Reinstalled windows vista and cannot connect to the internet.
OK, so I have problems with my computer (model Emachine) and ended up having to reinstall windows vista. Windows works fine, even if I can't connect to the internet, because it does not recognize my modem, or my modem is suddenly not there. I am also running switched. If I have to download a driver, so I have to be online to do, so I'm in a catch 22. with little money and no way to get there.
I really need this computer to work, so any help would be appreciated.
Read my response: download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.
You should be able to download/save files and copy them.

For any further information, reinstall the drivers, contact the manufacturer of your computer to the link above.

I have windows Vista and I'm having the hardest time trying to raise my w7 ISO ultimant and running
I have 7 in an ISO file and I can not get anthing all read this file is compatible w7 and upward. Suggestions, it took about a half hour to enter this site and write this little help needed message under IE9 vista Home premium. Everything you can think of will be a help...
You must prepare the ISO in a format bootable, such as burning a blank DVD or create a copy on a USB bootable:
Create a copy on a blank DVD USB or USB key bootable
After downloading the ISO of Windows 10, you must prepare, it is particularly important for users of Windows 7...
After graduating the .iso file, you can use the built-in Image disc burning tool or Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).
Important:
If you create a USB startup key, make sure the USB is first in the FAT32 format.
Connect the USB
Open Computer
Click with the right button on USB
Click on Format
Make sure that FAT32 is selected as the file system.
After you have created a bootable copy, you can start the upgrade to Windows Vista:

original title: Gears of War for PC (Vista)
I installed Gears of War game CD on my computer (Windows VISTA) and make me "Please insert the correct DVD - ROM, click OK and restart the application" - but the disk is IN the drive. I've been on the net and does not know what is the problem and why this game will not run. I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled tried to run as administrator, got the latest patch, all the things that have said all sites to do - anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
Hi NoOneSpeciale,
It is very possible that your CD may be damaged. Is it possible to get another copy to try on your machine? Or try this copy on another machine to see if it works or not.
Also check in control panel--> system--> for you Device Manager make sure that there is no yellow/red icon next to the CD player and it's function correctly.Let us know the result, Kevin

I use Windows Vista and that you need to download SQL Server 2005 Express Service Pack 4. I get an error code 64 C help, please.
Hello
I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.
Method 1: Try to reset components to update Windows from the following link, which would help you to install the updates of windows. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058
Method 2: If the problem persists, then try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.
By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
Method 3: Also try to install the updates manually from the link below.

Try to install 4 ' important'updates on Windows Vista and get error codes: 80070641.
Try to install 4 ' important'updates on Windows Vista and get error codes: 80070641, who has had a lot of answers posted but none does not seem to work and I tried to install this upgrade for the last 6 months! (I did one where you made sure something is running in the Control Panel, but it works just not - I HATE Vista!)
Now just got a new error code: 6 to 8.
The updates, I can't update (!) are:
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4
- Update of security for MSOffice 2007 System
- Update for MS 2007 Office system
- Update for MSOffice Outlook 2007 Junk email filter
Unfortunately I'm not technically proficient at all and do not understand the jargon I've read on this site so if anyone has an answer, please could you write it as if you were talking to your grandma who only discovered what a mouse! ;-)
Thanks in advance
Sharon

Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!
As we need some clarification on this issue, could you please tell us.
(a) which is the update fails on your computer?
To know the update failure, you should check the history of update on your computer.
Steps to follow.
1. click on start.
2. type Windows Update in the search field.
In the upper left corner, you will find the update history.
Reset the Windows Update components
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058
Once the Windows Update components are reset, try to reinstall updates. To do so,
1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
2. click on the settings option to change on the left navigation bar. You will now be on a screen where you will be able to set up how to download and install the updates on your Windows 7 computer.
3. Select the option check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. When you have finished setting options that you want, press the OK button to save these settings. You will now be at the main screen of Windows Update.
4. in the left pane, click search for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.
5. you can then download the updates one or both.
6. click on install updates to install updates currently selected.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you get all the updates you want on your PC.
If these suggestions do not help I recommend checking out the link below for parts reset Windows Update and try to install the updates.
If you are not able to install updates in Normal mode, then you can start your computer in safemode, and then try to install the updates.
Follow this link provided below to start your computer in safe mode.

Windows Vista and even Windows 07?
I am trying to download a game, but the system is Windows XP or Windows Vista. Well, I have Windows 07 is Windows Vista and Windows 07 looked at the same thing?
Hello LittleRed,
If requirements call for Vista, so general, it should run fine under Windows 7. We are talking about 32-bit or 64-bit here? To be on the safe side, you could try to create a Restore Point before you download and install.
Let us know if you need more help and thank you for visiting the Microsoft Vista answers forum.
