Get windows Vista to reinstall on my computer

Original title: Getting windows 7 to install in my computer

My laptop with windows vista crashed. He came with a cd to reintall the operating system and I did not know that I should make a cd image and system restore. The flagship product is clearly printed on the bottom of my computer. I tried to buy a cd of windows vista retail, but the only option available in internet is oem versions, which I have no idea how to install. The microsoft Web page does not show an option to buy older versions of windows. Given that my laptop is 5 years old, the new version of windows 8 will be not possible to install. What can I do to solve my problem? Is there a website where I can buy windows vista to reinstall in my pc? Thank you for any information you can give me to fix my computer.

Thank you for your information.  I'm not an experienced person in the facilities of computers, download so the procedure you describe to download windows from the internet links will not help me.  I don't have anyone who could borrow me a cd of windows.  So my only option is to find where I can buy a full commercial copy to do a clean install.  Amazon only offers oem versions and I don't know how to do the installation which is supposed to be done in a new computer.  Mine is old and already had a windows operating system that unfortunately crashed before that I made a backup of the system.

Sort of, I really appreciate your help. Best regards.

It is understandable that the download and make your own disks can become a daunting task.

There is no need to buy a new edition of the sales at retail.

There are still two other suggestions I gave you and the restore partition method:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

It is regrettable that none of your friends have this DVD but if you happen to meet a friend or co-worker who is one that you can borrow and use a DVD of Microsoft Vista, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html

And if you never rec'd a disc you ohave than re Partition Recovery - install,.

I have an OEM of Windows Vista version on a dying computer. Can I buy the upgrade for Windows 8 and install it on the new PC, I'm building? The upgrade, is published at the same time as I'm rebuilding my PC. I'm just looking to replace my OS. I need Vista.

    Hello

OEM license is tied to the first machine that is installed on the OEM license dies when this machine dies.

An OEM license is not transferable.

And you need a legal edition of Windows, enabled for upgrade.

There is no use, you buy a license upgrade of Windows 8 by itself as you have to upgrade anything of in the new computer, you build...

You can buy a license of Windows 8 when it comes out later this year.

  • Impossible to get Windows Vista Mail to work since the installation of FireFox

In recent weeks, been unable to access the Internet or use any messaging service using IE8. Internet Explorer opens not - except in safe mode with network. I spent several hours to solve this problem without success. Then as a last resort, I downloaded and installed Firefox and in normal mode the page Firefox came and I have full access to the Internet and Microsoft Hotmail - however I can't get Windows Vista Mail to work.

WMUtil is very easy to perform and can fix things.  Especially if you got rid of McAfee.  You may still need to remove your e-mail account and then add again, but it's also easy to do.

  • Cannot find my CD of Windows Vista to reinstall. Is it possible to reinstall online or get an another Windows CD?

the title contains my question.  I tried to install the updates, but I get the error code 80070940 which asks me to reinstall windows vista and run the update again.

There is no free download Vista discs - online or anywhere.  If you can borrow a CD of Installation Vista genuine of the same size of the bit of anyone, you can use it with your product key to make a repair system/upgrade (I'd try that before a new installation).  Otherwise, the manufacturer may be able to provide recovery disks to restore the system (although if you changed the OS since the purchase, I am not sure that they will have everything available with your operating system on them - but it's worth a try if all else fails).

Before using it, please repost your question in Forum Windows Update:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads where updates experts will be happy to help you.  Please post with the information requested here:what to post in the Windows Update forum.  It can be a much simpler solution to this problem and only update the experts, they will be able to help you find it.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I get Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - Bit?

I decided to install Windows 7 on my computer for the 30 day free trial, but am now regretting it. I don't have the money to buy the product officially, so I want to reinstall my windows vista. I have the drive, but when I try to install the computer says that this version of windows is not compatible with it. How can I get my Windows Vista to install?

Also, I currently have windows 7 Home premium. It is a 32-bit operating system and is running on Service Pack 1. The version of windows that I am wanting to return is Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I can't make the method for using the windows.old as my uncle decided to remove after installation of windows. I have 13, but even, I knew it was a bad idea. In any case, I would really help with this question.

Ranging from 32-bit to 64-bit is a single proposal for a NEW facility.

You can boot from the DVD and erase your old installation (wipe, from scratch, all not saved disappeared and everything must be installed manually - including drivers for hardware devices and software you have installed now) and install Windows Vista x 64.

    Hello

Formatting/reinstalling is overkill. A bit like buying a new car because you have a flat tire.

