Got erro 'We couldn't create a new partition.' installation Win 8 via bootcamp

I was installing Windows 8 pro via bootcamp on an iMac with the new installation of recovery.

It's my fusion drive before installing windows:

However, I got the following error during the installation of Windows 8 pro via Bootcamp, even though I formatted disk 0 Partition 5 Bootcamp:

We could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup logs files.

So I have to quit Setup and go back to Mac OS X and delete the Windows via Bootcamp partition:

Can I ask you why windows cannot be installed on this partition formatted? and how to fix this?

(I just picked up the iMac to a disk fusion problem before installing recently: El Captian is not installed on the part SSD disk fusion after recovery of the internet)

It's frustrating because I installed Windows 8 successfully via Bootcamp when I received the new iMac earlier.

Advice and emergency aid are necessary!

Thank you!

When you say that you have formatted your Windows partition, you format you through installation of Windows (2nd screenshot)? To this screen that displays all partitions, you have chosen the one you want to install to and then click on Format for the Windows install process can format NTFS?

  • Setup could not create a new partition system

Ok.  I just built a new rig.  ASUS P55 intel chipset mobo.  I have two WD Caviar Black hard drives and a RAID-1 array.

I installed my OEM WIN-7-64 operating system several times.  Mostly because my WUSB54GC Linksys adapter wireless crashes my OS WIN because of a compatibility problem.

Long story short: the last time my OS crashed he would not be stopped, kept grinding and grinding so I stopped it "hard."  Then when I tried to restart it kept a black window stall without launching.  So I decided to start over with a clean install.

    Big mistake!

When I got to the place where you want to install? I had onlyl only one possibility, I created a RAID-1 array with 1 TB WD caviar drives two of the screen.  Then, I started to FORMAT it the disc for the drive I want to install WIN 7-64 on.  That was the big mistake.  Previously, I was able to install WIN 7 several times, but after formatting the HARD drive, I received the message "Setup could not create a new partition system.  I can't find the logs and I tried all of the suggestions that I have found here and does not.

I have an ASUS P55-Deluxe mobo with two 1 to WD Caviar black HDs in a matrix RAID-1.

I tried to reinstall WIN 7, with the HDD BIOS on IDE.  It worked once in what concerns the installation of the OS, but whenever I try to recreate the RAID array, I get the bloody message "Setup could not create a new partition system!

I tried using partition of drive on BACK in but nothing works.

Of course, here, someone has the same problem and has a solution.

    Help, please!

    Hi Steve,.

On another forum, I read to remove the battery from the motherboard and wait 10 minutes before turning.  Not only did it clears the CMOS memory, but "remains".  After that, I was able to partition my RAID-1 disk, format the partition, load my drivers and install WIN 7.

    Thanks for the quick response!

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

  • Bootcamp does not start after you have created the new partition

Hi, I accidentally created a new partition on my mac OSX 10.11 and then discovered that my bootcamp would not start. After that, I deleted the partition but the disk for the BOOTCAMP partition identifier was disk0s5 instead of disk0s4. is anyway to fix this?

The disc is now disk0s4, but when I try to boot in bootcamp, it says no bootable disc detected

  • Repair your startup disk Bootcamp disappearing after you create the new partition

. After some research, I found that it was the way forward to create a separate partition, and so I did another partition.

I didn't know it would affect my Windows partition that I thought it was completely different.

So now, when I start it up, there is no option to start with Windows. But when I boot the Mac and select Startup disk, it displays Boot Camp is still there, and all my files etc. are still there.

I tried to create one separate partition (other than Bootcamp). After that its done and I started my computer, I found that the option to boot Windows (Bootcamp startup disk) has disappeared. But I still see boot camp Mac files. Any solution for this? Thank you.

(I tried to find this solution on the discussion Forum, and I found: repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition, however, I'm not able to follow these instructions. any help would be appreciated)

  • Error: "could not create a new partition or locate a" when installing Windows via Boot Camp 10

This error occurs on my 2012 15-inch MacBook Pro. I have 2 hard drives. One dedicated to OSX and one for Windows. This is my first install bootcamp. I let bootcamp create partitions, but to the partition/disk screen hard to choose, I get a message saying: "we could not create a new partition or locate a.. The partition has been formatted to NTFS. I tried later in this guide community post here: error: "we could not create a new partition or locate and existing" install Windows via Bootcamp 8.1, but no luck. I even tried to delete the partitions and create a partition empty for windows so it can create and format on its own and start using EFI. At this point, windows begins to install it and restart, but it fails during the part material recording and restarts. Then when it starts again I get a message that the installation has failed.

Here's some output terminal which can help you to (I) hope.

You must disconnect the internal bus 500 GB SATA drive and use a flashdrive USB2 for OS X from startup. The 320 GB designated drive must be in the main Bay of the Mac. Once Windows is installed, reconnect your 500 GB drive in the Optibay (if you this road main Bay) will be Windows blue screen in most cases.

  • recovery system after creating a new partition

    Product number: A6Y43UAR #ABA

Name: HP Pavilion g6-1d38dx Notebook PC

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

My hard drive is shipped with a factory setting of 4 primary partitions. I would like to remove one of the partitions in order to create a new primary partition using this guide (jump to option I content):

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/other-notebook-PC-questions/how-to-REPARTITION-HDD-of-HP-notebook-with-...

My goal is to create a new partition D where I store all my data so that something happened to my operating system that is on the C drive (viruses, etc.), all my data will be safe in the drive D. I hope that running the system recovery HP (using the f11 key) will not remove the user created the D partition and the data in it , but that's where my confusion. The guide above says the following on this subject:

"Remember that if you decide to use the recovery discs or the F11 option to restore the PC to its original state, all partitions that have been created by you will be lost and will also lose all data that was stored on them."

However, another document which is the HP system recovery guide, says the following

Your computer can have three types of available system recovery, or he might have only two. Use the type of recovery in order to solve your problem without making further changes as necessary.

If you don't have 3 options in the recovery then Yes, System Recovery Manager will delete all partitions and restore the original configuration.

To better protect your files an external USB hdd is a good investment of backup. You can also use it to make a System Image of your hard drive that can be used to restore windows and all software/drivers if you need to reinstall. 1 > guide 2 > guide
