G62 processor upgrade question

Welcome to all!

I know that this topic could be recycled a few times, but I have not found the answer to my question. If it is there, please let me know.

I have a laptop with an Intel P6100 processor G62-b50SV. It's great and all, but I decided to upgrade the i3 - 370 M processor since I am fortunate to have two of them in my hands and I found out that it should be compatible with this decision.

Opening the laptop and replacement of the processor was easy, but when I put it back together the screen remains black. The fan works, so is the hard drive, but nothing else happens.

I tried to upgrade the BIOS, but it didn't work. Of course when I handed the P6100 everything works as if nothing had happened.

Help, please. What I am doing wrong? I forgot something?

Kind regards

Marcin

It seems that you have version 1.1 of the laptop. See Page 20 of the manual here:

Repair manuals

The i3-380 works with version 1.1, but the i3-370 works on the other version. Yes, they can be as finicky.

    Hi all.

(For a year or two), I have the HP Pavilion p7-1235 with is provided with processor A8-5500 and 7560 integrated graphics. I intend to add a discrete GPU to 7750 and a 500 Watt power supply. I use this desktop computer for everyday tasks, surf the web, etc. But I also play casual games on Steam. I also have the Sims 3 (base game) is installed.  The last time I played this game, fifiteen minutes at the level of the fan (I guess CPU) kicking on.  It also happened when I tried Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.

Now I don't know if it of because the cpu is dusty or cannot handle these 2 games. According to the technical specifications of HP, I know I can upgrade the processor to an A10-5700 or A10 - 5800 k? It would give me better performance game-wise? Or just do the upgrade to graphical power and power would be sufficient? Also, when a processor upgrade, would I have to mess with the BIOS?

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.page/public/KB/docDisplay/?sp4ts.Oid=5187022&SPF...

Set to upgrade to an A10-5700 will provide that almost no improvement in the CPU of the tasks not related. Upgrading an A10 - 5800K provide a 5% improvement in CPU related tasks. Your best bet is too make sure all dirt and dust is collected inside the case, fans and heat sinks. Then install the GPU and PSU upgrades and monitor your computer for the fan kicks at the top. With the GPU load moved to the discreet graphics card, the APU (UC) should be less stressed.

  • Area 51 - R2, processor upgrade Question

Quick question, if I bought the area 51 - R2 with the 5820K i7, but later wanted to upgrade processor... is that motherboard that he would come with the upgrade for all processors support, you can buy with it on the site?

For example, I was able to install one of the following processors at a later date:

    I7 5930 k

    I7 5960 x

    I7 6850 k

    I7 6900 k

    I7 x 6950

Just look at long-term, if I wanted to spend by ensuring that the option would be. I remember reading, some people not get the other processors to read... so, I'm curious.

In addition, is the speed of ram supported max 2133? Because if I got 16GB 2133 I would probably update later myself to 32 GB and want to 2400 mhz or something like that is possible.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello

Yes, the motherboard will support all CPUs, you just need to have the latest version of the Bios (A08).

    And on the memory:

Memory type: four slots, UDIMM, 2133 MHz DDR4

Memory Min / Max: 8 GB to 32 GB (four locations)

  • Pavilion 17-e020us: HP Pavilion 17-e020us card mother/processor upgrade Question

    Hello

I think to upgrade the motherboard on my HP Pavilion PC 17 - e020us.  The manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04069163.pdf) contains a list of supported processors, and I'm not sure that we choose.  The computer currently has a processor Intel Core i3 - 3110M with 10 64 - bit Windows.  I am deciding between the Intel Core i7-3632QM and the Intel Core i5 - 3230M processor (the processor TDP should be 35 w or I have to get a new power supply).  You can view a comparison between the two processors and the currently in the system here: http://ark.intel.com/compare/71670, 72056,65700.  Although the i7 has a lower base frequency, it has more hearts; the reverse is true for the i5.  Could you please tell me what CPU should I choose (I'll get the corresponding motherboard)?  Here are the main things I've done on the PC: web navigation on board or Chrome, using Microsoft Office and software development with Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (which means that I often use of the Tablet and mobile emulators to test my application - it means also I need to compile quickly and be good with graphics rendering (for design applications/Games)).

In addition, please could you me of those in the manual of the motherboard (34 in PDF of page, page is numbered 24 down to the left)?

Thank you very much to all who have responded.

    Hello

Normally we use the rule of 3 C to choose a processor. They are Cache, Core and clock. In this case, I'd choose processor 6 MB Cache. It also has more Core and clock is a little slower but a lot of applications, the slowdown factor is not processor but another factor, namely the HARD disk.

    Kind regards.

  • CQ5110F processor upgrade question

I bought this CQ5110F of Office Depot and have already contributed to the maximum of the RAM, upgraded to a corsair PSU and installed a Radeon HD 4850. Now, I want to upgrade the processor. I did some research but I want to make sure the processor I look is certainly compatible with my motherboard.

    My motherboard: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01701270

    The processor I am looking to buy is the AMD Phenom II X 4 945 3.0 GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-core (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103696&cm_re=95w_phenom-_-19-103-696-_-Prod...

Are they compatible? If they are not, can anyone suggest a good processor that is? Thanks to a bouquet.

The "Socket AM3" CPU is not compatible with AM2 motherboards + without a BIOS upgrade.  There is no BIOS available for this purpose on the site.

Given that your CPU is dual-core, the "Triple or Quad-core" CPU listed in the specs would be faster.  Here is a link to the "characteristics of the motherboard" for your computer:

It's running windows vista 32 bit, I'll upgrade my memory to 4 GB.

I use the most for Photoshop/Illustrator pc it seems to slow my pc down when I use these programs simultaneous.

And would it be another option to run these programs from an ssd instead of the HD that make a difference?

You are the very welcome, Suzan.

I would say that the safe bet for the best processor the E7400.

Your PC was introduced in March 2008.

I fear the E7500 and E7600 that came out in 2009, will not be managed because I can't update the BIOS of your PC that adds support for the latest processors.

    Hello

Looking at two documents, you can see that they are not on the same date. Depending on when, so very difficult to say. HP had some series that could go for a few years. HP now put G0, G1, G2, and these 'generations' lives a little easier.

Given that the two documents are for G1, this may be true, and you must upgate BIOS.

    Kind regards.

  • I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available

I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available had merge to HDR & Panoramic photos. I can't find these. Where can I find them.

It is unfortunate that Adobe has chosen to use the "update" in the notice inside LR 5. It is not an "update". It is an 'upgrade '. Thus, you pay if you want. Also as usual, Adobe directs clients to the CC solution and makes it hard to find perpetual license option.
