Hi Jnacimiento,

Is this new Integrated GPU, support in Premiere Pro? Thank you

So far, the GPU is not officially supported with Premiere Pro.

But you can always install or use Premiere Pro with these cards. (NOTE: it might give you some performance related issues)

These cards are still in the testing phase and once our team of engineers is done with all the tests, it will be updated on this document:

  • No connection directly into Premiere Pro 2015.3

Hi all use first pro for several years now and just upgraded to the latest 2015.3 update. Every thing seems to be good without any problems during the update until I had to do a color grading. To my surprise I found that there is no longer an option to send my first pro time line to rank speed with direct link. in fact it has no direct link option in the menu. to add that you can not open 2015,3 project files within the category of speed either. Is this just isolated to me or others with the same problems? If so have a fix is better than export my project working on color, then export again. I really like the integration of direct link and it's a pain with it.

Alternatively one has original first pro 2015.2 downloads so I can I downgrade again.

I tried installing creative cloud of first pro 2015 but it lacks a few features that I use every day such as optical flow under the menu speed

    any help welcome

    Thank you

    Hi ToolzVFX,

    You're not alone.

This isn't a problem; It's normal. Direct link is no longer available in Premiere Pro 2015.3. If you have any comments, please share it here: feedback form

  • GPU accelerated the development of AE/Premiere Pro plugin?

    Hi all

I am the developer of a prototype video processing algorithm that is currently an autonomous .NET executable.

I want to create a version compatible plugin After Effects or Premiere Pro of this algorithm.

    My questions:

    (1) should I use the SDK after effects, or the first Pro SDK to develop this plugin? A plugin After Effects run in Premiere Pro as well? Or, conversely, a Premiere Pro plugin does not work in After Effects?

    (2) can an After Effects or first Pro Plugin tap into the power of the GPU? I have to learn CUDA/OpenCL for this, or the Adobe SDK kit includes its own GPU functions?

    (3) what SDK makes it easy to create a plugin compatible multithreading, so that my plugin uses all cores of CPU on a computer?

    (4) is it possible to get a free version of After Effects/Premiere Pro Developer, or do I have to buy full price to develop plugins for them?

    Thanks for any help/answers!

    Hello!

I'll try to answer some of these questions to the best of my knowledge. Currently, I am also developing acceleration GPU AE plugins, so I had to deal with some of these issues in the past months me.

    (1) AE SDK allows you to develop plugins for AfterEffects (naturally), but these plugins are - with some restrictions - also usable in Premiere Pro. Please download and check the AE SDK for more information, but off the top of my head, I know that scripts JS and several suites of treatment are not supported in Premiere Pro and Premiere Pro uses a provision of different pixel as AE (BGRA vs RGBA for example). So, a plug-in AE can also work in Premiere Pro, if coded properly. What I did was checked in the plugin host, he was called and then by calling appropriate functions. See also the examples of AE SDK, for example the 'Portable' and the 'SDK_Noise' example for plugins that work everywhere in AE and PremierePro.
On a side note, the PremierePro SDK (AFAIK) only allows to develop native PremierePro plugins that cannot be used in AE.

    (2) of course, a plugin can use the GPU - in this sense there is not much difference between a plugin and a standalone application. There is however no GPU related example in the SDK, only a rudimentary and broken example for pipeline fixed simple integration of OpenGL (example of name "GLator"). But you can of course create your own OpenGL context (preferably a window/renderbuffer hidden) and interface the GPU as you wish. Don't forget the context between native AE and your own GL context switching.
So yes, it is possible, but you should do all the work yourself, the SDK provides just an empty frame and you must code your own functions to interface to it.

The way preferred by most is probably (as I said above) using OpenGL and then compile GLSL shaders to run on the GPU. The main obstacle is to put your image of video uploaded to the GPU, so you must read each pixel of the AE pixel buffer, convert it to an OpenGL texture, transfer it to the GPU, then let the GPU do its magic and collated the rendering engine OpenGL renderbuffer pixel by pixel for the AE output buffer. Yet once, focus on the example of GLator to get an idea how to do this (although there are a few somewhat more effective methods).

    (3) AE SDK should be very well already for multithreading. Most a plugin function/reminders are not thread-safe themselves in the SDK because they are distributed and called beyond the hearts of processor as needed by AE automatically. So when used correctly without blocking and callback functions of thread-safe for the treatment of the pixels, as is done in most of the examples of AE SDK, you should be fine at this level I think. If you need deeper control over threads, you have of course to do it manually, for example by a blocking to make call and start your own thread of this (not that good practices, but you should get the idea).

