Generation of reports in executable files

By using LabVIEW 2012 SP1, I created a vi that opens an Excel file and puts a string of data (time stamp and a bit of data).  He travels once per second and adds the file very well on my laptop.  My problem is that when I create an executable file, the generation of reports does not work.  The loop works fine collects data, but Excel does not open.  Can someone tell me what's the trick?

Thank you

Brad

You should be able to add a right click on 'My Computer' in the LabVIEW project and select 'Add' ""file... ". »

In the window that opens, you should be able to access your folder of Installation of LabVIEW to Excel class realized. An example of his path on my system for LabVIEW 2012 looks like this: (you will probably need to change this)

C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb\Excel\NI_Excel.lvclass

Once the class appears in your project, you should be able to add to the section "Still included" the "Source Files" category in the build specification.

Kind regards

  • Generation of reports on Linux

    Platform:

    LabVIEW 8.6 on Fedora 10.

I'd be right in assuming that .doc and .xls format of the reports can not be generated under Linux (I can't find anything in the few documents that I read, but it would be logical to assume that)?

LabVIEW support .odt formats and .ods does for the generation of reports (openoffice)?

OpenOffice can read and write files .doc and .xls (imperfectly) most, however.

Just to clarify, the GTA use the API ActiveX Office to generate the report, then it will not work on Linux in all cases (unless something like Mono can allow that sort of thing, but I guess it does not).

I have a vague recollection that the HTML screws do not exist in reality (e.g. HTML appears in the list of options, but there is no screw actually generate the HTML pages). That said, I can be remembering incorrectly. The code is open source, it should be easy enough to look inside and see. If the screws of HTML code and are only ASCII, then probably you can copy the screw on the Linux machine and use them, although I don't know if that is allowed by the license.

If your needs are minimal and you know the HTML language, you can probably write the code yourself, although it will take probably a few work.

  • generation of reports for the FPGA VI

    Hello..

I want to include the number of resources used by FPGA (LUTs, slices, blockrams etc) in my report generation.

Time the build completed, a window showing these resources will occur. But, how can I add this report compilation in my generation of report...

    Please let me know...

    Thank you

    Hi Julie

One idea would be to copy the data from the device file Utilization Summary in your report. See this KB for more information and an example of the layout of the file (which is quite complex, sorry) the path in the KB guess you LV FPGA 8.5, if you for example LV 2009 would be the path:

    NIFPGA2009\srvrTmp\localhost\\toplevel_gen_xst.log C:\.

It must be remembered that this file only contains information on the latest compilation so you will only be able to get the info from this compilation, but that should be enough, if I understand your intent.

    Best regards

  • LabVIEW 8.6 Build ends immediately with any executable file

    Hi all

By reading the subject line, I'm going to venture that many of you are probably thinking I screwed up my spec to build, but I don't think I did. : smileywink: (I'll be really embarrassed if that's the case)

I just opened a project, LabVIEW 8.5.1 to 8.6, made some changes and then tried to run my spec to build to generate an executable. Mind you, it worked perfectly for months in 8.5.1, I I know that this does not mean it will work now. The build completed immediately without special message, producing no executable file.  (see dialog box)  I thought it was some fluke by converting to 8.6, so I tried the following:

1 double, triple and quadruple check my build specifications to make sure that I don't goof somewhere

2A started around and made a new build specification (as in the good old days when versions 7.x and earlier failed)

3 move the folder of generation out of my automatic settlement hierarchy.  I thought for sure that would be the problem, but it didn't fix it.

4 mass compiled the project hierarchy, thinking that if the generation detects changes, it will start from scratch.  (Nothing).

No matter what I do, I get the immediately attached dialog box and nothing happens. Has anyone seen this?  There is something stupid that I missed?

    Thank you very much

    Jim

Okay, so after some trial and error, I managed to go beyond that...  It seems that LabVIEW has a sort of cache for the names of executable files generated by the construction specifications.  I renamed my executable file and it began to build normally...  Even if I moved the destination for the executable, it would not yet build, but rename the executable file itself fixed.  Very strange; I've never met this before.

  • Generation of reports with short

    Hello

We strive to implement the short Logging and reporting in our application. I followed the LogServerReportGen.pdf provided by short.

    1. we have implemented of the logging API calls in our code.
2 created a component logserver in Workbench and specified details
    3. has created a generation of report Workbech componentin

When I am trying to start the component reporting the failure, I'm not able to determine what is the problem here.

Also we need to develop and new script and it made available in workbech to generate the report? Works of this generation of report.

Then some a list on what Miss me?

