Code 80073712 to update security for Windows 8 (KB3019215)
Hello
This updates will not install. I used all the shooters of usual problems and every time they say it's fixed the update still not settle. I also used a sfc/scannow, which found nothing wrong. I also used the health restore DISM and it cannot solve the problem. I have used both before to repair windows update I got problems and they all worked before. Y at - it something that I missed.
I used only the Microsoft Security / anti-virus software for XP, Vista, and now Windows 8.
Neither Windows XP nor Vista came with an antivirus application installed by default.
You may have chosen to install the anti-malware Defender Windows application when you use Windows XP and you may have continued to rely on the anti-malware application when you use Vista, but no instance was an antivirus application.
Windows Defender in Win8, however, is an antivirus application, but also an anti-malware application.
The fact that the updated Win8.1 and KB3019215 Kernel Mode driver do not settle very strongly suggests that a Norton or McAfee trial free fact come preinstalled on the computer Windows XP and/or (b) you see the effects of a current malware infection.
I'd say that your best bet now would be to do a Reset ("all delete and reinstall Windows"). See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
FYI, support for Win8 (IE10) ends January 12, 2016. After that, the computer will not be offered more updates unless & until Win8.1 has been installed.
Good luck!
PS: You will not be able to install Win8 on the Mac using a Win8 upgrade disc.

Hello Tallydupp, welcome.
Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
Try to uninstall it if it exists.Let us know what happens

I try to install the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB972581), but if failed and I get the error code Code 57A
I have install the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2I bet that if you check the size of the file that has been downloaded it will be probably very small, indicating that it was not downloaded correctly.
I don't think you have another computer at hand, or a friend with a USB key which may be able to download and copy it for you? Maybe burn it to a CD or something.
I could download it and save it to my desktop so I am confident that it is not a problem with the link itself or the file is available for download with success.
I know this isn't a very good suggestion, but the only other option would be to challenge support and see if a technician can take control of your machine and see if they can solve the problem of internet explore.

«Error message when you try to install updates on the Microsoft Update or Windows Update Web site: "0 x 80073712" "»
Method 1: Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool
- Download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.
For more information about how to download and run the Checksur.exe tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
947821 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/) Description of the update readiness tool for Windows Vista system - Try to install updates again.
Note After running the tool, the Checksur.log file is stored in the following location:
%SystemRoot%\Logs\CBSIn a default installation of Windows Vista, is the Windows directory.
If this method does not resolve the problem, go to method 2.
Method 2: Install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 if you have not yet installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), visit the Microsoft Download Center and then download and install Service Pack 1. To do this, follow these steps:
- Quit all programs, and then click on the following link:http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=f559842a-9c9b-4579-b64a-09146a0ba746&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=f559842a-9c9b-4579-b64a-09146a0ba746&DisplayLang=en)
Note Click the option to download on the download page, click Save, and then save the download to your desktop. When the download process is complete, click run to install the SP1.
- Restart the computer.
- Try to download the updates again.
If you can't always install updates, go to method 3.
Method 3: Perform a repair of Windows Vista installation when you perform a repair installation, which restores the current installation of Windows Vista to the version on the installation DVD. This requires you to reinstall all updates that do not appear in this version of Windows Vista.
To perform a repair of Windows Vista installation, follow these steps:
- Restart the computer.
- Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.
Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, click on Start, type: \setup.exe in the Search box, and then click configuration in the list programs. Then, click install now.
- Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
- Insert the product key if you are prompted to do so.
- Click to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
- On the screen which type of installation you want , click upgrade.
- Once the installation is complete, restart the computer, and then try again to install updates.
