g505s 8.1 updates &; wireless connection problem
I just downloaded updates Microsoft last night and as soon as I restarted, my wireless connection was gone/missing/non-functional. I have read some other posts that made me think that the issue may be with the (Qualcomm Atheros AR956x) wireless network adapter driver, but the download or install the latest driver from Lenovo (wlan149w81) support site didn't do me good. I do not see again for a Wi - Fi connection in the center of network & sharing.
Someone at - he never saw something like this before / know what might be causing the problem?
Hi solid Cruver - thanks for the help. Looks like that the combo of what I did and what you recommended has done. Update the driver LAN first and second WLAN driver seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again.

Since the last 2-3 months, my wireless connection does not work correctly. This happened right after that I did the partitioning in the D drive (I don't think this is the main cause). What is happening is that, all of a sudden when internet does not bar shows signs of yellow warning and 'tells' LIMITED ACCESS wireless network. When I try to solve problems, it will give no problem. Then in Device Manager, I tried to uninstall and install again, the internet worked for a while, and still the same problem occurs. When I tried to call to the service center, they told me that I have to buy CDs to retrieve a value of rs500 because I did not these recovery disks. I'm in serious trouble please help...
I also tried to update latest driver frm net, even if the problem does not get resolved. I also tried to reset the TCPIP in cmd prompt, but it worked for 2-3 days and still the same problem happened...
Hi there @Parthsagar2010
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.
I understand that you are having problems with your wireless connection, and I am happy to help you with this.
I realize that you mentioned the update of your driver from the internet, but just in case, here is the page drivers. There are several pilots possible depending on what card you have.
The following pages are useful for troubleshooting wireless connectivity problems.
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access (Windows 7)

Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.
Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.
_ * My specifications: * _
* Model: * Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite PSU6VA - 00S 002 U940)
* Operating system: * Windows 8.1 x 64 (upgrade of Windows 8 x 64)
* Wireless adapter: * Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2200
* Wireless adapter driver version: * 22.214.171.124 (which is the last for my device)
I got this Ultrabook since February 2013, and throughout this period, I always had problems with wireless connectivity, even after a factory reset. My wireless icon varies between three States:
* Internet access
* Limited (in which case I can't connect to the internet or any other device on the network)
* Not connected - connections are available (and if I try to connect to the network, it will fail)
Sometimes my computer would instantly reach the State of "Internet access" at startup and remain in this State. Other times, it would be 'limited' for several minutes after the start of my computer before it finally connected, and even in this case, the connection will drop out every now and then. In the worst case, it would indefinitely remain "Limited" or "not connected", regardless of how many times I reset my adapter wireless or rebooted my computer.
Until very recently, I always thought that these problems have occurred randomly. However, I noticed recently that I have always a connection perfect, whenever there is no other computers connected wirelessly to my router, and I always have problems more or less when there is at least another computer (or even a smart phone) connected wireless to the router. If there is another computer connected to the router via an Ethernet cable, this causes no problems. It's only wireless connections that interfere with my computer.
It is only this computer that has these problems; the other computers in my house ever experience these issues, no matter how many computers is online. In addition, my computer is not only these problems with my home router; It has the same problems on the network wireless at my University.
My question is, how do I fix? Is this a known bug or is my defective wireless adapter? I know that I can connect using an Ethernet cable if possible (I have never problems with Ethernet connections), but this is not always possible at the University.
Did you remove the old driver Win 8 Intel of the system before you upgrade to version 8.1 to win?
The old Wlan Intel driver could affect the performance of a Wi - Fi connection.
The driver update page Win 8.1 says clearly that Intel Wlan driver must be uninstalled and the
Inbox Windows 8.1 version must be used.

Reason do not use Ethernet adapter was because in the taskbar bar, there was a "Network cable unplugged" warning (internet technician did not want or did not know how) to solve the problem. It's easier and faster just to put the adapter ASIX. My problem is after about 20 minutes. my connection speed is slower than the previous 56K modem. I have to constantly repair the IP address just to stay online when the settings are set to AUTO FIND the IP address, gateway server and DNS servers. 1. don't you make changes to your machine before the problem?
2. you have any device near your router that may be in conflict with the signal?
