  We need power RF amplifier with a function generator to create plasma in an ion source. The signal pulse duration must be 1ms long, repeated twice per second.

  Today, we work in the following way: we spend the RF with f0 (aprox 1,995 MHz) frequency. After 20, we send a trigger signal passing frequency f1 (aprox 2.005 MHz).  We keep this frequency for the rest of the pulse.  However, the plasma that we generate is not 'constant' or stable during the whole impulse. If we smoothly change the frequency during the pulse we could improve.

  We would like to do: use the frequency sweep: rather than use this frequency hopping, we would like to move smoothly f0 f1 (frequency scanning). Then F1 to f2.

  As we have a PXI for data analysis, we believe using the arbitrary function generator of NOR: 5406 of NEITHER allowing the frequency sweep. However, in the book loads, it is not very clear, and I have a few questions:

  -We can create a "list of frequencies. In the site OR below, it shows that the "minimum of Step' is 1.28us, which would be ok for us (I understand that the"minimum duration of Step"is the minimum time between 2 frequencies). However, the manual of the device "NI PXI/PCI-5402/5406 specifications" said the frequency list has a time step of 1 ms to 21s. What is the good?

  -It is also said that the "duration of minimum list" is 1 s. For us, need us a shorter list that 0.5 seconds (we need to repeat the same pulse twice per second.). Is it possible to do what we want?

  -At the end of the day, we would like to implement a control loop which modifies the list of frequencies in real-time.

  Hi Jose,

  You're right about the inconsistencies of the documentation. The minimum step was of 1 ms, but was changed to 1.28 µs to driver version 2.6. The help document has been modified to reflect that, but the specifications were not. I'll make sure that attaches.

  The length of the minimum list is not listed in the book loads, and the latest version of the help the signal generators OR (driver version 2.9) lists the minimum list than the 1 step length. Aid has changed to the driver version 2.6.1 to clarify that the 1s meant 1 step. I've attached a screenshot of the help of the most recent.

  There is an example that is installed with the NOR-FGEN driver called "Fgen Sweep Generator.vi". I would recommend from this for your application.

  I hope that some of the inconsistencies in our documentation brightened. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  Hi all, I have a driver file that generates the screenshot XY graph.  I want to measure the period, using the measurement functions in the LabVIEW palette.  Can someone tell me how to convert this type of signal "in".  The X (time) and Y (power) are all there, but it causes an error when I son together?

  I want to build an exe from a VI that use Report Generation Toolkit. The application must be deployed on multiple PCs using Office 2000. During the development phase, I installed Office 2000 on my PC, and everything was ok. After that I was with her, I have reinstalled Office 2007. The Report Generation Toolkit to my PC is so for Office 2000 (it was installed when I had Office 2000 on my PC).

  These days I had to fix a few bugs in my application, I did a new exe but the part that generates the Word reports (using the GTA) doesn't work anymore - I received this error with-35... 9935 (or something like that).

  I tried to find the problem and I found this: with exactly the same VI (_Word dynamic VIs.vi - for Office 2000) nodes invoke from a PC with Office 2007 and Office 2000 PC look different. For example, in Word_Open_Document.vi, the node to invoke Document is different for a PC with Office 2000 + GTA for the year 2000 and a PC with Office 2007 + GTA for Office 2000 (no error).

  So, I tried to copy the VI from a PC with Office 2000 + GTA 2000 on my PC but I can't build it because I get the error: there are a few errors in dynamic VIs.vi _Word (invoke nodes do not match).

  Finally, my question is: How can I build the exe on my PC: 2007, but with GTA for Office 2000 Office?

  Thank you for your advice. Can you please tell me what you mean with the envelope vi? I don't really understand what you mean.

  Furthermore, I solved the problem. I discovered that the nodes invoke are updated based on the object library for the ActiveX control (in this case the MS Office). The data types are store in the msword9.olb (version 9 - for office 2000 in the Office folder) and msword.olb (version 12 - for office 2007 also in the Office folder). I tried to save the msword9.olb (using the regsvr32.exe) but it does not work for olb files - I need the ocx or dll. But, if I can replace the msword.olb since Office 2007 Office msword9.olb 2000 everything works.

  OK, measures that need to be made:

  1. install the GTA for Office 2000 on the PC

  2. DON'T change anything in the VIs.vi _Word_Dynamic. When Office 2007 is installed the VI arrow should be ventilated (error in VI)

  3 copy the msword9.olb for a system with Office 2000 (or your version) and copy it to your system with Office 2007 with the new name msword.olb. Are NOT FORGET to make a backup of the original file to MS Office 2007 and handing it to the end.

  4. once the new msword.olb is there, the VIs.vi _Word_Dynamic should be no error

  5. build your app exe

  6. restore the old msword.olb

  7. ENJOY your life!

• Why C++ SDK always generates some clips from uncompensated image?

  I created a first with video image drop sequence, when I try to make a clip with MXF OP1a preset file using C++ SDK (controller of the exporter)), it's always the video playback image fall not.

  I tried directly from first ( "file-> export-> Media...' ") to export the movie with the same preset file and it works fine.

  I found a comparisons quests (why SDK always generates image trim clips? ) who asked previously, but no solution is given for the particular problem

  It is specifically export controller API.  We are aware of this problem (bug #4122394) and research in a fix for a future version.

  In my current project, I read a periphera voltage signal. the signal lead noise even after filtering.  So, to identify the necessary data, I averaged the signal.

  I have attached the file with an image of graphics. In this graph, the recorded data are drawn black and medium online graph is plotted in red. Now, I have to calculate the ratio of signal to noise to specify with these peak values. How to do?

  As the signal passes through zero, be careful in the way you set the signal / noise.  For sinusoidal signals, that ratio is defined as the RMS value of the noise (the signal with the desired sinusoidal signal deleted) divided by the effective value of sinusoidal component.

  First of all I would like to subtract the average value of the raw signal.  The difference is the noise.  You can set the signal / noise.  A RMS calculation might work.  If you have a mathematical model for the desired signal, a fitting for this model can be useful too.

  It's a very quick way to do it: initialize your shift registers.

  What happens in your VI is that, after the VI stops (when you click the stop button) the data contained in the shift registers (your matrices X and Y) remains in memory, if you rerun the VI it will add data in these tables.

  To initialize your shift, registers, you need to connect vacuum table them before the while loop. Like this:

  There is an implicit conversion from XMLType to the data type VARCHAR2 as expected by the function TO_CLOB, where the limitation, and the error.

  To serialize XMLType to CLOB, use the XMLSerialize function:

  There is no API to export controllers to intercept or to modify the rendering, contained in the .epr file being used.
