Games/optimization of performance on Bootcamp?

Hey everybody,

My performance for games is very very low. I understand the m370x is not intended for a game exactly, but he should be able to decently run games to the smaller less settings I think about a $3,000 laptop that I use for video editing. I'm minus 20 FPS on all the games I try to rotate a 3d engine. I'm new to Bootcamp and it is a new installation for me so if I'm missing some type of optimization that would be amazing some tips.

Here's what I have:

Mid-2015 2.8 ghz 1 TB 16 gb

Properly installed Bootcamp for Windows 8.1 with the CURRENT drivers

I tried games such as Dayz (which my laptop of 650 m from 2012 runs perfectly... so why not this?) and many other steam games.

If I switch to Windows 10 victory 10 drivers which is an update to the gpu as well?

anyway in conclusion, that I would definitely make a few basic gaming on this computer until I can do to fix this?

Thank you!

Quick Upadate:

I upgraded to the latest Windows Update to AMD 10, but it has not improved much. I get an extra of 5 images or so...

    Hi all

    I bought a HP Envy dv6 (including Windows 8) in November 2012.

    In the past I had good experiences with...

    Avast

    Advanced System Care 6

    CCleaner

    IObit Malware Fighter

    Driver boost

    However, in Windows 8, it seems that some of them were because of issues with apps from metro.  I had to reset my computer to factory settings countless times because for some reason any my metro apps can not maintain an INTERNET CONNECTION.

    Hello!

    Thanks for posting in the forum to Support HP and you thank for your trust in HP!

    I'll try to answer some of your questions:

    For all those people who have good experiences with Windows 8.1... I was wondering what software you used to optimize performance?

    No, it works well on its own. Less you hit, the better. 3 party registry cleaners and optimizers should be used with caution by people with advance knowledge on the subject. More 3rd party (most, not all) optimizers are causing problems more than fix. Remove unnecessary programs, defrag automatically or auto (so HARD, not so SSD drive), run Disk Clean up, clear Temp folder.

    Avast

    Advanced System Care 6

    CCleaner

    IObit Malware Fighter

    Driver boost

    These I wouldn't use one of them.

    You guys are using any antivirus software or registry/maintenance software to optimize the performance of your PC which has not caused any problems?  Leave the windows firewall "on" your best option for protection?

    Light antivirus is ESET and clean of Windows Defender. Windows Firewall (firewall) is essential (critical) part of any system, computer security, network, so it must be turned on. To do this, * no * slow down your computer or your * network * traffic.

    Being without firewall you leave at the open to pirate computer/malware attacks and risk huge data.

    Antivirus software is also a kind of essential program to protect against known and unknown malware attacks. Windows Defender is integrated in Windows 8/8.1 if you don't like it, you can try ESET NOD32, Norton Antivirus...

    Chrome or Internet Explorer?

    They are both very light when it comes to performance. I personally chose IE 10 (my favorite - in win 7 and 8) and IE11. But that's my opinion. Use what suits you best. IE is very safe and stable in the latest versions of Windows. That is to say, I prefer because it is the 1st part, made from Microsoft and works.

    Make adjustments to settings PC (like the game "never notify" in the settings of the user account, etc.)?

    User account control is also very good part of the guarantee. In fact, it helps the principle of "least privilege" security and helps your programs to run with the least amount of law they can. I recommend that you use the value default level3 or the more level '4 always notify when. User account control can help you prevent malicious attacks / viruses / threats.

    What are some software 'must have' that you found useful?

    In my opinion, there is no such thing as software should be - everyone installs and uses what they need. Statistics show that most people (98% or more) use Microsoft Office. Many have some archivers zip/rar as 7-zip, video software like VideoLAN, etc... It depends on what you need. Antivirus software...

    Hello

    As Frederik advised, saving No. tune-up, not so-called Optimizer program, no registry cleaners should be used.

    See if this helps you improve performance.