If so, make sure that devices such as radio, microwaves, mobile phones are kept at Bay.
In the meantime, I wish that you follow the steps mentioned below.
Update your AX88772 6 USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet network card of manufacturer's site and see if it helps.
You can also test the problem in safe mode with network.
If the methods above are little help, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider for the best help that can be also with slow Internet or abandon the connection.
Let us know the status of the issue.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-211DX running MS Vista. Yes I know. in any case, I am able to connect to any available WIFI, except my personal home WIFI. If it is directly connected to the ethernet cable, I'll have internet, but once I disconnect it-i lose. My wireless says "Local" only signal I've tried everything. To restart all electronic devices which means my internet to read on the fourms a lot, a lot. I used the Norton removal tool, I did the regedit, MS Vista update, checked for drivers updated and nothing else I can read up. SO PLEASE! Help!.
· Did you do changes on the computer before the show?
· You get the error message?
· He has already worked?
Follow these methods.
Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 2: Follow these steps:
Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.
Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.
Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.
my HP pc used to connect to my internal wireless, no problem. I know the wep key and had several hours of navigation...
I move for a year, come back. apparently my PC doesn't connect now... in fact, it won't even connect with a CABLE!
He repeats to me ' identify with. "
Well, Vista has been updated since and I've been usng a mobile dongle (at GREAT expense!) to try to update, but now I'm sick of the cost and I need internet access appropriate again!
Thank you for responding Srinivas
I don't know the model but it is a HP, three or four years now.
I had all sorts of messages of "not able to connect" and limmited conectiviy... I'm sure I had a relative at all simply have no connection
the browser, I would have used that I had connected would be Firefox, but it has yet to get to the point that I was getting nothing. bytes sent might be higher than anything but received nill.
at the time, I was unable to get ANY connection NET... for all intensive purposes, I've been totally disconnected
I had tried everything that arises, each suggestion had windows, but it made no difference... even a connection WIRED sitting to 'authenticate '.
Odly enough, who are seeking to solve a problem with my scandisk is not not be able to access C drive I have run "services.msc".
looking through everything that might stop the player access, I found that the DHCP Client does not work... I made sure it runs automatically and (because I checked my settings of a few hundred times) the network came as a light!
I don't know what turned it off because none of the programs I run affected before (I haven't installed any new programs since then be disconnected from the network)
Thanks for the reply. I hope this information helps in similar cases in the future :)
Hi, I can't connect to any WiFi recently on my computer laptop so I did a little research on the internet and discovered that keep the device wireless to date is one of the solutions. But after I updated it my laptop have a bigger problem, my wireless connection is totally absent. Until it isn't "manage wireless connections" on the left side of the network and sharing Center , but has now disappeared, my "change adapter setting" to have a WiFi connection , but now also disappear. My laptop is Windows 7 and I have attached a screenshot here for your better understanding. I'm not an expert in computers, so please respond in detail as you can, thank you.
I just bought a brand new Alienware m17x and all drivers are up to date... .IM with broadcom wireless network adapter. The strange thing is that last night I was on the internet for several hours without any problem using the wireless, but this morning iwas unable to use my wireless internet access. This has happened several times now. Sometimes it says "not connected - no available connections" and sometimes he says "not connected connections are available" when she says, links, I try to connect to the network, but it says "unable to connect to the network. The only time wherever I was able to connect to wireless internet, was when my computer is automatically connected to my wireless network without me having to select the network and attempt to connect. I read things about windows 7, with a mode of "sleeper" for wireless connections or something, and that can be the cause of it and that it is better to turn off or downgrade to xp. I am really frustrated because I am not able to connect wirelessly and I hope you guys can help me find a solution.Guide to correctly troubleshoot wireless M17xwith Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card
Since many new Alienware M17x all powerful users, especially those who use Windows 7 as operating system there are various problems with their Wi - Fi connection and post threads asking how their difficulty over and over again, I decided to write this guide to show them how to solve these issues properly Commons. The solutions in this guide were created and designed for 64-bit Windows 7, but they may also work in Windows Vista, although these problems were experienced by users of Windows 7 mainly in the past. It could very well be that the problems start occurring in Vista as well with the new drivers and Windows updates.
