  In your case I would recommend you to connect an external USB keyboard and test the laptop as part of this external keyboard.
  In case the external keyboard would work perfectly, the problem is not related to the keyboard controller, but your internal keyboard and to solve this problem, the internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

  Hi, I have a Pavilion m61045dx notebook for Windows 7 64-bit.  I managed to get any installation Simplepass chose Google Chrome as a browser, because it seems that Firefox does not support this version of Simplepass 5.4, and then the fingerprint reader has stopped working.  I found a suggestion on this forum or another, can't remember now that said to go to the Device Manager and choose the validity and under power management sensor, uncheck the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".  Rebooted as directed and Voila! validity sensor works again. But now every time that the computer will sleep the validity sensor does not power back upward with the rest of the computer.  Whenever this happens, I was able to make it back by going to Device Manager and the deactivation and reactivation of the validity sensor and then restart.  But seriously, what a pain.  Any suggestions?  I'd be happy to find that it is just a matter of setting, but failing that maybe an update to the latest version for my machine.  Unfortunately, the software Simplepass has no option ' check for updates ', or device driver updates either.  Any suggestions?

  I'm not very keen with the terminology of my computer, but I'll try to explain my situation better than I can.

  I think that the problem began with a recent trip where I went out of State and took my laptop, I had problems connecting to wifi it. I was originally a bridge between Ethernet and wifi connection I think (something I said should not be the problem) and I had to take off for my wifi to work and once I did that my wifi worked well there. Once I came home however, my computer connects to my wifi at home and say I have 'internet access' but does not load anything on Firefox or Internet Explorer. I have already tried to rebuild the bridge, restart my laptop and analyses of virus. I know that my Internet works so if someone could help understand me what needs to change in my settings, or whatever it is I would be very happy.

I went through the process, because you detailed to reinstall by the Manager for devices with few positive results. After inserting disc the display shows the "legal warning to copy years etc. but don't can't play. In fact there is no play button is displayed. Others are there as advance fast volume and so on, but that's all. Yes, several discs have been attempted with similar results. (This is not a Blue Ray system. "It's a basic dvd Setup.)

  Startup Repair and system restore are two different things.

  System Restore is used to put the settings of your machine to a previous point in time before that happen a certain problem. I hope it would work.

  Startup Repair is used if your machine does not fully start in Windows.

  Make sure that you are not looking to restore to factory settings. Who says back to nine and erases all data from the hard drive.

  You can try to connect a USB mouse to use to try of difficulty and derivation for now the Touchpad problem.

  SHRFAX is not the name of a pilot.  In fact, there is no file in Windows XP, named shrfax (with any extension).  In addition, even if the driver is called 'Microsoft Shared Fax Driver', it cannot be shared in the usual sense of the term.

  SHRFAX is the port assigned to Windows Fax name.

  Windows XP fax is somewhat an enigma.  Not much information is easily found on this subject.  However, the Windows XP fax is notoriously difficult and fragile.

  I don't know a specific fix for your issue, but whereas that uninstallation and reinstallation of Windows applications in general often fixes things, that's what I suggest you do that.

  1. Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Compents (icon in the left column)
  2. Uncheck the 'Fax Services', complete the Windows Components Wizard and restart.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and the box this time...

  I've upgraded to windows 7 and things where works very well with the quick launch buttons

  but now, no matter what I do to try and fix the problem does'nt last for a long time. I tried a solution

  by unpluging the power plug then disconnect the battery and then hold the power

  button for 30 sec. This should solve the problem on a base in the short term. Is there a download that

  I suggest you try the methods below and check if it helps.