    Search for malicious software with the FREE version of this program.

    This is the right link to download included.

    And does not accept the option "Pay for the version" trial installation

    Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

    You can clean your hard drive using these two methods.

    "Delete files using Disk Cleanup"

    "How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

      The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • How to optimize the performance of this code?

    I have two clips on a flash project. One of them is fixed and the other can be moved with the arrow keys of the keyboard. The two clips have irregular shapes, so HitTestObject and HitTestPoint does not work very well. I have a function that detects the collision of two clips using bitmap. I wanted to update the position of the Movie clip mobile so I put the function of collision detection under the ENTER_FRAME event listener code. It works fine, but when I add many fixed film clips (about 10 clips fixed in an image), the game (.swf file) becomes slower and slows down the performance of the PC. I thought that my collision detection function has a negative effect on the performance of the PC, so I used the class on this page: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/873737
    but the same thing happens.

    You told me how to do to speed up execution of my codes?

    Here's the part of my code:

    stage.addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, myOnEnterFrame);

    function myOnEnterFrame(event:Event):void

    {

    If (doThisFn) / / doThisFn is a variable to allow or prevent the kind of mobile film clip moved with arrow keys

    {

    If (left & &! right) {}

    Player.x = speed;

    Player.rotation = player.rotation - speed;

    }

    If (right & &! left) {}

    Player.x += speed;

    Player.rotation = player.rotation + speed;

    }

    If (up & &! down) {}

    Player.y = speed;

    }

    If (down & &! up) {}

    Player.y += speed;

    }

    The clips of film sets are wall1, wall2, wall3, wall4,... and so on
    the following code checks to see how many walls exist on each image and pushes them in table wallA

    for (var i: int = 0; i < 1000; i ++) / / you can put up to 1000 object of wall in the table wallA

    {

    If (this ['wall' + i]) / / if the wall object exists, push it into the table wallA

    {

    wallA.push (this, ['wall' + i]);

    }

    }

    for (i = 0; i < wallA.length; i ++)

    {

    If ( h.hitF (player, wallA [i]) | gameOverTest) / / this code checks whether or not the player (the mobile clip) hit the walls

    {

    trace ("second try");

    gameOver.visible = true;

    doThisFn = false;

    }

    }

    I think the following codes are easy to turn and run. I think that the performance problem is due to previous codes.

    If (player.hitTestObject (door))

    {

    Win.Visible = true;

    doThisFn = false;

    }

    If (key) / / if there is a key on chassis

    {

    If (player.hitTestObject (key))

    {

    Key.Visible = false;

    switch (currentFrame)

    {

    case 4:

    wallA [0] .visible = false;

    .x wallA [0] = 50000;

    break;

    case 5:

    wall14. Play();

    wall8.x = 430;

    break;

    }

    }

    }

    }

    }

    It's a simple question that doesn't usually have a simple answer.

    Here is an excerpt of a book (Flash game development: in a Social, Mobile and 3D world) I wrote.

    Optimization techniques

    Unfortunately, I don't know any way completely satisfactory to organize this information. In what follows, I discuss memory management first with sub-themes listed in alphabetical order. Then I discuss the management of CPU/GPU with subheadings listed in alphabetical order.

    This may sound logical, but at least, there are two problems with this organization.

    1. I don't think it's the most useful way to organize this information.

    2. memory management affects the CPU/GPU use, so that everything in the section of memory management can also be listed in the section CPU/GPU.

    In any case, I'll also list information in two other ways, from the easiest to the most difficult to implement and more for much less.

    Two of these later inscriptions are subjective and dependent on experience developer and capabilities, as well as environmental test and the test situation. I very much doubt there would be a consensus on the order of these lists.  However, I think that they are still valid.

    Easier to the more difficult to implement

    1. do not use the filters.

    2. always use the reverse for loops and avoid loops and avoid while loops.

    3. explicitly stop timers for their loan for gc (garbage collection).

