Google Earth crashes Firefox 10.0.2

I see Firefox hang when using Google Maps. More precisely when switching to the option of Google Earth in Google Maps. The problem is more likely to occur when the statement to view the horizon but can also crash when moving everything.

I didn't used to have this problem on older versions of Firefox (3.x) and currently, the problem does not occur on Google Chrome or IE9.

I think it may have something to do with OpenGL since it is using 3D rendering. I use Windows 7 with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 and have updated the drivers to see if that fixes it, but to no avail.

Google might be pulling a Microsoft and making it so the application does not work well? Not my real question, just thinking out loud.

Question, is anyone else seeing this problem?

Details:
Windows 7
Firefox 10.0.2
8 GB RAM
Dual screen (occurs on a monitor)
Latest drivers GeForce 8800

Problem varies from just a block with the eternal blue circle or Firefox on some occasions just closes during navigation.

To reproduce simply go to http://maps.google.com and then switch to Earth. Zoom in as close as possible to the relief and turn around to see the horizon. Then move until the crash occurs.

Thank you
Valerie

The problem persists if start you Firefox in Mode safe?

  • Google Earth crashes the driver Intel graphics accelerator on Lenovo Tablet K3011W

Hi, I bought a Lenovo K3011W Tablet to be able to check the Google Earth maps on the road. Everything works fine, only Google Earth crashes the Intel graphics accelerator driver. It's obviously a serious driver problem!

I tried different versions of Google Earth, but without success (version 7.1 last 5). Have the most recent graphics driver installed and the Win8 preinstalled. Who can help to solve this problem?

I found the solution without any help from people here... Thanks at least for reading!

The versions of Google Earth 7 and 6 DO NOT WORK on Ideapad K3011W - they CRASH the driver Intel graphics accelerator!

Version 5.2, which can easily be downloaded from the Filehippo site is the version of Google Earth work. As far as I can see, this version works perfectly and I am happy with this solution, do not need the features 3D anyway. I want to check Google Earth maps in the field. So this could be the solution for others who have experienced this quite annoying problem.

  • Plugin Google Earth is not recognized by Firefox (works in Safari and Chrome)

For some reason any Google Earth has stopped working in Firefox, and I get a note that I have to download the plug-in. (It works fine in Chrome and Safari).

I followed the 'solution' in the forum without success.

When I search "Google Earth Browser plugin" in the Finder, I find SEVEN matching this search under 'Type' in Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plugins... .but this 'genre' is associated with the plugins that are "Named" something else - for example, Adobe, DivX, Flash, Flip4Mac, etc. (weird).

  • Firefox doesn't recognize Google earth plugin

I use Firefox on a mac os x 10.6.8 14.0.1. I was on Google Maps and tried to use Google Earth, but he said I had to download the plug-in. I did it and it appears in the Internet Plug-ins folder, but does not appear in the add-on Manager page. I restarted FF and computer and also deleted the plugin and redownloaded it, but still when I go to Google Maps, it says that I still need to download. She works in Chrome and Safari. What I am doing wrong?

Try to reset the database of plugins in the profile folder and check again.

  • Google earth does not load

A recent update to google earth means now that it does not load on my Apple Mac (OS El Capitan version 10.11.6). Ideas for something simple as this seems to be a big problem to read the support section.

I tried to go back to older versions of the Earth, which worked well, but cannot get them to load up to now either.

Think its something to do with the option to connect to the Earth, but it crashes before I even get to do and creates a massive error report.

    Thank you very much

Not sure what you mean by 'recent '. Just looked at today and it is the same version from 20/05/2015. Works for me on OSX 10.11.6.

  • YouTube crashes Firefox instantly - and I mean instantly, hardware failure

Under Firefox 3.6.3 openSUSE Linux 11.0. Have re-installed twice, including completely deleting the .mozilla profile. No effect. By clicking on the Google youtube address will IMMEDIATELY crash Firefox completely. I have blocked all cookies from Youtube due to a problem with the message "an error has occurred" in the opera and also blocked in Firefox. I also tried "Private browsing" without effect - even accidents. I am very upset by this situation. Also, when I access the Gmail interface full (instead of the interface embedded in iGoogle), Firefox ALSO crashes instantly. Here are the two main Web pages, I have NEED of Firefox to work! This is completely unacceptable and I see Googling that MANY people have this problem. There should be an IMMEDIATE DIFFICULTY.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

    is upgrade 3.6.3

In fact, I solved the problem by installing the 3.6.4 beta which, with the Adobe Flash 10.1 r32 pre-release of Flash, works to stop accidents. YouTube plays do not apparently necessary issue is blocking cookies from YouTube, for some weird reason - apparently there is a known issue with YouTube frequently refusing to play videos because some wierdness of cookie.

Only problem I have now is Firefox 3.6.4 open TweetDeck links from the cache rather than go directly to the page, but that's another question.

  • Google Earth with problems of VPP [anyone with contacts at Google?]

Hello I am working has one of the schools of Ljungmyrsskolan and Täby Friskola started using iPads a couple of months and we have deployed Google Earth via VPP and he deploys a version of 2008 then and sometimes, it crashes when loading and I was wondering if you or anyone that Google could talk to Apple to get the version updated to the version from 2013 to see if that works best for us, or a more recent version as I saw in some comments that have worked so bad air iPad would be great if you could contact me on droidbittin (a) gmail and help work on this thanks

As a test, have you tried to download the application manually?  Here is what is in the American version.  You can have a different version in your app store.

Here are my thoughts.  Each country has its own app store.  Which version is in your app store?  Is Google to update the version of Google Earth in your app store.  Have you tried the web version of google earth in your web browser?

  • Windows 8.1 & Google Earth does not

I just upgraded my Dell Inspiron One 2330 (touch screen with AMD HD7650A) of Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows.  I also downloaded from Dell Download Center and installed new drivers for Windows 8.1.  However, for some reason, Google Earth (7.1) crashes whenever I try to open it.  A message appears and says that DirectX does not, while he leaves the program.  I checked everything, including Directx and found no flaws on software or hardware.  It seems that Google Earth has problems with the screen resolution?  Should I reload Directx?  Can someone give me a hand?   Thanks in advance!

    Max

After installation and test different versions of AMD/Dell video drivers and the Goodle Earth, the problem was finally.  It's a problem of compatibility of Windows DirectX 8.1 with Google Earth.  In the last test, I started 8.1 Windows through "Safe Mode" and then on the GE (Version 7.1).  The GE started nicely and also acknowledged the HD display that never happened with Windows before 8.  I was able to change the "Graphics Mode" in "Views" of "DirectX" to "OpenGL" and restarted Windows 8.1 normally.  The GE has worked well since.

  • Google Earth opens after upgrading to Mac OS Sierra

Since the download and installation of maOS Sierra I find Google Earth does not work?

    see the following topics

    https://productforums.Google.com/Forum/#! rBa2c_LjgMI/cards/subject

If the software is still not compatible, you must communicate with development of google and see if they plan to release a new version. Or if you have a Time Machine backup, you can restore your system to a point where the operating system and this app worked together. Past that Apple has no googles software and does not patch their OS to accommodate other developers especially when OS X 10.12 was available to google for months to make these changes.