    Thank you
    DEV

You get a report generated, but it is empty, is that correct? If Yes, then this is probably there is no recording of data for the period of the report. In your example, the log data are all for now - if you run the GenerateDailyReport script, it will pull in data logging for yesterday. Try to copy the logserver_output file, by renaming the stamp of date / hour yesterday, by modifying the file do a search/replace 12_12_17 with 12_12_16, and then run the GenerateDailyReport script again.

  • My MacBook 12 regularly gets an analysis of needs of Unix executable file names in her basket

My MacBook 12 regularly gets a Unix executable file named 'needsanalysis' in his trash. Anyone have any idea why? What is it? What can I do to stop what is happening?

I have two laptops on a an environment MBA 2011 and a 2016 MB and it happens on the latter. Both are on OSX 10.11.6

    Thank you, Colin.

The executable "unix" just means that it doesn't have an extension for the operating system is not what it is. In addition, the executable bits are defined, so it may have been a case, but this info was lost, too.

Do you run all software anti-virus on them? I don't know what else would generate something that "needs analysis".

  • How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

It seems that used to be possible using disk utility, but not more for some reason any.

    Hi Frank

Not sure, what do you mean by executable video file, assume you mean play on a DVD player.

You create an image file to DVD in iMovie, FCPX etc... This allows the correct coding and the structure files for DVD, s / BDs.

Once you have the .img file, you can (control) click on the file and choose ' burn Image 'File name' disk drive...» »

Be aware that you need a R/W drive mounted/Secretary for the contextual elements appear. If you have a Blu - ray image, you need a BD player. Your file must be less than 4.7 GB for single DVDs faces or ~8.2GB for the DVD DLs. to 100GBs for quad layer BDs.

There are other 3rd party there as well.

    Hope this helps, Greg

  • My Avira Antivirus has been removed and the executable file Recovery Disc Creator

    Hello

I want to create recovery DVDs, but I can't use Recovery Disc Creator because Avira deleted the executable file. How to do it?

    Thanks in advance

I use Avira if a long time now and I've never experienced something like that. It's pretty bad situation now.

Creator of recovery disk Toshiba cannot be downloaded and what you can do now is to reinstall the OS using the HARD drive recovery option, then when the laptop has once again factory settings, you will be able to start this tool and create the recovery disk.

Out of curiosity, what model of laptop you have exactly?

There is no specific substitutions that solve this problem 'in configuration and only few implementation".

The point is that you should follow the following steps:

    1. check the size of the file after writing a new segment of report data.

    2. If size > configured the file size, create a new file. Write a footer in the previous file, duplicate the header for the new file information and store the handle to file for all the previous files.

    3. once the test is complete, update the header in all files (remember: the header contains the overall result of the ESA.) This is known only when the test is finished!) and finalize all the report files.

In the plugins default report, none of the above functions is applied.

You want may also focus on 'File offline results' as a reporting mechanism. It might be easier to change things using this approach, unless you go the recommended manner: database.

  • USB-6008 how to move an executable file to another computer.

Hello Forums NOR!  Please bear with me as I'm new to products OR as well as this forum.  Hope I have write in good advice.  I'm an electronics technician with over 30 years of experience in a variety of hardware and software that is trying to move an executable file from an old computer to Windows XP on a new computer Win 8.

First of all, I just moved the file .exe itself.   When it is run, it produces an error dialog box: "Unable to locate the LabVIEW run-time engine" "this executable requires a 2011 version (or compatible) LabVIEW Run - Time Engine."

Then I ran the installation disc driver supplied with the USB-6008 module.  Now, the executable will start but it does not seem to connect with the USB-6008, because it does not have the digital I/o.

I can run NI MAX and see the USB module as well as test the analog and the digital I/o so I know the hardware works.

I've been surfing on the knowledge base and found references to .dll & .vi type support files, but have no idea of which ones to get and where they might be.

This is possible without having to recompile the exe file?  I have no access to the source files.

    Thank you!

  • LabVIEW FPGA: Not possible to create an executable file that uses the FPGA in Simulation Mode? I get a weird error code

When I try to create an executable from a host VI that has an "Open FPGA VI" reference who has run, the value "Dev computer w / Sim i/o" value, the application is built without error but when I try to run it, it opens with an arrow broken to run and has the following error:

"VI has an error of type 2302200.  The full development of LabVIEW version is necessary to correct mistakes. "In fact, he repeats this message two times in the same window for some reason any.

Moreover, I * have the LabVIEW full development version and I use 2010 SP1

While the error message is not as clear as it could be, you're right: you cannot run an executable file that tries to run an FPGA VI in the simulation.  It would be nice if there was an error in compiling.  I always forget to switch to run on the target FPGA before building my application and discover the error until I have it copied on the system in the laboratory.