    4. use the weak event listeners and remove headphones.

    5. strictly type variable when possible.

    6. explicitly disable interactivity mouse when interactivity smile not necessary.

    7. replace dispatchEvents with callback functions whenever possible.

    8 it would be gc stop sounds for the sounds and SoundChannels.

    9. use the DisplayObject most basic need.

    10. always use cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix with air applications (i.e., mobile).

    11. reuse of objects when possible.

    12 Event.ENTER_FRAME loops: use different listeners and different listener functions applied to DisplayObjects as little as possible.

    13. the pool instead of creating objects and gc objects ' ing.

    14. use partial blitting.

    15. use step blitting.

    16 use Stage3D

    Biggest advantage less

    1. Use the blitting Stadium (if there is enough memory system).
    2. Use Stage3D.
    3. Use partial blitting.
    4. Use cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix with mobile devices.
    5. Disable explicitly interactivity mouse when interactivity smile not necessary.
    6. Do not use filters.
    7. Use the most basic necessary DisplayObject.
    8. Reuse objects whenever possible.
    9. Event.ENTER_FRAME loops: use different listeners and different listener functions applied to DisplayObjects as little as possible.
    10. Use reverse for loops and avoid the do loops and while loops.
    11. The pool instead of creating objects and gc'ing.
    12. Strictly, type variable when possible.
    13. Use weak event listeners and remove headphones.
    14. Replace dispatchEvents by the callback functions whenever possible.
    15. Explicitly stop timers on loan for the gc.

    16 stop sounds for the sounds and SoundChannels be gc would be.

  • Most of the games directx9 + who have played a lot on XP and the beta version of Windows 7 was even faster as GTA4 drag along with the latest updates to HW and SW. Games & all the performance Console is to kill the pc (if im a 4 pc now)

    Hi, I bought Vista 64 bit earlier and it almost made me for the mac, but when I first tried win7 beta and it was great on a lower technical platform and could not wait for full details. so, I bought a brand new platform last i7 CPU and 6 GB DDR 3 channels and the latest Nvidia 275GTX 1765 MB Vram Grfx and could not do more than what was and is still ongoing. I installed my new win 7 64 bit 1 and was a bit off on how he has been slow to version beta on a platform nearly 5 years I used 7800GTX Athlon 64 4200, as what are you do looks great and moves faster than this in. * Vista. All my old game where _ while people with nearly the same and less spec flight here by so I switched to the 32 bit (good by my 3 extra GB installed) running. It was a little better, but the games that are 3 years old just down or blue screen. SO why go back in the power PC (XBox 360 + dales come to mind) are really trying to kill the power of the pc to the console, PDA etc.? So it seems that XP is the only one for some UM with games, virtual xp mode is a waste. So if you have something good, well, until a better operating system just to please let the people have because we are all put you into your work time back. Please notify.

    Hello microblackhole,

    I understand that Windows 7 gaming performance do not meet the requirements you're looking for.

    I wish to inform you that with Windows 7, you get to use 4 GB of Random Access Memory.

    The major problem with your computer, it seems that there are a few old games that break with blue screens.

    Windows 7 comes with Direct X 10 preinstalled. So you should try to understand what are the games that are broken.

    Here are a few methods that you can analyze the reasons why the games are block:

    Compatibility:

    Check if the games are compatible with Windows 7. You can run the troubleshoot compatibility utility to discover the solutions to run the games:

    1. open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting.

    2. under programs, click on run programs for previous versions of Windows.

    Read this article which will give you more information about this:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-program-compatibility-Troubleshooter

    Analyze the event viewer:

    I suggest you analyze the event viewer to find what could be causing the crash games.

    1. open the start menu and type event viewer in the start menu search bar. Open event viewer from the menu.
    2. in the case of Viewer click Windows logs in the left panel.
    3. click on application under Windows Logs logs.
    4. search for the error messages listed in the event viewer window Central Panel and double-click on the error to check if it log is related to games that are broken.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

    You can check the link which will help you analyze the entries below Event Viewer:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

  • How to play games with maximum performance?

