I have the same problem as others.  I am running win xp pro.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the software (HP Solution Center) because I wasn't able to scan from Corel Presentations, I could do with my old HP scanning 4470c SJ.

Now, when I try to open HP Solution Center's, I get the following message:

"No HP devices have been detected.  HP Solutions Center's will be closed

When I try to acquire an image from the scanner when I'm in HP PhotoSmart first or in Corel presentation I get this message:

"Unable to communicate with HP scanning software. Please check that it has been installed and working properly.  If the problem persists please closed your application and try again. »

Of course, it does not solve the problem.

After this error message I get an additional error in HP PhotoSmart first stating:

    'Invalid Twain State'.

It is interesting I can scan from in MS Paint and also MS multimedia library of MS Office 2007, which means that the scanner works.  I can also use the scanner with MS scanner and Camera Wizard.  The problem seems to be in the inability of the HP software to detect the scanner.

    Any ideas?

OS - win xp pro sp3

This blog has solved my problem of communication between the HP and my G4010 scanner solution Center:

    http://hpanswers.blogspot.com/2007/12/no-HP-devices-detected-HP-solution.html

The solution is to download the latest software on the HP ftp site and rub all the residual Scanner HP program remains on your hard drive or your registry before attempting to reinstall.

Still can not sweep of Corel Presentations as I used to with my old SJ deceased 4470c but it's just a minor irritant compared to what I went through to fix this.

  • G4010 Scanjet G4010: With El Capitan, new driver using Image Capture, frozen "pending to scan...". »

Downloaded the driver for G4010 on El Capitan (I used Parallels and Windows driver for scanning to the end).

It loaded and grew up of Apple's Image Capture app and watch the G4010 in devices then stops with the message "Waiting for Scanner...". »

His son connecte connected by USB, turn on the G4010 and turns off, you press the keys without success.

RELOADED Image Capture, he showed the G4010 but can not read the details of the device.  Disconnected the USB - he complained has been disconnected but was still not satisfied on reconnection.

I'm clinging to the scanner to finish my thousands of slides to scan.  Image Capture will scan slides if he is asked?

    I found my own answer-

Has deleted everything except the new driver HP in the Applications and utilities, rebooted the Mac, then Image Capture found the G4010 and digitized.

  • Scanner not found - Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan with HP Scanjet G4010

    Hello

I need help, it's driving me crazy. The last time I've used this scanner was a few days ago and now its does not work.

I'm Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan with HP Scanjet G4010, it's a plugin via the USB port.

I went on HP website for maybe update the driver, it seems that one does not exist?

I have unplugged and restarted twice and re-downloaded the 10.10 OS driver, just in case and nothing.

If I run the application image capture and the scanner appears under devices, research for a minute, then says "no camera or scanner connected."

    Thank you!

    Hello

Any compatible OS listed in the download section, it is incompatible with El Capitan.

You can try the drivers of Yosemite and check if they might work on the newer operating system:

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL53041/DP-154741-2/HP_ScanJet_v2.4.1.dmg

You can give also the 3rd party VueScan request a test, it seems to support your scanner without the need of additional drivers:

Hi there Bulldogs3, welcome to the forums!

I saw that you encounter a problem when you try to add your Scanjet G4010 to your Mac up-to-date 10.9.2. If you have not yet downloaded the installation for the Scanjet, please do it here: HP Scanjet ICA software for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9.

If that is not always do the trick, follow these 2 steps and add the printer and back scanjet.

  • Problem with the HP Scanjet G4010 on the computer.

I've recently updated my Windows Vista computer to Windows 7.  I was able to reinstall most of my hardware & software.  However, my HP Scanjet G4010 is not recognized by the new system.  The software provided with the scanner for Windows Vista XP & a.  I downloaded the updates of the driver, the system assures me my driver is up to date, but when I try to scan, I get the message HP imaging device is not found.

Not sure that after you download the file ("Download succeeded") you will need to run the file by double-clicking on it?  Or this sentence meant that "installation succeeded"?

  • Scanjet G4010: scanjet G4010 biased image

We've had this scanner for a number of years now with no problems.  However, these days, the scanner started producing biased intermittently from the scanned images.  How this can be solved?

    Hi @Pizzaman21,

The test was good, so not a problem with the scanning hardware.

What software are you using to scan?

Is there a correct option of auto? If so what happens if disable?

The photo looks like has tried to keep the hand writing directly, so biased to the image.

What happens if trying to scan with the hand writing as a PDF document?

    Please get back to me.

  • ScanJet g4010: do not install scanjet following usb and usb-hardware driver issue?

    Hello

I tried to install the scan of a brand new computer and encountered the following problem:

I downloaded the package of appropriate software (full software and driver) from HP Web site, I start to install and get a message after the first stage (verification of the system requirements). the specific question that the system doesn't have the support of USB-required to complete software installation USB + same question regarding the USB hardware...

strange because it is a whole new system, and none of the other USB devices have no problem at all... (this happens even without/before plug in the device to scan..)

I also made an update of the Bios and checked if all USB ports are active and enabled in the Bios, no problem...

System = dell optiplex 5040, windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    any ideas?

    Hello
Click the Start button and type folder in the search bar, then open the Temp folder indicated.

Open the last HP installation folder that begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
    Open the installation folder.
Find the file usbready.exe and rename it to usbready.old.exe
Navigate to the main extraction folder (folders that begins with 7z) and run the Setup.exe file.

Now follow the installation and check for the difference.

    Kind regards
    Shlomi
