  I transferred to another PC development project. When I opened it, some of my shared network variables (NSV) have been marked with errors of functionality: "Initial value: not allowed or can not be changed outside of LabVIEW.". I found out it's because I didn't install the DSC Module on the newer machine. removal of the function 'initial value' made the error message disappear.

  Question 1

  I didn't know that the initial value function was part of the DSC Module. If I use it in a project, means that my client needs to buy a DSC run-time license? (I don't use another function DSC)

  In my project, the NSV in question was hosted on a target of cRIO, yet my prototype (which had an initial value enabled) was happily running without problems. This contradicts the above documentation that says «you must host variables shared on Windows» Should it?

  I created a new NSV on my new machine (which has not installed a DSC). I saw the option of "Graduation". Is scaling part of the DSC module or not?

  Sorry for the delay so much. Finally got some time to play with the model and by downloading the source code for dynamicTabTemplate and substituting the closeIcon worked like a charm.
  Let me summarize what I did to help someone who is looking for it :)
  (1) download the source code for dynamicTabTemplate
  (2) added and additional attribute to the model closeTab

  (2) the dynamicTabShell.jspx edition, closeIcon commanlink actionListener to be linked to the "#{viewScope.tabContext.closeIcon}".
  (3) implemented the method of closeIcon in TabContext

  (9) implementation of the method closeIcon with custom code to confirm the page close prior to removal of the tab.

  However as you say, I will keep tab on the future updates of the default model tab updates fail bug fixes or improvements.

• Why don't LR5 will save correctly user Presets in the export Module?

  I saw several other people post this question in this forum, but none of them got a response. I expect no better answer, but I don't know what else to try.

  When I create or edit a preset user in the export module exports the image properly, it does not correctly save the preset. I created a new Preset earlier, changed export it to hard, specified a specific output file, set the parameters of quality and resize it and checked the box to have give sharpening for screen. He created the jpeg format correctly, and it registered a new file in the correct location. But the preset file my settings was not in it. It's all default values, such as export to Email, size 500 px, no sharpening, etc.

  How can I fix it?

  Well, I thought about it, so I thought I'd share the answer for the next time someone runs into it. It turned out to be the sequence of steps that was the problem.

  I add me the new user preset, then setting the various parameters like I wanted, and then click Export. I assumed it would be to update the model and export the file, because it did not separate the button Save. Evil.

  The sequence correct, totally counterintuitive, is to open the dialog box export, do all the desired settings, THEN click the Add button to create the new preset. You don't even have to click on the export button. Close the preset add dialogue after giving it a unique name causes LR to save the new preset.

  So, there you go. I hope it helps someone.

• How to trigger an alarm in the DSC module if, after alarming reactivation

  My application monitors a large number of tags.  I set up the user interface to allow the user to temporarily disable the alarm for some time.  For example, if someone opens the door to a freezer, then it closes, the label of the temperature goes into alarm.  Since we know why the alarm has occurred, the operator can deactivate the alarm for a couple of hours.  When the alarm is reactivated for this tag, if it is still in the range of alarm, he should be back in alarm.  The problem is that it is not.  Is there a way to programmatically alarm status?  I use also the alarms & events display component ActiveX to acknowledge alarms, so I prefer not to use the user defined alarms.  Any ideas would be greatly useful.

  Not sure because I never build windows like that. I first create the window, then add the button on a separate line.

  In my PC, I have 3 serial ports. before installing the DSC module in my system, I can configure the ports series all the... but, when I finished installation of the DSC module, 2 ports is not between these 3 serial ports.