    Hello
    There is a problem with my laptop (HP Pavilion dm4-1265dx Entertainment PC) performance, the gmes are really slow, my brother has a HP Pavillion dv6 and it supports all types of games, I may know the answer, when it plug the charger the whole screen goes black and then return in 1 second and then he can play games.

    The dm4 is better than the dv6, but I think the dv6 supports ATI Readon Mobility when plug it in the charger, but I can not activate my Readon SMA so I guess how to use performance professionalism when I plug the charger.

    I've tried so far things:

    The advanced 1) Changed power settings and selecting maximum performance when I plug in the charger.
    (2) Changed the graph options, Intel Graphics Media Panel and the maximum performance when connected to the charger.

    Please answer, thanks :)

    Looks like its included video card is much more powerful than the included Intel graphic card using your laptop. Who can make a huge difference in the game.

  • How to optimize the performance of this query SQL

    Hello

    I need to find the age for each day, but I need for all previous dates in a single query. So I used the following query:

    Select trunc (sysdate) - level + 1 DATE

    trunc (sysdate) - level + 1 - created_date AGE

    elements

    connect by trunc (sysdate) - level + 1 - created_date > 0

    I get output (FOR the DATE and AGE) that is fine and correct:

    DATE AGE

    JUNE 27, 15 13

    JUNE 26, 15 12

    25 JUNE 15 11

    24 JUNE 15 10

    Now I need to calculate the average age for each day and I added the average in the following query:

    Select trunc (sysdate) - level + 1 DATE .

    AVG (trunc (sysdate) - level + 1 - created_date) AVERAGE_AGE

    elements

    connect by trunc (sysdate) - level + 1 - created_date > 0

    Group of trunc (sysdate) - level + 1

    This query is correct? When I add the aggregate (avg) function to this query, it takes 1 hour to retrieve the data. When I remove the average request function that gives the result in 2 seconds? What is the solution to calculate the average without affecting performance? Help, please

  • How can I optimize/upgrade my L750D satellite for games?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L750D-10U (processor AMD E-350).

    My computer becomes more I like too slow for the programs to run. What I spend on my laptop and what changes can I make on my system to make it work better. Or should I just buy a new computer?

    My processor clock speed is clocked at 1.6 GHz and I need at least 2.8 GHz for some of the games I like to play. The games also advise having 1 GB or more graphic dedicated, my computer will be able to have a dedicated graphics chip installed?

    Thank you, Harry Lewis

    > My clock speed of processor is clocked at 1.6 GHz and I need at least 2.8 GHz for some of the games I like to play.

    As far as I know this laptop was equipped with a 1.8 Ghz AMD PHENOM2 P960 CPU.
    Here's a nice page that compares the different processors.
    http://www.CPU-world.com/benchmarks/AMD/Phenom_II_P960_single.html

    The Phenom II CPU P960 should not be used in order to play the latest games. P960 performance is comparable to the Intel Core 2 Duo T5270

    However, the laptop supports the AMD Radeon HD 6330 M and 8 GB of RAM.
    This is why older games should run correctly.

    However, in case you're a gamer, I advise to use desktop PCs from parts of office equipment that PC can be exchanged and it is easy to improve such unit.

    Hello

    Oracle 10g has several new features for performance, such as dbms_xplan.display_cursor, then a book 10 g AWR/ASH etc is usually better in your case. However, some tuning books are forever for example (Milsap and Holt) and it does not really matter tht they speak of same 8i or 9i.

    I use OS X 10.11.3 for study and work, and I also install Windows via Bootcamp 8.1 for the games. (just a small game, but the performance of NewMB doesn't allow to view windows)

    I download the windows from the MSDN site image and install using BootCamp, but after about a week, the windows crashed and gave me the following error SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (WppRecorder.sys)

    For this reason, I reinstall Windows, each week, and I already reinstall the 8.1 to win nearly ten times. I tried several versions of windows images, I'm sure that the image is good. I have also tried to format the entire disk, reinstall OS X and Windows, but it always gives me an error.

