• Source of external trigger PCI-4472

  Dear all,

  I have a PCI-4472 b I want to program to acquire a signal channel 0 whenever it recives a TTL signal throw the input external trigger.

  I use a modified example but I don't know which is the name of the external trigger source. I always receive this type of error (for example if I connect to a string that contains "EXT_TRIG"):

  The error pops up because there is no channel named EXT TRIG. If you receive a trigger channel 0, I think that the best way is to specify the name of the channel in the "DAQmx Start Task.  There is a terminal where you can specify the name of the channel and use that name to a string for the trigger input. I think this should solve the problem.

  Also, looks like you have trigger 'start analog edge '. Since you want to get the TTL signal, why not try 'start digital dashboard' trigger?

• Device PCI-4472 non-existing MAX

  I have this situation that does not cause problems, but it is curious why it exists.  I work with a new HP laptop to work with Win 7 64 bit.  I installed the rest of 2010 development.  Looking a the Measurement & Automation Explorer it lists a PCI-4472 device that I know does not exist in the system.  Also, I can't remove it from MAX.

  Someone at - he seen this before?  How can I remove this non-existent device MAX?

  This issue has been seen before, if you run DAQmx version 9.1.0 by 9.2.1 you may need to install a hotfix that resolves the problem where some third-party devices such as keyboards and mice appear able & Automation Explorer.  A link that provides the documentation and the necessary patches for DAQmx is attached.

  I have a PCI-4472, Labview 2010 and 9.3 DAQmx capture card. The Commission accepts AC and DC coupling and I can put it in the Panel of Test NI Max successfully, but I can't find a function to set the channels to match on Labview.

  Hi Thomas,

  AC/DC coupling can be defined in a couple of ways in LabVIEW. One is to use the DAQ Assistant, in the DAQmx palette. The other is to use the channel node, always in the DAQmx palette and select input analog-> General-> setting-> coupling input Properties. Then by adding a constant, you can choose the right coupling for you.

• Acquisition of signals according to schedule low external digital input state

  I use DSA devices namely PCI-4472 and PCI-4474 for data acquisition. Our application requires that these councils should acquire data as long as input digital external is in DOWN state that is to say that the device should start acquiring on falling edge and stop on rising acquisition. Unfortunately, I could not find a method to do, which is independent of the number of samples sent to the called function. If I set up the device in this configuration, it starts after the first falling edge and stops on rising edge. But if no. samples to acquire (N = value passed to the called API function) is less then the total no.. samples which are to be acquired (between start and stop say N + X m), the function only returns me the N number of samples during a fall X samples.

  Similarly if no. samples between edges of slopes and trigger signal (Y for example) are less value (N) was passed to the API function called, the function return always N = Y + Z, even if we do not require z. samples.

  I tried to check this thing in MAX. Can someone help me get around this problem?

  Sorry about that. I realized while I was writing my response to your original question, you had already posted back. Preston is correct, I was trying to find a way that you could do a digital reading to control the level of the PFI 0 line, but the DSA maps do not have circuits to allow you to make digital reading. The only way you could check the line would be to use a digital I/o card.

• Surge of entry during the stop protection

  I use for my request for data acquisition OR card PCI-4474 & NOR-PCI-4472. The range of input voltage normal is +/-10V while the range is +/-42V input overvoltage protection. Now if the PCs with these devices is turned off, the range of surge of entry will stay same? In fact, in our application, there may be a chance that the input signal happens while these devices are turned off. Do I need to use a mechanism of protection in this case?

  It's confirmed!  It is verified by some of our R & D engineers that it is indeed, the surge protection for when the card is both on and off.  Take care!

  Research on web search engines I could understand that his unknown device specification is referred to as the 56 k Modem... Just one problem: this model of laptop has no modem...