I. may not connect to the wireless network and or see the wireless adapter when the Ethernet cable is disconnected
If you sometimes or always unable to connect to the wireless network, cannot connect to the wireless network when the Ethernet cable is disconnected, unable to connect to a wireless network unless you restart once to get this work and other weird problems to be unable to connect to a wireless network continue with section II. Otherwise, continue with section II..
Sleep of a.i. Disable on disconnect device
Some new Nvidia Ethernet drivers have a function called sleep device to disconnect. This is the culprit. Normally, it should only put the card Ethernet to sleep when the cable is disconnected, but it is buggy and thus kill the wireless connection as well.
Follow these steps to disable this feature on your Ethernet Nvidia card:
1. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
2 double-click network adapters.
3 double click on NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (Yes, that's indeed wired Ethernet adapter).
4 click on the Advanced tab.
5 select sleep on disconnect device.
6 set the value to disabled.
7 click OK and wireless should work again (may require a reboot later, but probably not).
I.b. install different drivers (older) who do not have the device sleeping on disconnect feature.
The above does not work or if you are not comfortable with these drivers, follow these steps (if step A.i. was successful, you will not need to follow these steps). Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding:
1. click the Windows Start button in the taskbar.
2 click on Control Panel.
3 click on uninstall a program.
4 in the list, double-click Nvidia drivers.
5. Mark Remove only the following.
6 in the box below, only check the Nvidia Network driver.
7 click Remove and follow the uninstall instructions.
8 restart the system, if you are prompted to.
9 download another (older) driver from Nvidia.
10 install the old driver.
11 when asked what drivers you want to install, select only the network driver.
12 follow the installation instructions and restart your system if prompted.
II. Low or fluctuating wireless connection speeds
If you have problems with WiFi low connection speeds (such as rates decline over time, the speeds are much lower than they should be, network lag/stutter in online games, loss of light packets, loss of internet connection as LAN works and other weird things) or speeds of fluctuating wildly without apparent reason wireless connection install the version of the Dell Wireless 126.96.36.199 drivers instead of the standard Broadcom drivers. All older drivers will usually cause the speed of connection under normal. Note, however, that you may need to install the driver manually via Device Manager as the pilot was not released for another laptop and is not officially available to the M17x yet - that's why the installer won't work. Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding.
Here is a step by step how manually install the driver:
1. download the drivers Dell Wireless 188.8.131.52.
2 check out the R29128.exe file using an extraction utility like WinRAR or just run it and quit the installation program.
3. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
4 double-click network adapters.
5 double-click the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter entry.
6 click on the driver tab.
7 click the button Update driver .
8 click Browse my computer for driver software.
9 click on Let me take form a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
10 click the disk provided .
11 click Browse.
12. select the folder that you extracted the drivers you just downloaded in step 1. in.
13 select the subfolder DRIVER_US (if you are in the United States), DRIVER_JP (if you are in the Japan) or DRIVER_ROW (if you are in the rest of the world), according to the region you are in.
14 click on the Open button.
15 click OK.
16 select the driver that says Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card of the list (you may have to scroll down to see - it presents itself as second to the last in the list for me).
17 click on the Next button.
18 you will get a warning that the driver that you are about to install is not compatible with your hardware. Ignore the warning and proceed with the driver installation.
19 restart your system if prompted to do so.
20 your new driver should now be properly installed and the speed of your wireless connection in the order.
III. If all else fails (or you've just had enough of boredom arising from the Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card)
Replace the Dell Wireless 1510 problem with a card half-mini Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 A/G/N (use the bluetooth as the third antenna antenna or buy you an additional antenna for this). It works very well with the M17x, has better connection speeds to strips of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (this last has speeds really bad on the Broadcom/1510), it has not required to jump through the hoops to make it work properly and much more, it works with standard drivers and Intel maintains their drivers up to date. It is also much more reliable and faster as well, especially on the 5 GHz band, but also on the 2.4 GHz band.
For more information on the subject of tweaking the settings of your Dell Wireless card, check out the official setting advanced properties: Dell Wireless WLAN Card User Guide.
I hope that this guide will help you solve your Wi - Fi connection and allow you to enjoy speeds of complete wireless connection on your laptop Alienware M17x.