    (4) you must contact Adobe and ask them for a NFR/developer version, but I don't know if they offer it for everyone. In addition, there is a time-limited trial version that should work also with third-party plugins, I think, so perhaps it's an inexpensive way to test

    See you soon,.

  • Why K5200 Quadro card from Nvidia does not appear as a map taken in charge for after effects CC 2014? It is listed as supported for first Pro CC 2014.

I am putting together the specs for a Dell workstation that I use to make Adobe CC work, including video with After Effects and Premiere Pro. My computer expert worries that the card Quadro K5200 I want to have the system is listed as supported for Premiere Pro CC 2014, but that it is not listed as supported for after effects CC 2014. Are there problems of compatibility with this card and EI?

    Thank you!

    stevemctee wrote:

I enjoy the conversations of the sidebar and it's valuable information, but I'm really hoping to hear from Adobe on why this card is not listed, supported by the AE.

Oooh, I can answer this too!

Development and release of the CC, they do not work with the rendering engine raytraced we did at all (except in the align each version for compatibility reasons), so no more cards have been (or is going to be) tested and added to the white list.

It may be a bit before someone with the official logo of has is available in. This is a user forum. We are grateful that Adobe people push their heads in many (seriously, gets it the AE Forum is a lot of love by considering how tiny the AE team), but sometimes it can take a while so that they appear. (Especially if some of them are on holiday). That's why they have people like us; We cannot have has, but we have M, V and P

Speaking of the integration of C4D: when I recently visited the offices of the Adobe team, I must have a look at some of the new technology, they are working on future versions. I am very pleased of the future development of the AE. The lines between 3d and compositing are really starting to fade. Some of the things that currently lack us (expressions to control the animation of models C4D, for example) will be addressed.

Now, if you plan to do a lot of work in 3d which is most often the titles and that sort of thing, I think looking at the 3d or 3d Zaxwerks Invigorator element. Latest version of the item makes it extremely fast given it's beautiful, it can look. It's amazing, really. (And it uses the GPU!)

  • 6th generation Nano more often used to synchronize

Just got a used iPod Nano 6th generation, and I'm in trouble.

I have an iMac 27 inch, model late 2009, running El Capitan. I have the latest version of iTunes.

When I connect the iPod to the computer via most of the USB sites, it does not appear in the Finder as a mounted drive. However, it fact appear in system information under Bus USB 2.0-> Hub-> iPod. The system seems vaguely aware that there is a connected iPod, but doesn't let me do anything with it. The iPod itself says that it is connected, and it charges with success.

However, when I plug the iPod into either of the USB slots on my Apple wired keyboard, it fact appear in the Finder. Basically, on 6 slots USB (4 on iMac) and 2 on the keyboard, it will only reveal when it is connected to one of them.

Once I got it in the right port USB, iTunes has been able to recognize the iPod. However, it seems especially want to synchronize. Usually it hangs there for several minutes while trying to synchronize before you say it's impossible: "iTunes could not copy X to iPod Y because the file cannot be read or written.". At this point, there usually is no longer appears in iTunes (even if it is mounted in the Finder).

Sometimes successfully, it syncs, but 90% of the time that it just hangs up. I don't see a model when this happens. I wrote this, I was able to do accept a synchronization of two podcasts and a song, and then it stopped working again.

I tried to reset the iPod and be in and out of disk mode. I was unable to restore factory default via iTunes: nothing happens for awhile, then iTunes says that it cannot.

I tried to manually add files to the iPod by dragging on in the Finder. This usually causes Finder hang and then must be restarted. In some cases, I can't even restart Finder until I pull the cable the iPod, as the whole system crashes.

I used on the iPod disk utility, to fix all the errors (he found) and to clear its contents.

I wonder if this is related to the USB cable, but I guess my thought is that if the cable was defective, wouldn't I have not have done until now? It shows in the Finder, cool and sometimes allows to synchronize a file. But I could well be wrong. Before I go buy a new one, I thought I would check here to see if it could be something else.

Any help is appreciated. I have this during 4 hours, try different things, read troubleshooting guides, forum posts, etc.

