GET RID OF YAHOO BACK TO GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE, HOW
Today, after the updates, I discover that the horrible search engine Yahoo has replaced Google. I have a link to the Google search engine, and I use it but REALLY? HOW, in simple English can I get rid of Yahoo and restore Google as my search engine? Thank you very much.
Hello, ellzeena!
From 34 of Firefox, you can use one of these methods to change you default search engine:
Note: The following may not apply to localized versions of Firefox.
- Click the menu button
Select the Options under Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux, and the parameters of Search Panel.
- Click on the magnifying glass icon in the search bar, then click on change settings for search, as shown here:
In the search settings panel that opens, select a different search provider menu drop-down (see the screenshot).
For more information, see the article use the Firefox search bar.

Something still change my Yahoo instead of Google search engine.
I noticed tonight that my search engine Yahoo instead of Google. I changed to Google and ended the browser and then open it again and he had rekindled me to Yahoo again. I also noted a toolbar a day or 2 ago that showed Yahoo. I think it was called Obit. I turn it off. I went to manage addons, etc.. I noticed this Obit thing and completely removed and restarted my computer. The Yahoo search engine is back. How can I get rid of it forever?
Thank you
Maurice: CowdenHi cowdenff,
You should take a look at article in the Knowledge Base using the search in Firefox bar. I also want to make sure that you completely remove this addon Obit and the Yahoo! tool bar if it is installed as well.
If this does not work, you should look at article unsaved Preferences.
Hope this helps!

How to get rid of Yahoo/tap as a search in Firefox.
Try to get Google UK as my homepage and search, but Yahoo/Spigot / engine in Firefox settings...
https://UK.search.Yahoo.com/?type=926458 & fr = Spigot-YHP-IE
No toolbar Spigot to remove.
No reference to sitting in the Control Panel - programs and features.
Yahoo/Spigot is by default in Internet Options - tabs of the Home Page. Enter in Google and economy, makes no difference. Yahoo/Spigot overrides again whenever I try to change.

On the address bar, when I write something, I would get Yahoo instead of Google search results. I don't know how to change it because the Options under the Tools tab do not seem anything which changes the search engine for the address bar.
There is a hidden preference that you can edit to make it use Browse of Google search of name that has been used in Firefox 3.6
- Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Locate the preference keyword. URL, double-click it and change its value on the link below
http://www.Google.com/search?ie=UTF-8 & oe = UTF - 8 & SourceId = navclient & gfns = 1 & q =
If after changing the preference it is still using Yahoo, there will be an add-on that is the cause. Check for modules of Yahoo and if not necessary to uninstall them. If you have the add-on of net assistant freeze.com , which can cause research go to Yahoo, uninstall this add-on - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

All my research are back in the search engine Yahoo finder without danger.
All my research are back in the search engine Yahoo finder without danger. I ran the fixes suggested in other threads with the same problem, but I still get Yahoo search results. Google is my selected search engine.
I noticed that the problem happens when I type my research in space on the search page itself. This search page looks a bit like a page from Google, but there no links etc than Google does. Instead, he has "SearchTech" downstairs (with Contact, privacy and terms). If I type my research topic in the menu bar the results come back in Google.
I confirmed that my favorite search engine is Google. Previously I ran LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons and removed three files to those who had been loaded on my computer today. I checked the extensions are that there is not.
Hello
Your search engine has been redirected due to malware or the downloading.
You can use the free Malwarebytes utility to remove it.

New tab uses Yahoo as search engine - how to use Google?
I changed my default Google search engine; I use version 35. When I opened a new tab and type in the search I get results in a Yahoo Search page. How can I change this so that Google is the default search for the new tab search engine.
Thank you someone to help with this.
You probably have some adware or toolbar that has changed the page used for a newtab.
- Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search
- The addon of reset of search is useful to fix this https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
The addon installs, modifies settings and to uninstall. But you may need to remove the adware or which could change the settings again.
BUT Note If you are using Firefox (American) addon resets to Yahoo as en-US search engine and you will need to manually select the Google later.Whatever the selected search engine to be used for the search toolbar must be used in other research including the address bar Firefox and the new tab.
(Edit some typos)
- Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search

Problem seen in Google search engine.
I used Google for years without problems - I work from home as a freelance journalist. But this last few days, if I search for something on Google from IE and click on a result, I can get the page I want upward. But then, if I want to go back to the same Google search page to check the other results, I can't go back by clicking on the button 'back' at the top left, as I always did. If I click it, it just keeps returning me to the page I'm already. I find no mention anywhere using this problem or any means to remedy. If I have the cursor hover over the arrow bak, the address of the current page appears rather than the original Google search page, so there is obviously something wrong.
Thank you
Hello
1. This only happens with Google?
2. don't you make recent changes?
I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:
Method 1:
Try to run Internet explorer mode without modules and check to see if the same problem happens:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Internet-Explorer-Add-ons-frequently-asked-questions
Method 2:
Try to optimize Internet explorer and check to see if it helps:
It will be useful.
