GEYED icons in Device Manager

In Device Manager, I have a long list (gray diamond icons some more dark grey with a black outline) under the title "-pilot no Plug and Play" if I right click on the paler gray icon then 'properties', I see generally the following "currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. "The gray darker with a black outline to do the same thing usually result in the following text"this device does not work correctly.

If you have any problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter. All or part of them should they be uninstalled? would be grateful for the help.

Normally, you don't see "Non-plug and play drivers" unless you have checked "Show devices" in the Device Manager View menu.  You should not modify any elements who say, "this device is functioning." On the contrary, uncheck the option 'Show hidden devices' in the view menu so that you won't be tempted to do something is causing a problem.

It is even rarer to see devices "absent."  You should only be able to see "missing" devices (that is, not connected to the computer) If you follow the directions here--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539?wa=wsignin1.0 these devices 'ghosts' were installed at a certain point, when they were connected to the computer.  If you uninstall one of these devices, the next time that you connect such a device, he settled again.  If you uninstall it, the unit will be ready for use the next time that it is connected without having to install again.

Most of the time, you should let only ghost devices.  Sometimes, however, a failed installation can cause a ghost entry that may cause conflicts of resources with other devices.  In this case, the ghost entry displays a warning icon and must be uninstalled.

    Hello

I thank you and wish you the same.

I see that your problem has been solved using the HP driver that you mentioned on Thursday, November 18 in your message and the Express.sys is a problem with Windows install.

I suggest to install the version of Windows install 4.5 on the system from the link below and then update the driver from the link that was attached to your question before and check.

    Step 1:

    Install windows install 4.5

    Windows install 4.5 Redistributable

  • The device icon and text missing in the imaging devices Manager

The device icon and text missing in the imaging devices Manager

    I'm running MS Vista Ultimate.

The imaging device icon and the wording are missing in Device Manager are missing. A device is listed in the box as installed missing icon.

The other devices in Device Manager normally appear and I can compare what is supposed to be there for another computer running the same version of windows.

However, the device will not work and will not reinstall.

When you try to reinstall the device an error indicates that Setup does not work and to contact the manufacturer of the device.

Yet once, however, this happens when I try to install any imaging device.

I'm unable to locate information about the imaging devices in the registry.

I think that some registry entries are missing.

It is not the missing peripheral individual. This is the section in Device Manager.

    The image error is logged:

"Windows didn't load setup." Contact your hardware vendor. »

This happens with any device inaging of anyone.

    Hi henrymullersr

What imaging device do you use?

We can try a few steps and check if it helps you.

Try to run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

If the result of the Troubleshoot utility is negative, then reinstall the device. And also be sure to uninstall the previous contents of the device driver by running utility windows install cleanup:

    Now follow the following steps:

    1. Save the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package on your computer

    2. right click on the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and run as administrator

    3. follow you prompt in the installation wizard. Once completed the installation, click on the Start button

    4. click on all programs. Click on Windows Install CleanUp Utility.

    5. click on the device driver (if on list) in the list of programs.

    6. click on Remove. Click OK

    7. click exit

Restart the computer for the changes to take effect

Then try to install the device driver and check the result: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Install-a-USB-device

After back and let us know if it helped to solve your problem.

  • DVD drive icon has disappeared from the Device Manager and my computer

DVD drive icon disappeared from the Device Manager and my computer. I m using window 7. How can I get it back.

    Ashwani Hello,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community.

There are various reasons why a CD or DVD drive may not be detected. I would like to ask all of the steps in the Microsoft Article describes a troubleshooting and check if they help to resolve the issue.

Your CD-ROM or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs

    Note:

Before editing a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy of the key or the subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location that you specify, for example, a folder on your hard drive or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to cancel, you can import the backup copy. For more information about backing up the registry, please see the link below.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Have what software you downloaded exactly?

In your case I would try reinstalling the Driver software of the camera. Remove the old version first and then install the latest version from the Toshiba site.

  • Satellite A500-17 x - wifi does not work - not found in Device Manager

    Hi people,

    I need help please.

My wireless adapter does not work.
It worked perfectly until I connected to a wired connection in a hotel I was staying in and since then I can not connect to my wireless router.

I tried restoring the tosystem several times to old dates, but it has not solved the problem. When I restart the computer laptop and go into devices and printers, I thought that the computer needs to be troubleshooted.

The program runs and try to install the driver for the Wlan but returns with errors. Namely, windows could not load the driver or can verify the digital signature.

There is also no icon in the network for lan wlan connections only. When I use the radar in connectivity doctor tells me that the WiFi network is disabled but I can't understand how to activate it.

When I start in safe mode and go to Device Manager I see the wireless network adapter, but when I try to install the driver I leave safe mode and restart. I did and then the WiFi network is displayed in the Device Manager but when I try to load the driver, I thought that the driver is updated and then the adapter disappears from the Device Manager.

I'm so frustrated at this point and I'm very close to a full erase and start over.

I also tried to reload and load the default configuration settings in the installation program, but didn't make any difference.

    My laptop is a Satellite A500-17 x with windows 7 64 bit.
The WiFi network is Realtek RTL8192E Wireless Lan 802.11 PCI - ENIC

    Hello

Go to BIOS (press F2) and set it to default settings.
Save the changes and restart the device.
Then try to reinstall the WLan driver again.

If that does not help, download the most recent and updated BIOS to BIOS first day.
Then, restart the device and try reinstalling the Wlan driver.

Last but not least you could test the WLan feature on laptop running with factory settings current (after using the Toshiba Recovery)

PS: in order to use the WiFi network you must use the FN + F8 key combination and must turn on the WLan (in front of the laptop) switch to position.

What model laptop do you have?

Try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.

    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

This utility can remove the filters for you:
