How can I encode this file name or a folder in Greek character?
Concerning

Hi HddRecovery,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Communities. The problem description, I understand you want to encode the file name or folder in Greek character.

I suggest you to select UNICODE in the drop-down list the type of encoding while you save the file. It will retain the same language, or else it will convert it to the format of ANSI code.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more assistance.

Thank you.

  • Problem with Greek characters in Oracle 11 g

    Hello

I have an Oracle 11 g only express Edition installed on my Windows 7 64 bit machine, and I store the Greek characters inside.

The characters appear well on SQL Developer.

But when I connect it to my php using PDO I get? instead of Greek characters.

    I've set nls_lang in the GREEK_GREECE register. EL8MSWIN1253

But when I run select * from nls_database_parameters, I get the following.

    Also, when I connect with the pdo function I use this command: $pdo_string = 'oci:host ='. $this-> server.'; dbname ='. $cette database->.'; = AL32UTF8 charset';

    Any ideas on that?
    Any help will be appreciated.

There is no csscan or csalter to XE. You are not allowed to use them. XE is Unicode only by its design. Instead of trying the methods not supported, why not just store Greek in Unicode (AL32UTF8) as it should.

  • Cannot store Greek characters in the NVARCHAR2 columns

    Can someone please.

I have a TEST table with a column of type NVARCHAR2 (20) and when I try to insert the Greek character Ω (Omega) - gets stored as O instead.

I am inserting using SQL Developer, using the prefix "n" and my environment is as follows:

    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production
    NLS_CHARACTERSET = WE8MSWIN1252
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET = AL16UTF16

    NLS_LANG setting client-side is ENGLISH_UNITED KINGDOM. WE8MSWIN1252.

Why can I not enter the Greek characters with the above configuration, and what do I need to do or change in order to include Greek characters in a database by using the national character set to store unicode data?

In this case, found on the same chapter of the doc, you may need to set ORA_NCHAR_LITERAL_REPLACE and make sure your app OIC (no jdbc) picks up as a result.

  • Greek characters like?

Hi, I have a website hosted by a provider which provides web hosting, coldfusion and mySQL.
My .cfm pages are in Greek letters, and I use a database of mySQL with Greek letters in the fields.
Before I posted this site I developed it locally using local coldfusion and mySQL servers and the .cfm page displayed correctly (in Greek), static text, and dynamic text that is extracted from the data base mySQL Greek.
After I posted I see Greek static text but? for dynamic text which is from my database.
Of course, I can't change system variables on the mySQL server on my host for the reason that it is shared.
Through cf documentation I discuvered ways to manipulate the connection with the database dictate the character set to use for transactions. All my efforts have come to the same? for dynamic text.
I would like to add that my database is utf8 and tables inside.
Is there any code that I include in my .cfm page so I can have the dynamic Greek text display correctly?

I'd appreciate it really answers useful.

    OK guys!
Well I have solved my problem! My Greek characters display correctly in both read and write transactions with the mySQL server.
Actually, after waiting 2 weeks, I had my landline number SYSADMIN of my host.
Generally in unmanaged servers - such as dealing with my coldfusion site - do NOT change you anything. Not even you scripts internationalization work and override what is defined on the server.
So I had to ask the SysAdmin of the host to make the settings for me.
As concerns ODBC and JDBC, I just answer the expert guy who posted this notice, I always use the ODBC and the excellent work of my Greek characters. So, I guess the real path to the solution wasn't changing ODBC to JDBC to solve my problem.
Anyway guys, thank you all for your interest and take care!
    * PS to the guy w / Asian: just tell your host your question if you post online, or try to change your server mySQL or google on the internationalization variables in macromedia/adobe web page.

  • How to see the Greek characters inside a report PDF (made with XML Publisher)

    Hello
I just patched my e Business Suite (ver. 11.5.9) in order to use XML Publisher 5.6.3.
It works fine, but I have a big problem when I want to see Greek characters inside my report; rather than see the Greek characters, I see only "?"

I tried to add some fonts under the responsibility of the administrator of the XML Publisher after the Doc ID: 373377.1 'How to install a font using XML Publisher administrator', but my problem remains intact: I do not see my Greek characters

Do I need to add all the other fonts on the file system? and where? (under what path), or I put something at the level of responsibility XML Publisher administrator (under the Administration link)?

Any help will be appreciated, because it is very urgent to know how to solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Alex

    Alex,

Check the value of the variable $AF_CLASSPATH, then make sure that JRE_TOP/lib/fonts belongs to this variable env (in addition to $CLASSPATH).

