Graphics problems in World of Warcraft on Satellite P200-123

I bought a Satellite P200-123 to surf the net, play and for general use. I have read many reviews and chose the p200-123 because of his good grades. I play wow on a daily basis. World of Warcraft was an extension called burning crusade that came out a couple of years. When the expansion of BC the grx will all mess. Its as if there is a new effect of grx etc which does not agree with the toshiba range drivers. I get lots of polygons on the screen after being in the Burning Crusade expansion. I thought the grx was defective, so I exchanged it. Once again when I get the new laptop at home it happened again. It is a driver problem that it happens to the expansion of the BC. Ive tested it on other games and everything works fine. I want to know is we're going to have a bad selection of drviers or will they get updated.

http://I219.Photobucket.com/albums/cc215/maltonbranch/WoWScrnShot_033108_213654.jpg

To solve this problem, I have to change the resolution, then back to the setting I use. problems with polygons etc seems to leave for 5 minutes then the pips apear. I thought he could heat or a damaged GPU. But getting a laptop brand new just to do it again shows me his non-defective material and a driver problem.

Ive posted this on world of warcraft forums and aparantly its a problem with the ATI driver toshiba shut down. Bottom line, I want to know if the drivers will be updated and not just old ATI modded those of toshiba. I feel ripped off the coast. In all my years of owning PCs and laptops, I never felt so disappointed by a company in terms of software support.

Hello

I understand you completely, especially when you play with a few new engine that requires pilots who work quite at 100%.

Maybe you should check some 3rd third-party drivers.

This driver have been adjusted for mobile systems, so when you try these, your problem should go away and performance are expected to increase a little.

Welcome and good luck

    Hello

Laptop manufacturer is obliged to support the Broadcom DiagTool?
What Broadcom support on this issue? Have you contacted their support?

I mean they have to have the best experience with own products. It has probably been tested on different hardware platforms for mobile computing.

  • Satellite P200 - 123 No Post, but still the boots

    Hello

Have a strange, my old Satellite P200-123 worked extremely hot (70 inactive more than 100 of the load) 2 years so he disassembled and replaced the thermal grease, fans and cleaned. Standard maintenance went well, (apart from the microphone plug disintegrate at the start, but I use headphones so not really a problem).

First boot after the interview I noticed that the screen does not display anything until windows log in screen, no toshiba screen, no post messages, etc. At first, I thought it may have lack of an external port (VGA or HDMI) however I tried to connect to an external device and he still refuses to show anything until the windows log on screen.

I stripped and repaired hundreds of laptops (it's my job) but never encountered this in 15 years of maintenance and repairs PC and laptop. System running Windows 7 (not like it should make a difference) and the used thermal grease was the new Artic MX-3 and served on the GPU, the CPU and the Northbridge (and before someone says you must use the compound of unfounded pressure of toshiba ceramics, stuff I've used here are better for this the toshiba recommended stuff, believe me). The system works well (now idling at 39 and 65 at full load), I guess that's not much of a problem, unless I need to reinstall or restore my machine for some reason, all the world has an idea on how to fix this?

    Very interesting, Jaster! :)

  • HD - DVD will not play on Satellite P200-123 unable to output to external device

    Hello

Yesterday I bought a P200-123. One of the first things I tried after installation of Vista originally ran a HD-DVD. I know that the drive is fine as it works in my Xbox 360. Unfortunately, it has not worked with the software provided the HD-DVD player - the play icon will light up and then I get this error message:

"Impossible for the release of the video on an external device. Please change your display keys of the device by pressing the Fn + F5 after the end of the application. »

I don't have an external display connected to the laptop. I tried different discs but all gave me the same error. I then carried on the update of drivers and install a bunch of Windows updates. I tried several times the HD-DVD player in the countless updates and restarts but I still get the same error. Frustration, I bought PowerDVD Ultra. Who played the film for about a second before giving me an error:

"Failed to initialize the display secure session - (error Code = 0122).

The error dialog box goes on to say that the error can be caused by an incompatible graphics driver or even because I use a Setup dual monitor. The reference to two monitors is common to every player application so I wonder if the problem is in this area. I have not connected to a secondary screen but when I look at the standard windows display properties or the ATI Catalyst control center app dialog I see a disabled secondary monitor. I guess that's normal - there is no obvious way to remove the secondary display disabled.

Can anyone help me to work the HD-DVD playback?

    Thank you

    Ian

Have you tried updating the Toshiba HD DVD player?

You can find the update in the Qosmio G40 section check it and try to run the update. Notes; Don t delete the old version of the laptop!

  • Re: Satellite P200-123 volume control wheel

Is it a mechanical or software driven command?

If I turn the wheeel 'up' the volume sometimes breaks down? It doesn't seem to be a 'stop' on the wheel.

    All tips are welcome

    Thank you

    Hello

the volume control of the Satellite P200 is a software engine, so it has no physical stop like on older machines, which means that there are some disadvantages about the time to change the flight and the reaction control.
Don t ask me why they have implemented this software wheel-driven, but each new series of machines there and it s predictable that they will stay with this technique...

You work quietly with the steering wheel to avoid such phenomena as spin the wheel 'up', but the volume down.
I have the same on my Tecra S5 and it drives me crazy sometimes, but I have to live with it...

    Welcome them

  • Cannot retrieve the Satellite P200-123 - IMAGEX error message

    Hello

I HAVE A LAPTOP TOSHIBA P200-123 AND I AM DOING A RECOVERY, BUT FOR SOME REASON, IT IS ABOUT 19 TO 26% AND THEN RETURNS WITH AN ERROR SAYING THAT IT COULD
IS NOT APPLICABLE TO IMAGEX AND I'M AT A LOSE WHAT TO DO.

IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM.

    Hello Erin

It is not easy to say why this happens because this error message occurs for different issues.
One thing can be the reason for this.

If I well remember when you start the recovery option it must be key SETUP (next step after the confirmation of the language). Maybe you're trying to use installation option OS on the existing partition).
I tested it a long time ago, and I can confirm that this will not work. What is happening is very strange.
What is happening, it's a procedure facility trying to install the OS on partition WinRE (Vista). This partition is 1.5 GB only and after 20 or 30% facilities simply stops.
Maybe you try to do this. I do not know.

Try using the installation of recovery with the default settings. Don't change anything in the configuration option.
Test if you please and let me know exactly what is happening.

  • Satellite P200-123 - grx upgrade is possible?

Is it possible to update my grx HD 2600 card or any other part of the laptop? I know it is possible to put more memory in it, but I was hoping to upgrade the grx card in the near future.

    Thank you very much.

No, it s impossible given that almost everything is (except memory) is soldered on the motherboard of your machine. Which means that if you want more graphics performance you need to buy a machine with a more powerful graphics chip.

    That's all

  • Satellite P200-123 with several questions

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago and nothing else with her problems, namely:

Its very slow (Edition Vista Home premium). My old PC is an Athlon 1.4 and was much faster.

He doesn't "remember" Settings - IE cannot find the external keyboard or mouse (usb) opportunities

Sometimes it won't open requests at least that the system is rebooted - IE iTunes

    I had 5 BSOD

Event Viewer reads like a who's who of warnings or errors windows

It "hangs" regularly during the stop - more than 5 minutes? (I have to do it regularly to get applications to work) We know all how long it takes Vista to start and stop!

All updates have been applied both vista and toshiba

I have Kaspersky loaded - scans reveal nothing

    Ad-aware loaded - no spyware

Just "responsible for normal programs - Office of adobe lightroom/CS3, etc..

If I'm having these problems after 2 weeks, what it will be like in a few months?

Let me know your thoughts before Monday as it is the date limit for a refund.

Are there laptops out there that are without problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Sorry my friend but for me slow Vista is certainly no problems for me. It is well known that Vista needs far more resources than Windows XP Home edition and runs slowly.

I remember how it started out with slow running WXP. Right now the laptops were shipped with 128 MB of RAM. WXP was usable, but very slowly.
What you can do is to increase the RAM to the maximum level, remove applications pre-installed, you need and configure OS as you want it to be.

On Itunes I can not say much, but that on various forums technical, there are a lot of complaints in this regard and also those who have written on this subject have different notebooks.

I don't really know how you set up your laptop, but I use Vista too and to stop cell must not exceed 1.5 min.

One last thing: I use Vista almost 5 months for my work and the activities of every day like Internet, Skype, Web conferencing, but I never noticed any BSOD.

  • Satellite P200-123 2 GB SD card is not recognized

    Hello

When I put a 2 GB standard (* NOT * HCSD) SD card in the built-in player, it is not recognized, the sd card is not in the Device Manager, or anywhere.

I updated the driver "SD Utilities" and I also tried updating Vista with a fix, but it says I already have a later version installed.

However, the 1 GB SD cards work always in the drive?

Any help would be much appreciated :D

BTW, my OS is Vista 32 bit

The 2 GB card works in other PC?

Maybe its defective or needs formatting.

  • Satellite P70-A01C in World of Warcraft frame rate is LOW

Bought this laptop a few months as a game machine.

Said he would go to more recent games with little drama, but I have problems with World of Warcraft. Even with a quad core processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 4 GB graphics card I sometimes 9-12 fps.

This is usually when there is a lot of things, like during a raid, but, nevertheless, with these specs this computer must be able to manage. Normally I get around 80-90fps and I get similar on my desktop PC (quad core, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB graphics card).

Suggestions as to how I might solve this problem?
I always have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed and keep all the rest as well up-to-date.
I wonder if I missed something!

NVidia Optimus technology passes between the external graphics chip (nVidia) and including graphic internal to the CPU (Intel® HD Graphics 4600) in order to save power.

In my opinion the slow pace could be related to the graphics chip that is used by this game. Maybe the game uses the graphics card Intel HD instead of GPU nVidia?

    Concerning

    Hello

This could occur if the version of the game that you are trying to read is not compatible with Windows 7. You can try to play the game in Windows Vista compatibility mode and check if it works very well.

To run the troubleshooting program compatibility Troubleshooter

    1. open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under programs, click on run programs for previous versions of Windows. 2. follow the instructions in the troubleshooting. If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the Troubleshoot utility, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. This utility is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

  • Satellite P200-15N boot, numlock on

    Hello world
I have a Satellite P200 laptop for over 2 years, but since yesterday I did a clean install of Windows7 on the machine.
But when I start/restart the NUMLOCK is off, but it would be nice to have that 'on '.

I already searched this topic on the end of the Internet, but does not solve the problem.
-Boot, and when you log on to push the numlock on it and restart. Didn't work...
-Research in the BIOS, but could not find where to change. I think that's in it to change...
-Also find a registry entry to change.
    Regedit: + HKEY_USERS >. By DEFAULT > Control Panel > keyboard > InitialKeyboardIndicators +.
There you can right click and set the value to 2.
In many forums said, change the value from 0 to 2, but I have 10 numbers as the value. So I didn't do it...

Please, someone knows how to change?
    Thans in advance!

    Best regards
    Pieter

I tested it on my Satellite P200D and it did not work for me.
To be honest I don't see as so important because one key click you can turn on/off pad.