You have McAfee? McAfee has been updated at the same time as the last batch of updates from Windows 7 and this is the cause of problems of internet connection for most, if not all, users of McAfee.
See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee
You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary. There are corresponding communications for their enterprise products.
I had to run the removal of McAfee Development tool a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Update KB976002 itself automatically installed this morning and since then, my internet connection does not work. Under my network connections it says the cable is disconnected and no diagnosis actually recognize that the cable is connected.
There is no problem with the hub or the cable itself I can plug in the cable to other devices and they connect very well.
I did a restore system before the update was installed but it does not uninstall the update and the problem persists.
Also for playback on this patch of the window that is supposed to pop up asking if I want to change browsers or anything that ever appeared after several reboots my system and the actual broswerchoice.exe is not responding if you try and run
Among other things, I reinstalled my network card drivers and it also made no difference
I'm running Vista Ultimate
This happened once before, after an update, but, unlike this problem, he somehow set himself after that my computer has been restarted several times
Problem solved, apparently. He just decided to work again. Strange...
I just bought this printer 2 days ago and since then have worked so that it can connect to my wireless network. I didn't realize set up a printer would take over 12 hours and I am very frustrated. I am a 30 years old, the networking industry veteran and tried different ways to connect this printer for WiFi and all have resulted in the same thing. The printer connects, authenticates, and gets a DHCP address. I am able to ping the printer on the wireless for about 2 minutes and then it stops. The network printer report that everything is good, SSID, Auth method, etc. The indicator on the printer wireless shows connected with intense beep. Watch wireless access point the printer active in wireless connections until it pings stop and the device then goes to an idle state, indicating that the printer has stopped sending the Wireless 'KeepAlive '. At this point, I would say that I have a defective printer, but I've seen several posts on this forum with the same question and no documented fix. I find it very doubtful that HP has produced many defective printers. Is there a solution to my problem? Please advise...
Time to return the printer for refund or Exchange.
My laptop says it's connected wireless, with the signal strength excellent, however when I click on search via IE or Chrome, it indicates that it is not connected to the internet. On the network and sharing Center, this also indicates that it is not connected and said that the network is unidentified but then it shows an intense tone.
When I connect the cable to the router, I can search on the internet.
My mobile phone and computer laptop boyfreind both work on the wireless connection.
My laptop not connected wireless to the House of my parents either, but he has previously worked at my old apartment.
I tried the advice provided on the Web site of the reset in the cmd window.
All ideas that could recommend would be appreciated.
Has your PC what model wireless network adapter?
If she has an Atheros wireless card, see if installing this driver solves this problem.
I installed the router yesterday and after two tests, but I have the internet connection. I couldn't go wireless then or today. I tried many times today, and my status says all OK. I removed the ethernet cable from my PC because he said everything's fine, then lost internet connection!
When I try to fix wireless according to the Advisor, he said no adapter found wireless! I have a jack, which is wired for a buzzing doorbell system and wonder if this is the problem. (I had problems with my magicJack when I moved here and just got a landline phone because of problems with this Jack two weeks ago!) Could there be problems of incompatibility between the wiring in the plug and the router? With the exception of the wireless connection everything works fine! Help, please!
I think that your computer has installed wireless network card.
Contact the vendor of your computer and see if you have a wireless network card installed properly on your computer. If the wireless card is not installed on your computer, you will need to get a wireless adapter.
Hey guys... I need somehelp... I had a problem with my connection Wireless for the past 2 months or so, so I kept this option disabled until today. So, today, I started to reset the router to its factory default settings. Then, I created a new wireless connection, with WPA2 encryption. My PC has managed to find the new network, but it does not connect to it for some reason any. He tells me that it cannot establish a connection. The power of the wireless signal shows full bars, so I know this isn't a problem... I emptied the wireless connection profiles that were previously saved on the computer, in the case which had nothing to do with this... (the new network name, I chose is different then my only previous anyway..)
However, the most important thing is, I can connect to the router via wired ethernet... connections it is just the wireless that will not allow to connect me... someone has any suggestions as to why this is happening? Thank you
OK, I got it works!... just had to reset, and then connect to it without any security and then added security locations after he connected... Thank you!