  • Delta and other Greek characters that can be used in file names

A client wants to know if she can use delta and some other Greek letters as characters for folder or filenames in Windows Explorer.  We have Windows 7 64-bit machines.

If so, how it will make them appear?  It's alt + a different number?

You can actually find those who use the character map as well.  If you click on the "Advanced view" check box, you can search for a character by name.  Here is where I looked for a 'more' and found the sign "more negative" that you mentioned.

After that you find, when you highlight the symbol in the upper part, the code hits will be shown below, if there is one.  Some symbols (probably the majority) do not have a code of strike.

  • BUG? UTF-8 not Latin database of characters in the export csv IR file right of export

    Hello

I have this problem: my database character set is UTF-8 (AL32UTF8) and contains data in a table that is used in IR are Greek (not Latin). While I can see them displayed correctly in IR and also through select / in the object browser SQL Workshop when I try to download as csv csv product has no Greek characters exported correctly, while Latin are ok.

This problem is the same if I try IE or Firefox. Also export to HTML works successfully and I see Greek characters it correctly!

Is there any problem with UTF-8 characters, not latins in export to CSV from IRs? Anyone can confirm this, or has a problem of similar export with UTF-8 DB and not Latin characters?
How could I solve this problem?

    TIA

    Hi MS,

I modified your application, change the main language of the Application into English and I set automatic encoding of CSV to no.

Now when I run the page 8 in your application and I download in CSV format, it is correctly encoded in UTF - 8. Of course, when my version of Excel it opens it directly, the characters appear corrupt again because my version of Excel is waiting for windows-1252 encoding. However, if I import the data into Excel (data-> text), and I chose the file origin of 65001: Unicode (UTF-8), all data appears correctly.

+ > having different things on screen and in the file portrays CSV file is a bug, not a feature. +

I have now adjusted your application settings so that "what is represented in CSV are equal" and so it's not a bug in the APEX.

  • HELP - I lost my Arial Greek - any ideas

I've been test driving deep InDesign CS4 for a week or two, because I can no longer print my documents with Greek words for most of the English text in PageMaker 6.5 on new Post Script Xerox printer.  At first, he was happy to see that the Greek text is supported & converts on a PDF file & print corrctly both on the ch & old printers.

Today I tried to find the symbol of the Euro - it of on my keyboard and works with all other software with Ctrl, Alt 4 - but I used to have a conversion to PDF problem (had to use old computer with Windows 98 for the Greek text in PDF files for our printer anyway since Windows 2000 and that has also managed the euros.)

Found a solution using Adobe (possibly) talk to me using Alt Gr €4 - what works in InDesign and print correctly and creates correct PDFS.  There was a suggestion that he might disturb "rip" which I think my printers 'do' when they order our books, so put on the creation of a test document with €, Greek & UK accents - SUDDENLY FOUND MY GREEK CHARACTERS ARE now ENGLISH.

My Control Panel is set to the Greek keyboard alternative & language and it still worked on the e-mail text and PageMaker (EL - for Elada appears in my Panel of lower status) but InDesign shows only English Arial characters now when I'm in Greek mode.  Also here now - this last paragraph was typed in EL/Greek mode!  -tested just PM & Internet again and they also now lost Greek since I quit and restarted my computer. Thought they can reset things!   Now he doesn't go anywhere.

PageMaker shows Arial Arial, Arial Greek, Nrrow, etc. as separate 'fonts', InDesign showed simply Arial for the character as Word always.

I was pressing all kinds of combinations of Ctrl, Alt, Shift, AltGr and numbers and try to put in place an alternative keystroke to get the € and are looking for "Glyphs" to test. I disabled Greek with a strange combination of accidental keystrokes?  ANY IDEAS ANYONE?

It is VERY important to me because we are Greek-o-file so I need the Greek text!

(?? You aren't the only one with software to malfunction. I pressed 'Reply', got up to change the TV channel, sat down and I was logged on the forum. W-H-Y? [He give me a few extra minutes to think.])

InDesign is blissfully ignorant of any keyboard and/or kb coding the computer can be connected to, it follows the global system parameters. It is also suggested by the Act of disappearance in your other programs. Therefore, I would say that you check your system settings. Windows: Settings, Control Panel, then any and all of the keyboard, the task bar (could have stopped any toggle button) and of course regional and Language Options.

See a list of fonts "Arial Greek" is the hallmark of a poorly programmed, the ehm program. In fact, the Arial font contains the characters on the right for dozens of different languages. Older versions of Windows are rigged to limit the character support to only 256 characters by 'real' police, so that it checks to see which characters are needed for Greek and generates a virtual font for it. Using InDesign, you don't have to worry about that - all the characters in each font are always selectable, and ID depends on the user to use keyboard right settings.
