  I have a Pavillion equipped a6327uk for vista 32 bit.   It could be almost anything that prevents your computer from starting to start to eliminate things.  If the computer under warranty?  If this is not the case, unplug everything including the power cord from your computer. Unplug the keyboard, monitor, mouse, readers flash and all other connected outside of the machine. Open the unit and unplug all the devices connected to the power supply except the motherboard.  Disconnect the hard drive cable and power supply data connection, disconnect the connection cable and power supply of the CD/DVD data, disconnect any drive card reader or floppy drive.  Therefore remains connected to the power supply should be taking 20/24 pin to the motherboard and 4 or 8 pin 12V for the cpu power cable.  Remove all cards that may be in the slots, as the video card, modem, network card (if they are not built in to edge of devices.) Just the cards that can be inserted into the slots.  Make sure all items are away from the computer and cannot cause a short circuit when you use power. Look at the motherboard and see if the capacitors were bulged or rounded top and maybe even a brown substance leaking from the top.  Check the video card as well for the same and a blocked fan who may have been not turn.  Test the power supply with a volt/ohm meter if you have one. If this is not the case, turn on the power and see if the fans are running and you get beeps.  If this isn't the case, hold the power button for about 5 seconds until the machine turns off.  Try only a chunk of memory at a time and in each of the slots.  If it starts to act normally, it is probably food.  If the sounds seem normal, unplug the power cable and install one at a time from the video card and connect the monitor to it. Plug the power cable from back in and start the machine.  If you have a video, keep disconnect power, adding another device such as the keyboard and the mouse until you arrive finally to your hard drive.  Do your last hard drive because there all your important data on it and you do not want to expose to all this test.

  Present a strange problem that I can't solve.

  Brand new, open all laptop worked perfectly.

  Turned off normally and left it overnight with the power supply connected.

  Next day morning pushed the button market / stop the portable green power on but light did not start.

  Press and hold the button for 10 seconds does nothing.

  I remove the battery for 10 seconds and put again and then you press the power button and you get a full boot up normally.

  Everything on it works perfectly, you can restart the laptop without problem, you can even turn off then turn on half an hour later with no problems.

  Problem you have is certainly hardware related issue and it should be solved by Toshiba.
  In my opinion you should not spend money for new parts, trying to solve this problem.

  I have a portable Satellite A40 2 days ago decided to turns off while I was on the internet, and now it does not restart. I tried removing the battery and leave overnight, but it still will not start. When give you it power outlet, the AC LED is green and if you press the button power turns on the green power light, but that's all, the HARD drive light does not illuminate, the fan does not come on, no sound from the HARD drive and nothing on the screen, not even the backlight. You can also feel the heatsink gets hot (without excess however)

  If you insert a CD, you can here read the disc, and find things out there, too, now the power button still cut off the laptop.

  If anyone has any advice on what may be the cause, or any way I can get the machine to reboot again, that would be greatly appreciated.

  Have you tried to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if pictures or anything else appears on the second monitor?

  Your description sounds like the malfunctioning of the internal display, but it is only a suggestion and a few trials are required to obtain a diagnosis right.

  That would mean: 0000 1111
  Due to the least significant bit, must read this by behind: 1111 0000-> F0H

  Unfortunately, there is no document published in the Toshiba page on error code meaning
  I guess only the Toshiba ASP (certified partner) might provide these details and information.

  I would recommend so get in touch with the local ASP to get some information about the error.
  But to be honest, these errors are mainly related to a question on the motherboard and in this case mobo must be replaced.

  Please help - my Equium L10 will not start.

  Power supply is OK. When the power is connected the orange battery light comes on. I press the power button the green power light turns on momentarily (literally a Flash), then both the Green and orange lights out with orange alone returning it on about 2 seconds later.

  Else does nothing - no fan activity, no hard disk, no activity of the screen activity, no other light - you get the picture!

  I tried the following:
  Removed battery and tried to start with AC power not only - no joy
  Removed AC power and I tried booting with battery only - no joy
  Barrette of RAM removed and reinstall - no joy

  Does anyone have ideas before considering a tech? Suggestions (with the exception where to paste!) would be welcome.

