Gray vertical lines on external monitor

I have a hp compaq nx6330 (ex856av) using windows xp. last may, the screen is black (I was told I need to replace the lcd screen), so I decided to use a generic external monitor. a few months ago, I had to repair and the repair guy said it will upgrade the operating system to windows 7. things worked fine for about a month then the screen (external monitor, the screen of the laptop is dead) begins to have lines vertical gey (the entire screen). I played with the resolution and I was able to get rid of the lines a couple of times. are the lines related to the use of windows7? This particular model supports any OS in addition to that (windows xp) it came with?

If a laptop screen and external monitor of office/display also shows the lines is a problem with the hardware with the laptop and the motherboard needs replacement. We cannot solve this problem, because it is not a software issue related and just to tell you it has nothing to do with the operating system

  • Portege M800 - horizontal lines on external monitor

I just bought a number of new M800 (model number - PPM81A-06L01J) and all have second screens connected.

On all secondary monitors, there are wavy horizontal lines. Secondary monitors are all of different sizes and different brand and model. They are all also on their native resolution and refresh rate. I also got the latest video drivers installed. Any body have an idea as to why this is and how to fix it?

    Hello!

I n t have a Portege M800, but on my Portege M700 I had some problems with the external monitor connected too.
    Here's the story about this:

I connected the new external monitor for Portege M700 directly with an old VGA cable. Usually it t wasn't a problem for me but I was not satisfied with the quality of the image on the external monitor (a bit blurry) so I started to update the display driver and the BIOS of my Portege M700 but without success.
Anyway, I tried a bit with Google and here in the forum and I decided to buy a new high-quality VGA cable. I exchanged the cable and what happens? Perfect image quality!

As you can see, you should always use high quality new cables. Also, make sure that you use the highest screen resolution of the external display (native screen resolution) and set the refresh rate of the screen at 60 Hz.

  • The gray vertical lines appear on the bottom screen shots

    Hello

Vertucal gray lines appear on the few photos that I took to be painted. They appear not in the Photos, but only when they are displayed as background pictures. It happens on every image but some a few, I can't work on any model! Any help would be appreciated!

    Photo for example is attached.

    See you soon

You see the same problem, if you export the photo (file > export > export original) and then set the photo as the desktop to a folder in the Finder and not directly from your photo library?

Preview shows also the photo with band objects?

If you can see objects only when display as an image of the desktop, try the same from another user account - sign in the guest user account and set the image of the Office here.

If the guest user account shows the same objects, restart your Mac in safe mode.  What is going on?

  • Tecra M3: black screen on startup, the vertical lines on the external monitor

    Hi all

I searched a lot on the Internet for a solution to this specific problem, I have, but did not find a thread
with exactly the same problem. I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 with Windows XP SP 3. Two weeks ago, I encountered problems with the commissioning. After a couple of times to restart it would work. Then it became worse... When I try to run I see no splash... the screen remains black. If I press the power button, I hear the fan and CD player but no screen. It is totally black. I know its working because I can go (blindly) in the installation program. Press end, and then press Y and enter. The computer will restart but still no screen.

I plugged it to an external monitor. Pressing Fn and F5 allows switching. The external monitor shows different
vertical lines in multiple colors. They change if I go to settings or you try to start windows.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems?

I have fear of solution can be given by the service only.
In my view, this question must be tested properly.

I can't say for sure, but to me that sounds like a technical question. Without testing you will know for sure what is the problem.
Here on the forum we can only speculate why this happen.

As you can see on notebooka? s LCD problem. On external it doesnâ? t properly work as well. It may be a faulty graphics card.
Try to contact the nearest authorized Toshiba service and speak with the technician.

To be 100% sure test with external monitor. If this line is displayed on LCD only you should contact the service in your country. If the display is faulty, it should be replaced.
    The warranty is still valid?

  • Satellite L500-126 - vertical lines on the Green/gray color dark

    Hello

I have a problem with my new toshiba satellite L500-126. With certain colors, like green, dark gray, I see vertical lines on the screen, only the part of the screen were the color is.

For example, on this screenshot I made. I see vertical lines inside the chatbox. There you can see the chattext. I looked at this picture with another monitor. But I don't see the vertical lines. Am I a bad screen? Or is this normal on this model?

    Hoping for an answer,

    > I looked at this picture with another monitor. But I don't see the vertical lines.
In my opinion, the case is clear: there is something wrong with the internal monitor to the laptop and it must be replaced.
    What do you think?

I mean that if it would be a software problem then you would have the same lines.

I guess that your laptop is still under warranty because the Satellite L500 is fairly new. Contact an authorized service provider and ask for help. Normally, you should get a new free exhibition. :)

  • HP 14 laptop: there are vertical lines that appear on my monitor HP 14-r024TX

When I opened my laptop, a vertical line has appeared in the centre and disappears in a short time like 5-10 minutes of using the device. The case is repeated for 2 weeks until week 3, there are more lines appeared and does not disappear. I went to my dealer and they said they will send the laptop to the company here in the Philippines. Should I back up my files first before sending it even if just the monitor will be replaced? How long he's going to be fixed? and my unit has a genuine copy of Windows 8?. Also, my unit did not fall to the ground to make. Please help! and I thank you in advance.

    Hello

    Thanks for coming back!

Ok. In this case backup all your data by copying and pasting on external hard drive and the HP Recovery Manager backup tool & expected repair with HP in your region.

You could also do an entire hard drive / image back to another external drive using the built in Windows 8 Control Panel tool and using third-party tools such as Macrium Reflect free. You will need Windows rescue CD to return after restore everything back to the laptop.

My phone has a gray spot and he goes but he always comes back and my phone is bulging commandeLorsque I try to push to vertical lines appear so I can't push

Is that an iPhone 5? If so, you may have a battery of swelling which pushes the screen and that may have caused damage to the screen.

  • HP 2159 m monitor - problem is 'running ants' vertical lines about 1 mm interval during the video display.

At the following problem troubleshooting steps:

    (1) monitor confirmed cable is properly attached to the monitor and CPU.

    (2) monitor reset to the default settings in the monitor menu.

    (3) installed the latest driver - HP 2159 m 2.0

    (4) installed the latest driver NVIDIA graphics - 285.62

Described as "mobile dash", as vertical lines appear to be 1 pixel wide, several pixels long, black, separated by spaces of many pixels and move vertically (up/down) direction.  Lines are separated by 1 or 2 mm.  On rare occasions, the lines are horizontal rather than vertical.

I see this effect during video playback.  Mobile dots are more pronounced with mid - grey tones.

Rarely see a few stray clusters of white pixels on screen in any of the video areas.

Would appreciate any suggestions to solve.

    Mrwrightrl,

This problem has been successfully resolved by HP nearly 12 months ago.  There is nothing wrong with my monitor is.

It's a graphics card from Nvidia to the wrong address.  I was satisfiled with my HP and support products.

    Hi Melissa,

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         Have you checked the issue by connecting a different monitor?

Step 1: It seems to be a hardware issue to me. Check if the cables are well connected.

Step 2: Connect another monitor to the computer and see if the problem persists.