• Satellite Pro A200: Recovery using a ghost network boot disk

  Hi all

  Need to ghost several satellite pro a200 machines using a ghost network boot disk. When I use disk ghost provided by the ghost boot Wizard and no boot on PC back I get the message 'No Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter Found!' Serious internal error! (hardware works fine under XP/Vista)

  I tried to boot from CD, Mem Stick and USB floppy with the drivers of toshiba and realtek without success, research on google seem to point to there needing to be a driver to interface with the cardbus / PCMCIA adapter - if it IS the case can anyone shed light on the fate of a pilot and how I could continue on this?

  I have the Sony VPCEA390x and Win 7 Premium. It is 64-bit based.

  I installed Norton Ghost SW to do backups and restorations and owe it to create/have a recovery CD. The recovery CD does not support 64-bit drivers.

  The pilot validation tool Ghost Recovery has identified as a problem Ricoh PCIe Memory Stick host controller driver.

  How can I get this driver in 32 bit?

  I need to add this driver 32-bit on a recovery CD, I won't be able to recover my laptop.

  Note: Recovery refers to the reconstruction of disk image.

  Hello and welcome to the forums.
  Series VPC - EA3 books are x 64-bit systems only. Unfortunately, there is no support or drivers for x 32.

• Voltage corresponds not counter in the terminals on SCB68 with PCI-6254

  Setup: I have a PCI-6254 measuring 10 channels, differential all connect. 0-4 and 16-19, with SCB-68 2s and armoured and other cables.  Entered 0-4 have pressure sensors that turn off 0-10 V air-conditioned and equipped with the same commune.  The seams of the configuration to work, but I have a strange phenomenon.  When I put 30 lb/PO2 three input I get 6.149 VDC measured with a meter on the SCB-68 and something very close when I watch the raw tension out of Labviw (BTW, 2010).  If I provide 30 lb/po2 at the two entrance he see the voltage according to LV to 6.04 VDC on channel 3.  Tension with the meter is always 6.149 VDC on channel 3.  LV then reflects the pressure went down on this station, but I checked with an external meter does not have.

  I have two things I'm curious about:

  1: why the channels interfere with each other?

  2: why not make the same tension when measured with a multimeter?

  Could there be noise in my cable OR between the CBS and the card?

  It seems that what you see is due to ghosting.  Here's a great knowledge base article which addresses this phenomenon and how to avoid it.

• problems syncing multifunction with PCI-6229

  Hi, I use PCI-6229 and LabVIEW 8.0 for synchronized of the thermocouples and voltage measurements. The diagram is attached here. Here are my questions:

  (1) with the analog inputs of TC is ranked very first and followed with inputs analog voltage, as shown in the diagram, it works fine. But once the tension AIs are placed first and followed with AIs for thermocouples, thermocouple reading makes no sense, for example telling 25 deg C, the program shows strong fluctuating temperature 10-80 deg C.

  (2) the delay time using DAQmx Trigger, here I put the Start.Delay = 2, Start.DelayUnits = ticks. And sampling rate = 1000 Hz for sample clock VI. Then, is equal to 2 X (1/1000 second) delay time = 2ms? If no deadline is set, which is the time between the trigger signal and actural reading? Will it be the time device resolution 50 ns?

  Hi Matt11,

  (1) the order that you specify strings in your task will affect the order of scanning.  In other words, when you add the channels voltage before channels of temperature, the material can enjoy the tension or s channels followed by the string (s) temperature.  Since the 6229 is multiplexed, it comes to each channel sequentially switching in a single ADC.  In your case, it seems that the tension on the ADC to measure voltage not had time to resolve completely prior to taking the measure of temperature.  We refer to this sometimes as ghosts in extreme cases where the value measured on channel b mimics the tension on the channel.

