  If the graphic is U8, it means that data cannot be outside the range of 0-255 anyway, right?  U8 is only 0-255. Then why grow you to be larger than 0-255 range?

• Looking for location of the thermal sensors on r61i

  Hi all

  My r61i 7650 (EGG) - previous with win7 as now with ubuntu 10.04 - used to start the fan early and kept running most of the time when I was intense (for example virtulalizing win7 as a guest).

  In order to have less noise, I tried tp fan control and it works great, but I wonder what temperatures to choose to 'wake up' the fan. The problem is that I know the temperature which places and which hardware sensors measure. And, what is more, I don't know, for example how hot that my gpu or anyone is allowed to become.

  In tp, fan control are listed following sensors:

  Sensor 0 - I think it is the cpu (the hottest part)

  Sensor 1

  Sensor 4

  Sensor 6

  Sensor 8

  Sensor 9

  10 sensor

  Of course, I'm looking for sound values to do not risk damage, but I do not accept the fan from when the cpu is at 35 ° C warm... ;-)

  Do Lenovo release these figures of thermal tolerance. However, 53 degrees are in the temperature interval. I run my R61 at these temperatures a lot for a few months, when I left it on doing some computation intensive matlab of CPU on my laptop R61.

  Personally do not let the temperature exceeds 60 degrees for too long.

  Lenovo puts a lot of R & D in the thermal management thinkpads and tolerances.

• Pavilion g6-2213sa for the games?

  Hi, I just bought a laptop HP 'Pavilion g6-2213saHi. I wanted a general purpose shared around the House, but after reading a few reviews and see what I tlhought that was a good deal I went to Pavillion G6 she was supposed to be above average for the games.

  Actually, I only one game which was a present "FarCry3", so I assume that I would be able to load and play on the laptop. After installing the game I tried the FC3 "Map Editor", but it is 'very' slow and "lag" much like a desktop computer would not without a graphics card driver. I have not tried but I guess that online gambling would be substantially the same.

  If there is any who can educated me on the parameters for this machine I tried to change a few things with no improvement. If you think you can help please be specific, thanks.

  I have an Envy17-3002ea that was provided for me my intended to answer the questions on the forum. I own a licensed copy of far Cry3.   In ESXi 4, Windows 2008 SMV seem to want the E1000 NIC model by default when you create a new. However, after reading the KB on this (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1001805), is seems the 3 new VMXNET is supported for Windows 2008 (and Windows 2003 for that matter).

  So, what is the best to use? It seems the VMXNET it the best choice because it has all the latest bells and whistles - but sometimes it's a bad thing also. The KB does not really say what to use, but rather what options are available... unless I forgot.

  WARNING: I have worked directly on Vmxnet3, so I'm probably biased.

  I advise to use Vmxnet3.   Hi GerdW,

  I'm not sure of the exact way to do it, but I did a simple vi based on your idea. The vi to retrieve the color table I want in the table format, subject me to load the bitmap file that contains only the color scale. Some raster color table constants are included in the VI for those in need. Please see the attachments and give me your comment.

• Display drivers keep crashing, error says XP but the OS is Windows 7

  Hi all, I get a repeated error whenever I try to play a certain game (Maplestory) two common examples. Whenever the game becomes too intense, for example if I go into the market with a ton of people there or there are a lot of people fighting in the same plane, my game window freezes (generally with blocks of colors/gradients that take 1/3 of the window), the screen of the cell phone signal black and then recovers , with a small lower-right error notification.

  Error that says, "display driver stopped responding and recovered. Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows XP (R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered. »

  However, my laptop is running Windows 7 32 bit, with recent graphic drivers I have installed manually for Windows 7, certainly not Windows XP.

  Another note, I got to play Maplestory without similar error when I was with Vista 32 x.

  Since my first post, I looked around for solutions to this problem of others, and one of the solutions is to use an older driver, which I'm testing. So far, he seems to have stopped my problem.

  However, if the problem arises again, I will try your solution.

• Display random flicker watching videos.

  So whenever I look at Netflix or Youtube, the video will play very well, but 30 seconds after he plays, he flickers the video on the screen or decrease intensity for a second or two and then return to normal.   So far, no solution. But I use Firefox for Netflix playback and I don't have to deal with all the questions.

  I have a Mac Pro 3.1 early 2008 (2xQuad-Core-8 cores taken on 2 processors, L2 cache 12 MB per processor - 32 GB of memory). OS El Capitan 10.11.4

  I'll upgrade to the best of the ability of my budget to get best performance with Photoshop and Lightroom 2015 and related software. I am a bit out of the loop that I have not followed what is happening since 2010, just as as a spectator for the most... I searched extensively and intensively for several weeks and it seems that the more I learn, less I some what to do... I will list my plans interim and my doubts and questions and hope that some kind soul will offer advice, maybe share some information on where to go for further clarification or just tell me what to do! I have an ATI Radeon 5770 1 Slot PCIe (I have concerns everything) and a 120 GB OWC Mercury Accelsior E2 PCI Express high performance SSD with eSATA expansion Ports - these are not esata port multiplier. I'm not sure what to do with these, they are 6GBs ports. I was thinking about a work drive raid 0 to a port with a couple of SSDS too adequate or sufficient (not sure what size here). I'm owner also already ST2000DM001 of Seagate 2 disc HARD Barracuda 2 TB SATAII 6 GB-s technology 7200 RPM drive naked cover brand new in packaging.