To reinstall, you can use either the volume of recovery or the recovery disc, both should work pretty much the same. In general, the product key is located on the system like a sticker (on laptops usually on the bottom). If you can't find yours, you should contact the provider or your network administrator (and in fact, if there is a working system, you should contact them before doing anything).

Before you do this right, you can try this: click Start and type CMD. Right click on the menu entry that appears and choose "Run as Administrator". Click on continue in the UAC prompt. From the command line, run:

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig/flushdns

    ipconfig / renew

Allow everyone to finish (return to the command line) before proceeding to the next. When you are finished, close the command prompt. See if that helps with your problems of connection.

  • Legaly how to get windows vista Installer?

So, I bought the laptop with a windows vista. On the side rear of the computer, is the license key. When I buy my computer, nobody gives me windows cd, then, how legaly get the installer of windows vista? I don't want to go to shop, pay a lot of money for the cd. Maybe I can somehow download it? (Sru for my bad English) Waiting for answer :)

There is no legal downloads of Vista installation discs.  Contact the people bought you from (or better, the manufacturer of the computer) and see if they'll sell you a copy at a reduced price and if not, at least get them to send you a set of recovery disc (for a small fee) in order to have a way to recover your system if it fails and needs to be reinstalled. Then ask if your computer has a recovery Partition, and if you can make your own disks Reccovery (and ask them exactly how to do this).  If you know someone with a genuine drive to Installation of Vista of the size of the bit, you can make a copy of their record (they are not marked as read) and then you will also only available for installation of not only but also for the recovery and repair options is not available on the recovery discs they provide or you can do.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A200 - 1 M 4: can I get Windows Vista separately?

    Hello

When I install the product recovery CD, it installs Windows Vista and many programs that I don't need.
I just want to install Windows Vista (even excluding pilots).
So, can I get the installer of Windows Vista (Home Premium) separately?

    Thank you

    Hello

There are no separately installation program. You are not alone with this opinion and no you don't have to use any installed stuff. I remove also all the stuff, I didn't need.

Install the OS by using the recovery CD and then download all the updates from Microsoft to ensure that everything is up to date and remove all the stuff that you don't need. Believe me I do the same.

Just for example - I have a satellite that comes with Windows XP Home edition and I did follow:
    1. installed OS using supplied recovery DVDs
2 installed all updates from Microsoft
    3 deleted applications, I didn't need
    4. install all the applications I need for work (office, Nero and so on)
    5 installed Norton Ghost
6 created my own recovery image

Now I can reinstall my OS and after 30 minutes, everything is there. In the case of some virus or any other strange question, I install new OS (on the C partition). All the data saved on the D partition are still there and can be used after installation of the image.

  • After downloading Windows Vista service pack 1, my computer screen had the blinking message "!" Oxc 0000034! 250/92313 (program_files_windows_calendar_4998559750

I restarted bit keep getting option start normally or run repair program. ATER prog of running repair, he says he could not solve the problem and only asked if I wanted to report it. Computer wont even start in safe mode. Damage in the registry? Anyway my computer software was loaded at the factory and I don't have a recovery with her disk. Is there anyway that I can enter the partision to reload Vista? Otherwise, someone ' one can suggest how to fix my startup boot up?

    Hi coopervane,

You can try a system restore by booting from the Windows Vista disc. Will need you the Windows Vista disc to do an offline system restore. You may need to contact the manufacturer of the computer or make arrangements for any Windows Vista disk that will help you start the computer and go to optins Startup Repair tool.

To use offline system restore, you must have a Windows Vista CD or DVD. In addition, your computer must be configured to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. In some cases, you may need to change the settings of the BIOS on the computer to configure the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. For more information on the configuration of the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive, see your computer documentation or contact the manufacturer of the computer. A recovery disk will not help, because it will erase all your data.

First of all, start the computer from the reader. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Insert the Windows Vista CD / DVD and restart the computer.

    2. When you receive the following message appears, press a key:

Press any key to start from the CD or DVD.

    3. set the following preferences, and then click Next:

    o language to install

    o time and currency formats

    o keyboard or input method

Then, use the offline System Restore to remove the service pack of Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click on repair your computer, select the operating system you want to repair if necessary and then click Next.

    2. click on System Restore, and then click Next.

    3. click about to restore that corresponds to the date of installation of the service pack. The Restore Point will be labeled either install: Windows Update or install: Windows Vista Service Pack .

4 confirm the disk hard that you want to restore, and then click Next.

    5. click Finishand then click Yes when you are prompted.

    6. when the system restore process is complete, click restart to restart the computer.

    7. when the computer restarts, click close to confirm that the system restore completed successfully.

I hope this information is useful.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.