Your Mac is old enough to have ports USB 2.0, so your 6th gen iPod nano should work well with it.  My Mac mini's 2011 (last iTunes and OS X running); It works very well with my old iPods; most of them are older than your iPod nano.  It should work on the direct USB ports on your iMac.  It is strange that it works a little better on the free USB port on your keyboard.  Normally, I would suggest using a direct USB port on Mac when troubleshooting.  And your USB cable is probably fine; I would bad cable try another cable or using your cable power with another Apple device (if possible).

First, you must use the procedure to Reset SMC (System Management).  It serves as a general hardware reset for the Mac.  For an Intel iMac, it's basically unplug the power cord from the iMac and reconnect it, at the end of a specific procedure

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support  (see Reset the SMC on Mac desktops)

You can also make the correct procedure to Reset NVRAN ("PRAM") ol ', just in case...

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

NOW, you can try some real tests to narrow down the cause of your problem.  These are separate test.

    (1) stop (power off) Mac and disconnect all the USB devices.  You can leave your connected USB keyboard/mouse.  Do this Reset (reboot) of your iPod

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support

Start the Mac, launch iTunes and connect the iPod to a USB direct on the Mac, by himself.  Is there a difference?  This is to exclude a conflict between connected USB devices.

    (2) the iMac in Safe Mode startup

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

In Safe Mode, the extensions of the system of third parties (such as device drivers) are not loaded when you start.  In addition, the third party background processes that launch automatically when the connection do not run.  This is to exclude a conflict with a third party software that may interfere with the iPod.  Your iPod should (normally) always connect with iTunes in Safe Mode.  Try things like the synchronization and restore in iTunes.

    (3) create a new 'Test user' account in the users and groups System Preferences pane.  I have a user account on my Mac named Test user.  This user account can be Standard (not administrator). Disconnect , then reconnect you user account.  Do not use Quick user change.  In the new user account, run iTunes and connect your iPod.  iTunes uses a new iTunes library.  Add a few songs to test the library.  Try things that don't work well in your usual user account.  This is to rule out a problem related to your usual user account or iTunes library.

    (4) you can do another test, if you have something like an external drive that can be erased.  Use the Setup program for El Capitan downloaded from the Mac App Store to install an external OS X "fresh" on the hard drive system, after erasing it in disk utility.  Startup test of external drive system.  Launch iTunes, plug in the iPod and try even.  This is to rule out a problem with your existing system of El Capitan, which can inherit problems that you apply updates over time.

In each case, if the iPod works normally for this test, you have reduced the cause.  You can then focus your troubleshooting to find the exact cause.  Please post back with new discoveries...

  • Alienware vs GPU GeForce 680 M GPU integrated m17r4

OK, I have problems with DCS A10C game. Given that the game feels heavy, my hunch was that game uses the graphics card Intel HD 4000 instead of GeForce 680 m is the steam forum entry where I first asked this question:

"This iGP is probably the problem (he actually integrated into the processor itself, not the mother, but never mind map)." The description of your problem is exactly with problems that are generally produce when running on the iGP.

We have seen many cases where, for some reason, machines with integrated graphics circuits eventually DCS running even when the value function on battery power. You can probably find a configuration somewhere in the nVidia configuration or similar Panel where you can force it to use the GPU 'real '.

The configuration of the battery most likely governs only windows itself (that is the circumstances where windows controls the screen, as when you browse the net etc.).

nVidia or the manufacturer of your computer (Dell) use of profiling that tells the computer when to use what. If they do not recognize the game (unfortunately, common for the simulators - unskilled salespeople in general don't do something more for something like niche like this), the computer never gets told to use 'real' GPU unless you do it for her.

On the profiler, you should then find the DCS.exe in the... \Bin\ folder of your domain controllers installation directory. "

Is there a way to make sure that the game uses the actual GPU and it integrated? If there is, how?

    My best regards

  • iPod Nano 6th generation of devices

I have an iPod Nano 6th generation. I would like to continue to use it to play music during the night while I SLEEP. I got an iHome unit, but who has just died. I have two conditions for a new device. The device must plug into a wall outlet and charge the iPod Nano.

Can someone suggest a new device?

There are two separate functions here.  Charging the iPod and speakers are active.  The iPod has two connectors for audio output and power, so do not force yourself to a single device.

Use a common USB adapter, (that plugs into the wall), as the type that comes with the iPhone or other device and standard USB cable to charge the battery of the iPod.  Connect common self-powered speakers, as the type that people use computers, making headphone iPod.  That is how I use my iPod touch on the bedside table.
