G6-1262sa: HP Pavilion g6-1262sa, interesting dillema processor upgrade

Hi, I met interesting dillema. I've asked this question before but did not get a definitive answer.

I plan to upgrade my i3 cpu - 2330 m. I found out that i3 - 3120 m (I know that it is Ivy Bridge) is supposed to be compatibile with chipset HM65, has the same TDP (35W) and corresponds to the same Jack of rPGA 988B.

However, repair HP is not on the list of processors supported (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02968997.pdf)

Websites that claim i3 - 3210 m is compatible:

http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/MB-Intel _ (chipsets) HM65_Express.html

http://www.CPU-world.com/Sockets/socket%20G2%20 (rPGA988B) .html

http://www.youcpu.com/en/chipset/Mobile-Intel-HM65-express-chipset-Intel-BD82HM65-PCH

Has anyone tried such a replacement?

What are the chances that it will work?

These websites do not pretend that that your motherboard the CPU HP supprts.

Support CPU depends entirely on specific BIOS of UC support for a motherboard, chipset support.

    Hello

I think to upgrade the motherboard on my HP Pavilion PC 17 - e020us.  The manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04069163.pdf) contains a list of supported processors, and I'm not sure that we choose.  The computer currently has a processor Intel Core i3 - 3110M with 10 64 - bit Windows.  I am deciding between the Intel Core i7-3632QM and the Intel Core i5 - 3230M processor (the processor TDP should be 35 w or I have to get a new power supply).  You can view a comparison between the two processors and the currently in the system here: http://ark.intel.com/compare/71670, 72056,65700.  Although the i7 has a lower base frequency, it has more hearts; the reverse is true for the i5.  Could you please tell me what CPU should I choose (I'll get the corresponding motherboard)?  Here are the main things I've done on the PC: web navigation on board or Chrome, using Microsoft Office and software development with Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (which means that I often use of the Tablet and mobile emulators to test my application - it means also I need to compile quickly and be good with graphics rendering (for design applications/Games)).

In addition, please could you me of those in the manual of the motherboard (34 in PDF of page, page is numbered 24 down to the left)?

Thank you very much to all who have responded.

    Hello

Normally we use the rule of 3 C to choose a processor. They are Cache, Core and clock. In this case, I'd choose processor 6 MB Cache. It also has more Core and clock is a little slower but a lot of applications, the slowdown factor is not processor but another factor, namely the HARD disk.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Pavilion DV7t-4100: dv7t-4100 processor upgrade

I have my laptop processor ugpraded: DV7t-4100 according to the spefications of the manual.  The model is a DV7T-4100 with a product # WW189AV.   I upgraded to a intel i5 - 460 m to Intel Core i7-840QM processor.  Unfortunately, although the manual says compatibility with this computer model I can't the computer to turn on.  I am a computer programmer and have replaced many before processors on a laptop and this has questioning me the validity of Manual HP.  In fact in the same manual, he said that the computer is not compatible with 16 GB of ram, however, a user on the Board discovered that you can upgrade the processor and in turn, you can then upgrade the maximum authorized place 32 GB memory live.

A little frustrated at getting no results even after spending all that money on a new processor.  As of this moment with ram old or new ram the computer simply not starts with the new i7 840QM.

I am aware of the pdf file: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02666747.pdf and page 11 States that the 840qm works for 4000 series to 4299 so I thought it would have worked.  Please let me know o ' wise HP support or maybe someone else who happens have experience about it, I'm stressed out that I might have to return all the parts of my.

This Forum is still open and available for upgrade issues. We do not work for HP but most of us is passionate about. I will just repeat that these textbooks are not written with the idea that HP is somehow what can be done to upgrade the laptop processors. He was always a gamble, and I always try to tell people that.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad: processor upgrade

    Hello fellow admins classmates
can I ask if I can improve my processor Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.00 GHz at 2.30 GHz Intel Core i7-2820QM?

any help and suggestions will be appreciated

    Check Page 2 here:

    Manual

Yes, the 2820QM is the top of the page compatible processor. For an increase in clock speed of 15%, I'm not sure that the upgrade will do a lot for you, but if you feel able to do so, the upgrade will work.

    This processor is quite expensive:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Intel-Core-I7-2820QM-SR012-quad-core-processor-2-3-GHz-3-4GHz-8-MB-/281668104339?PT=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4194ba3093

They run up to $200 on eBay. I invest this money in an SSD if you do not already have one.

The fan needs to be replaced, but if you bought it less than a year ago, it should be under warranty. If you pay someone to replace the fan is quite expensive because it requires a complete teardown. If you do, the fan itself is pretty cheap.

  • Pavilion A6130A processor upgrade?

    Hello

They gave me an A6130A of unwanted Pavilion.

I want to upgrade the processor of the default template and see on its technical specifications (http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01109618&lang=en&cc=u...) that its max listed is a core 2 E4300.

Now, I saw on the same sheet indicates that the max ram it takes is 2 gig, but as a test on my windows desktop 7, took out 2 x 2 giga ddr2 240 pin ram sticks and they slide in the A6130A and it started with happiness with the 4 GB of ram, no blue no screens no error message and the machine was lively and responsive.  Since I put the sticks in machine win 7 and hope the morning I can buy 4 GB of ram on my local PC vendor to it.

So this experience now made me question can I put an E4400, E4500 and E4600 processor E4700 in, now my bios is a problem of 5.13 and the highest bios listed on the support page of the HP driver is 5.12. This means not updated technical support information or I end up given a late edition model?

Since I made the recovery disc for the machine and transferred the original Vista that came with it on a 500gig sata drive and stuck in a pata of 250gig replacement drive had in the back of my wardrobe.

Once that I always update the ram and will pupate vista sp2, it will be quite a usable 2nd office, but if some saw an upgrade to the processor, it becomes quite a powerful machine.

Oh and on a foot note I got from eBay a gt8400 nividia used I think, well, it's a pcie 512 MB video card, once it's done I might see if I can ask the areo hack see there only Vista Home Basic.

Thanks in advance for your comments

It is interesting to try to upgrade to Windows 10?

Or it is futile and not worth trying?

    Hello:

The biggest problem you may encounter is that the audio probably does not work once you upgrade to W10.

Other than that, looking at the specifications for your PC it seems that all the other materials should work properly.

If you decide to roll the dice, and after installing W10, there is no audio data, you can try this driver below that worked for others with the same IDT audio chip.

This package provides the Tempo IDT High Definition Audio Driver for assumption of office models that are running a supported operating system.

    File name: sp71717.exe

Here is a forum member that have fundamentally improved PC the same model as yours to W10.  Other than the sound works, he apparently had no other problems.

Hello everyone, I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade my computer 15-g004AU Pavilion laptop at least 2 Ghz processor? My processor is 1 GHz, but it is not enough to manage my work, so I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade this kind of model of HP laptop? If so, then how much it will cost to upgrade to 2 Ghz in India? And also I would like to know the lowest cost that my budget is very limited. Thank you.

You have the AMD E1-2100 processor, which is extremely low. Here is the Manual:

    Manual

See page 17-18. See the list of system boards? There is a different for each processor. This means that the CPU is soldered to the motherboard. You need to replace the whole motherboard to get a faster processor. The minimum that you can get that has a clock speed of 2.0 ghz is this one:

Processor AMD A6-6310 and UMA graphics 764262-501 (support Windows 8.1 standard).

The jury is on sale here for $80:

Labor to install it can be very expensive because it is a very complicated process. After back if you are interested in pursuing further.