  I think that you have found that you can get this by adding the TC task first.  You could probably also get the same result by allowing more break-in between channels on your scan list.  You can set the time between the channels with a Timing DAQmx property node (you can set the property is the clock frequency convert, which is the opposite of a waiting time).  For slow sampling rates, sets DAQmx convert a default clock rate up to a minimum of 1/14 US (on the x 622).  If your overall sample rate is less than 1/14 us (about 71 kHz) then you should have room to lower the clock rate to convert more of this if you wish to allow more time to settle between the channels.

  I'm a little surprised that you see errors because of it (generally, the problem comes from a signal source of high imepdance measure or when sampling at higher rates), but then again, the temperature measurement would be very sensitive to small voltage fluctuations since you deal with thermocouple voltages at room temperature.  Given the order of scanning affects your measure the problem is almost certainly introduced leaving not enough time for the ADC to settle after reading your string tension.

  (2) ticks means actually timebase tick rather than the graduations to sample.  The minimum is always 2, but this match 2 graduations of 20 MHz (100 ns) time base from which the sample clock (unless you choose otherwise or specify a sampling rate less than 20 MHz / 2 ^ 32), instead of 2 graduations of the 1 kHz sample clock (2 ms).  In fact the trigger is probably performed asynchronously at the base of your time, if you are anywhere between the graduations of 1-2 the basis of delay time (50-100 ns) according to the relative phase of the trigger to the time base.  If no time limit is set, the default value according to me is still 2 ticks which is the minimum that allows hardware (you can check on your own by reading the property node if you wish).

  These points should be compatible between different driver versions, with the exception that DAQmx chose by default convert rate differently in earlier versions of 7.4.  Select the conversion rate is a compromise between the settling of deadlines and the channels are sampled how "simultaneously" on the MULTIPLEXED Board.  The final result in point 7.4 of DAQmx was a compromise apparently arbitrary add 10 US for the minimum conversion period and use this as the maximum by default between the channels.  The user can of course always set the clock to convert to all what best fits their application (in your case, you might want to allow a settlement more between each channel).

• 2 very simple questions about 6225 PCI card

  I use for the first time a card PCI of 6225 (80 all entries). This card is linked to two junctions of SCB-68 block and my goal is to use it to acquire 40 Equations signals. Using the wizard DAQ, I came to these conclusions:

  1) the first 8 of my 40 Equations entries go out first to a block?

  (2) the block junction n ° 1 for each differential signal, I need to put a bias resistor 10 kohm between each AIGrnd and the V (-) signal. That's what I did with the other cards X 622. To do this with block n ° 2 too, I have that pin n ° 22, 9 and free to use all of my 32 43 signal. Is this correct?

  I know that these are 2 very basic questions, but if someone could just answer for confirmation, it would be great.

  I currently have XP SP3 ghost windows HP RP5700 image and I transferred it to the new machine RP5800.

  All devices in Device Manager are now installed except one!

  The compressor is still weird... I'm compression 4 k stuff on dvd and it looks great so far, but only a little problem there is much movement in my film, it of a dance show and no matter what I do, there are Ghost trails on final dvd images other than those that looks very useful! I tried almost everything and so far nothing works... I did a lot of tests and he burned them to test on a DVD TV funny, it's 10 minutes of film with a lot of movement looks great after having been compressed on dvd... but the whole project 1 hour using the same setting a lot of ghosting trails my images is 24 fps or 23.976 something like that... Yes I tried to change the fps too... also tried the game ibbp and ibp

• I have emails ghosts

  AS you can see from the photos below, I have emails ghosts in one of my email accounts that started when I updated to 9.3.5. I would go to the email and it showed 1 unread email, but there was no e-mail. Now it is showing 3 unread emails and there is no emails. I tried everything to get rid of it but it does not work. Can someone give an overview of what's going on? I registered on my account where my email is and there is no email. I deleted junk and trash and erased all uo, but it doesn't do a thing at the level of the mail app on my iPad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is showing 3 unread, but as you can see, there is nothing there.

  

  You could try to remove and re-add the e-mail account. Force quit the Mail app that could also help.
