I suspect that your HARD drive has a problem, generally, it's like that, it won't start if the HARD drive was fried on you, try a key recovery to restore as long as day 1. Otherwise, buy a slap of casing 2.5 drive your hard drive inside, save the files after reinstall windows 8 or make the one key recovery.

Laptop is less than years so presumably under warranty...

    Hello

The two error codes 24 characters for the drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem.

As your laptop should still be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • Pavilion g6 1320 - is: laptop won't start not

I recently had a problem with my pavilion laptop g6 series 1320 - themselves.

When I hit the power button a black screen will appear saying that the hard drive is not found. However, when I rebooted the system, windows load appeared but it does not connect... A black screen appears and a long time until I unplugged.

PS. A ticking, ticking sound from the hard drive was heard during the black screen with no hard drive found error, and when the windows seem to be from the black screen following the loading of Windows.

Would it be to say that the hard drive is in danger and it is already damaged or maybe it's a cable problem or what?

    Thank you.

    Hi @AhmedHussein28,

    Thank you for your response.

I wasn't ignoring your information on the hard drive.  In the link I sent there is another link on the testing of hardware failures include the hard drive.

Here is the link. HP Notebook PC - hardware failures (Windows 8) screening.  Although it lists Windows 8 steps will be the same in Windows 10.

If you can still access Windows I suggest you protect your data to avoid loss.  There is a video in the above document on the test of the hard disk to help you.

    Good luck!

  • My moms laptop won't start not

My mother gave up his laptop and now when she turns on her laptop is all black and it says hard drive error and I check the hard drive memory it says he passed, but then when I do a quick check on the HDD it says smart check don't installed and DST not installed what I'll do?

Memory & hard drive are two distinct hardware components in the laptop. The memory can be well after a fall, but the hard drive is easily damaged and must usually be replaced. You could try reseating first to be sure that it's not just jarred and lose a secure connection. Guide service & on your support page shows how to remove/replace the hard drive (HDD).

If you don't know how to find the support page post back with the complete model or product number as indicated on the Service label attached on the bottom of the computer laptop-usually under the battery.

    Hello

This backup after pressing F11 is a HP backup option, not a Microsoft option.

I suggest that you contact HP or ask their Support Forums.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/

It's the normal advice I'd give to record data; but we have no idea of the State of your hard drive.

    Saving your files:

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

    See you soon.

  • Acer laptop won't start

Hello, I'm new here... In any case my Acer Aspire E 15 won't start. All I get is a small box blue message which said: lack of default boot device or startup failed. Insert the recovery media and press a key. Then select "Boot Manager" to select a new device boot or Boot Recovery Media. " So I press on enter a couple of times just to go back to the same blue message dialog box. I tried to go and wait five seconds to launch a kind of recovery, but it did not work. Then I activated the f12 boot sequence, and this alteration has nothing. My laptop did not come with a CD/DVD player, when my father bought new last Christmas. I uninstalled Microsoft Office Spotify and Amazon the last time that I logged online. The 64-bit Windows 8.1 is built in. Maybe that remove some files. IDK. What should I do? Do I need some sort of media recovery USB device? Your help is appreciated. Thanks, Neil

It was a hardware problem and now it is fixed. Back to zero once again.

As you probably know Evesham closed to the public in 2008.

I think that your computer is a portable computer. I can't access a free copy of the manual, but I imagine that you have a copy of the operating system on the hard drive in a recovery partition. Am I wrong?

Before attempting to repair your computer, you will need to back up your data files on removable media. If the computer does not start, you need access to a second computer at home. Do you have a? If Yes is it a desktop or a laptop?

I would also ask if you comfortable using a screwdriver to remove the hard drive of your laptop Evesham, put it on an external support which can be purchased via Amazon and its connection to a USB port on the second computer. These are not difficult tasks, but not everyone wants to take on this task. If not comfortable take your laptop to a local computer repair shop.

As for the repair of your laptop once you have recovered your data files, restore the operating system to factory settings using the copy of Windows XP, which I think is more than likely in a recovery partition. It will be activated by single key, perhaps the F10 or F11 key or you can have an option in the menu that appears when you press the F8 key during the boot process. It also seems that Evesham commonly supplied recovery discs.

