I forgot the exact message, but it's like 'cannot be upgraded pc, abandoned process, will now restore the Vista installation. After this x 4-5 in the last seven days, I'm sick of what's going on. I've been building & PC repair & installation, configuration, and upgrade Windows since Windows 3.1 and Dos operating system. The Win 7 installation routine is so demanding that if all the program requirements are not met (for the latter)-it just stops and is abandoned. I've never had this kind of trouble before. NEVER Yes, I use the on-line support docs & Software Advisor compatibility. I've never seen an OS that just works! Absolutely amazing!  I also tried this on my computer Lenovo laptop lastnight - same thing!

Also, I would recommend unisntalling any antivirus that you have currently and to help clean up the provided utilities if any, of the antivirus manufacturer. In addition, unplug all unnecessary devices such as printer, network cable or any other devices you have.

  There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

  You can contact the manufacturer of your computer, eMachines and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  It's not really a taken way in charge to remove only the cancelled or failed updates. These are taken from windows logs and displayed in the history. Steps that Jose post is a way to remove all files in history and will remove all updates as well as a failed/cancelled updates successfully.