    Last week, I went to the Apple Store, the guy in the genius bar told me it might be a driver problem and told me to try to get into safe mode and uninstall the drivers can cause this. But Windows gives me the same error even I enter safe mode. So I reinstall it again, but I haven't used pilots bootcamp for windows from Apple, I install all the drivers manually (because the lastest bootcamp will give an error during installation and I thought it cause this accident)

    Today, Windows crash again, fortunately, Windows auto repairs and I connect windows successfully after the auto repair.

    Then I check the Windows journal file in C:\Windows\Minidump\ (files here records blue screen errors and crashes) and he told me, the crash is because the cdrom.sys.

    But I never install the driver CD, and also there is no cd drive in the macbook.

    A knowledge why does this happen? and how do I solve this problem?

    Do you have the active Windows automatic update?

  • Conflict of a process 'rundll32.exe' while playing games

    Some of the games I play: NFS Carbon, a "rundll32.exe" process is also generated at the same time. This process makes use of the processor to 100%, which makes my PC too slow like a SNAIL. In some devastating diseases, 75% of the list of all the processes in the Task Manager is filled with "rundll32.exe". This process is in the 'System32' of 'Windows' folder in C:\. My Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 also ignores this process like a virus. My PC is also equipped with A 3 GB of RAM, AMD 2.01 GHz processor and a nVIDIA 9400GT 1 GB gaming graphics card. Its quite pathetic that I can't play a simple game like NFS Carbon with this configuration. Please help me as soon as possible...

  • Stop all the computer activity so that playing a game

    How can I stop the background of all the Internet and Windows process while I play a game. It always happens that my games freeze because of some mysterious process that is running Windows Vista. In the old days, you can load files from ms - dos command set and that solved the problem

    There are software utilities that can do this, but the name of them escapes me at the moment. I would not say that in any case on current systems. The performance gain will be not sufficiently notable to make it useful and then having to manually restart the services and/or process could be a pain.

    You can launch the task (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Manager and put an end to "Explorer.exe". This will give you some of your physical memory and the processor power, but not much.

    Looking for an online software that allows you to automate the process. I think that something in the sense of 'Game Optimizer' would give you something to go off of, be very careful scams.

    You can always kill the startup items in MSCONFIG. This way you won't have 1 million launching applications in the background when Windows starts.

    Try this:

    1. click on START

    (If you are using Windows XP...)

    2. click on run, type "msconfig" and press on enter

    (If you are running Windows Vista...)

    2 type "msconfig" and press enter
    3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries that you see are not necessary. Some examples would be qtask, pcfmon, Skype, msnmsgr, etc.

    * It won't hurt to disable them, you can easily repeat the steps and re-enable them if necessary

    Hope this helps,

    Thank you!

  • Get the debugging box when PC game opens and closes and then crashes

    Game crashing on Vista

    I open the program to play my PC game and I get an error of debugging and closing program on my screen, then it disappears and the game opens normally.  Then I get about 20 minutes in the game and it crash and send me on the desktop and the program closes itself.  I have DEP problems, but I think I solved those with the fix tool.  But why the fracas?

    Hello

    Don't forget to check with the Game Maker support and ask in their forums known issues
    as others have probably experienced similar problems.

    =====================================================================

    It is a fairly complete general performance convenience store that should help in the
    issue. Use the startup clean and other methods to see if you can identify the cause and/or
    eliminate the problem.

    What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER
    on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause
    strange problems).

    ===========================================

    Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

    This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

    -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
    For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
    Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

    For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
    Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
    your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
    Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
    Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
    with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

    Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
    Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
    BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
    presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
    in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

    If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
    Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
    older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
    get new manually if you wish.