If a factory restore does not work I would then test the memory.

    Hello

    Try the following.

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below - if you are unsure, your laptop is listed as coming from a 64-bit installation...

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn options) to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

When creating, type following the ESC key as soon as you start the launch of the laptop Boot Menu, and then insert the rescue CD.  Select the Boot Menu options ( f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

Select the "Repair your computer" option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run the Startup Repair - you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html

If the above does not help, take note of any error message you get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

  • Help! Laptop won't start up. BSOD "Stop: c000021a {fatal system error}...". »

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1750. Since Sept 09.

Starting from Saturday, may 8 my system won't start up

I turn it on it loads the Dell logo, loads the windows logo, and then flashes a blue screen for a split second (the blue screen flashes so quickly that it is difficult to read what he says, so I recorded it and it comes up with "STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} the verification of a knownDLL failed.") system process finished unexpectedly the status of 0xc000012f (0x0007c220 0x00000000) the system has been shut down.) and restarts after the dell logo loading again it goes to a black screen with the options to launch start up repair or start windows normally.

I have Launced the Startup Repair, after loading files and checking for problems it says then Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. I made the diagnosis and he says there is no problem, I have contatced dell as it is still under warranty but they said this isn't a hardware problem, it is a software problem and infact NOT covered by the warranty and I have to pay £60 to have the support of the software. I don't have a recovery disc and tried to restore the system to an earlier stage. But no luck!

Was hoping someone here, perhaps a solution. Please please please help!

    Thank you very much

Status 0xc000012f is "STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_NOT_MZ" - "the file specified image did not have the correct format, it did have an initial MZ." (anecdote: binary windows start with MZ - the initials of Mark Zbikowski - who was a promoter of the MS-DOS product)

That, with "a knownDLL verification failed."  Basically telling you that you have corrupted files on your system.  Any chance you are able to boot into safe mode or safe mode with command prompt to run SFC/scannow?  Can you somehow shoot out of the system event logs and check the events worthy of attention?  Are you all able to run chkdsk on the drive through the command prompt in the System Recovery Options?

  • Pavilion g6 2213sa: upgrade of the APU - computer laptop won't start

I recently bought an APU A10 - 5750M on eBay with the intention to replace the A8 - 4500M in my 2213sa. I saw some videos on YouTube of people doing this with HP laptops so I know it's possible, but for some reason any, that he doesn't let me do on this laptop.

    Why not?

Oh and just as a note, it's not because the motherboard was short-circuited or anything, because it lights up. Just died not much later. The display also lights.

Also, I put the old APU inside and it works very well with it there. As far as I know, there is not any new update of the BIOS for this laptop, so I don't know why it does not start.

It does not start because it is not compatible. You need A10 - 4600M.

    See p. 1:

    Repair manuals

You are invited to come here and ask what processors are compatible rather than Youtube.

  • laptop won't start screen continues to appear

This morning I did a system restore, I left my computer laptop for awhile when I got my laptop, it turned out it was because the battery is low, but did not, charge my cell phone because I had to go to school. (I took out the battery of the laptop because I was trying to solve another problem. I tell you this because it might have caused the problem) when I came back from school I reconnected it the battery and I started to charge my laptop. I am not my phone because I wanted to let it load. When I turned on my laptop nothing would then show a pop up screen saying: could not start windows. screen told me to insert the disc and restart your computer, so on. I don't know if this important but this screen has pop-up before and I didn't press on enter, and everything was fine, but this time, when I press on enter the same screen will appear again.

Place do not connect a drive or press F8 or F11 because

    1. it is an old laptop, so I do not have a disk and I can't buy another

    2. I press f8 nothing will jump to the top still screen that will appear before. When I press f11 will black screen just pops up

You have a possibility of more.  Go to another computer Windows 7 to the same number of bits as yours (32 or 64).  Take a blank CD.  Create a system repair disc.  Start, all programs, Maintenance

Start (really make sure it starts on the CD) on the system repair disc.  It can offer you opportunities to make repairs.

If this isn't the case, I fear that it may have to say that you need to re - build your operating system.