  2. my berries are full of old records.  My system and applications are on a 500GB - I have a 1 to filled with photoshop psd for the most part - files (I just read that it is best to keep the TIFF files as non-compressed and I wonder if my psd files saved can hurt convert tiff files), a 1 TB partitioned into 800 MB for the current photoshop files and 200 for personal documents files I have the original 320 GB I was using as a small raid 0 dedicated to the photoshop file I had open and stops. the 120 GB in the Accelsior of mercury, can I use as a scratch disk. This screwy configuration is in response to my external LaCie recently dying (it's what I wa using machines - (this player been gave me, even though I know better than to buy whatever it is named lacie) I have everything backed up on bluray but I am aware of the precariousness of my set-up.) I have a bootable mavericks and a yosemite bootable on flash drives, but I'm very nervous about my situation as a whole.

  3. so I have a lot of options, not a lot of money and a lot of confusion about the best thing to do now... I need a sustained speed - once is not only fast open - more that I need disk space.

  I am considering:

             purchasing some enterprise hdd on sale (5 x 500GB to 1Tb HDD) and putting them in externally in a safe raid for Time Machine connected to a                firewire 800 port, or I could purchase 2 large 3GBs ssd's and put them in raid1 in my spare optical bay for time machine and then transfer offsite at                regular intervals for storage ( I would transfer the other Time Machine option offsite as well).
            that I will make a fusion with the 120GB and a new HDD for system and put it on the other external esata to take advantage of the 6 GBs.             i also need to buy a USB3.0 PCIe card for a couple of peripherals - with each port  powered. - so that also opens up some speed possibilities.

  I think that the size of your existing disks is actually one of your bottlenecks, so I kinda disagree with your idea that you need speed, more space. Adobe apps like chunks of free space for the use of work records and caches. Your installation seems also too complicated.

  Fast large capacity disks are pretty cheap these days. You can get a TB 6 for $200 Toshiba and put it in a good external enclosure. Also, you should be able to install a HDD 4 TB within a Mac Pro 2008, preferably WD Black or HGST. A good pen for a 4 biggest external to cost in the neighborhood of $75, OWC.

  I don't would not invest in a bunch of young readers, whether they are readers "business" or not.

  Inateck is a low-cost USB 3 map.

• iWorks ' 09 (Pages 4.0.5) on El Capitan?

  Hey people, I use ' 09 iWorks (Pages v4.0.5) on an iMac in early 2009 under Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Thinking of upgrading to El Capitan... no idea if I will have compatibility issues if I update OS?

  What worries me is that I use the Pages and Numbers intensively for work (a lot of design work) and can't afford to lose access to current to create new documents/capacity.

  If you have still this detail iWork ' 09 DVD, you will need to reinstall after the upgrade of the El Capitan and then apply Update Apple iWork 9.3 to Pages ' 09 v4.3 - a sine qua non for compatibility El Capitan. The update, you'll have to v2.3 Numbers and Keynote 5.3 too. Note that I put the emphasis on a retail DVD iWork ' 09.

  I have Pages ' 09 installed v4.3 here on El Capitan 10.11.4 and it works fine. There are a few problems with the hyphenation does not properly, it lack signs of fusion and mailing functionality and the menu share: mail is unusable.

  Apple will not warn us that a next version of OS X break iWork ' 09 applications. They have retired and don't give it any thought.

  Skip the installation of any Keynote v6 applications, current page v3 and v5 numbers because they are not based and complete rewrites on the original code of iWork ' 09.   I chose to install the 64-bit Vista Home Premium on the computer and the slopes of big thing until I HAV a work of high intensity for it as a game or to have several applications running at the same time:
  The screen goes black and the sound begins to "jerk" (repeat in a very short loop for awhile) before crashing to a Windows blue screen
  The blue screen said he "detected a unsolvable material error" and the technical Ref of the error message is "STOP 0 x 00000124 (0 x 0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA8008FE2030, 0x00000000B2000040, 0 x 00000000000800).
  Anyone else with the X 300 - 13w has this error or someone has an idea what to do.

  I think that goes to the GPU. It could be overheating.
  Download HWmonitor and run a game for 5 minutes with it running in the background and then go out and check what HWmonitor has recorded for the MAX GPU temperature.

  Some common reasons for this problem is a hardware conflict between the graphics cards NVidia and realtek audio, but this seems to be a problem with 32 bit Vista.
  The microsoft Web site claims that it is a problem of PCI-E hotswappable with Vista but with a laptop that is not possible to phyically unless the hotswap happen somehow between the GeForce 9800 M GTS and the 9400M G during the games?

  I don't think that that kind of money spending on an SSD is a profitable investment on machinery 8 years (or more). Although SSD drives became cheaper, they cost much more than a spinning drive. Instead, start saving for a more recent machine. In addition, to help the former processors, didn't have a single or two applications open at the same time, keep enough hard disk space empty for the OS to work effectively and install not the so-called 'clean' apps or software AV. The installed RAM is actually enough to run Snow leopard like which fortunately works on 2 GB - not so new versions of the OS where 4 GB is considered to be the absolute minimum and 8 or more are preferable.