  Hmm .He doesn't sound good. For me, it looks like a motherboard problem. It is maybe something wrong with electronic power to the Board of Directors of s. But not for sure.

  What you can do is to remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for a while.
  Wait about 20 minutes and connect the battery and adapter for the laptop. Then try turning on the laptop computer.
  If this does not help I recommend contact the ASP technician, because I don t think you will be able to know what's exactly wrong.

  So I hope that the technician can find the fault quickly and can solve this problem.

• My Tecra S1 will NOT start!

  I have a Toshiba Tecra S1, that will not start. When powered on it gives me a repetitive beep code. The fan starts, only the power light come ON but the screen remains empty.

  The code goes like this: 2 Short emits a beep then one long beep, pause, then 3 short beeps.

  Of course, there is a hardware problem. Contact service partner in your country. They may include cela beep code. Unfortunately there is no public document on explanation of code.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4164 that will not start.

  I thought that maybe there is a problem with the battery. I took out the battery and then plugged the laptop to the power outlet, makes no difference. The blue lights in the front of the laptop, lights, but I hear no noise from the motherboard or the fan. The laptop is bought in July 2006 and it is out of warranty.
  All I see is a white screen.

  My guess is that the motherboard must be replaced. I have also had kept with Symantic anti-virus and windows updates XP before April 1, 2009.

  Well, I think that in this case the laptop must be verified by the technician for laptop. You should contact an ASP and ask for help. It would be the best way because the technician can be sure what parts are defective.

• L50 - B satellite will not start when the battery is completely discharged

  My Toshiba L50 - B won't start when the battery is fully drained but connected to the power outlet.
  I try to work most of the time on the battery to keep the battery in good shape, but when I forgot to turn off the battery drains and the system will not start when I plug in the adapter.

  The battery charge indicator is orange light as it should. Only when the battery is fully charged to 100%, it will run at startup and function normally after that. I tried to turn on the laptop several times during the charge cycle, but only when the charge indicator changes from yellow to white it starts. Tested for 2 bodies.

  My old Toshiba always immediately turned on when I plugged the adapter even when the battery has been completely drained. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

  Any standard/original setting since I only acquired this laptop a month ago.

  The laptop should light up if the power adapter is plugged in and power the laptop corectly any if the battery is empty or during charge.

  Please check the version of the BIOS that is available on your mobile phone and compare with the BIOS available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
  Maybe you need to update the BIOS, but to be honest, the history seems really odd to me and I m afraid that there could be some power supply electronic problem

  So in the worst case, the laptop must be checked by authorized service provider.

  I have an A500 on 12 months old that will not start.

  The battery light shows white and power on AC light is on as well.
  When button "power on" is pressed and released the laptop IT flashes briefly then the battery lights up orange briefly and the light goes out.

  I think that it s something wrong with the motherboard or a part of the motherboard.
  The point is this laptop should turns on even if the battery is empty and the power adapter is plugged so maybe it s something wrong with the memory supply or electronic power on the motherboard.

  I recommend you check the parts of memory first. Remove a module and try to start the device using that one module.

  Of course this can not help you too... so in this case, it could be a severe motherboard issue...

• L775-11N satellite will not start

  I bought a L775 almost a year ago, but today it has stopped booting. It freezes at the screen of the BIOS (Toshiba logo).
  No HDD LED activity, but all the others are fine.

  I think that the HARD drive is defective, as I traded with my portable Linux and it works.

  However, (a Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS) HARD drive works on another computer and even on Linux with the Toshiba (on an external HARD drive enclosure). He has some bad sectors (INTELLIGENT default), but it works as it should.

  I tried to clean the CMOS memory, wipe the HARD drive (using GParted), but nothing.

  Any ideas?

  I think it fails because of the CHIP, as the BIOS will not start on this HARD drive because of the errors, but I'm not sure. I tried to update the BIOS (I think that I've upgraded to 1.90 but there is a 2.0 release), but looks like it is a Windows software only.

  I don t think that this question is related to the failure of HARD drive.
  Even if the HARD drive is faulty, the laptop must pass the POST (power self test) properly but it doesn t it freezes to the Toshiba start screen and this means that the POST has not been passed

  I think you should check the RAM. A faulty RAM can cause this kind of problem
  Otherwise, it could be a serious problem with the motherboard.
