Grey ringer volume control

I have a Z3 Compact with Android 5.1.1. The problem is that I can not change the ring volume. I don't have any other sound problems. As you can see from the screenshot, the ringtone volume control is grayed out. Any idea what could be the problem?

You may need to perform a repair of software using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1 to 2 hours until the device has so at least 80% battery.

Make sure that the device is not connected to the computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press the power button / stop and volume until what the machine vibrates 3 times or on some devices, it must push the small button near the tray on the back of the camera or SIM).

Open PC companion-> support area-> update phone software / Tablet-> repair my phone/Tablet blue highlighted. Follow the steps, do not plug your phone until you are prompted to press volume down while plugging in the USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you may need to run Windows 7 compatibility mode (in some cases XP).

  • Volume buttons control only the ringer volume

It seems that the volume buttons on the side of the phone just control the ringer volume. On other Android phones, ringtone and Notification volumes have been linked together for ease of use.

On the Droid Ultra/Maxx, there are four different volumes: media, ringtones, Notifications, and alarms. And none of them are interconnected. It is extremely annoying for many reasons, the main reason being there is no easy way to lower or increase the volume of ringtone and Notifications at the same time by using the volume buttons.

The ring volume is adjustable to the max, but the text message sound will be very quiet. Or the ring volume can be set down, but text message noise will be very strong.

Is it possible to fix this?

  • Lack of volume control and Greyed out in the taskbar properties

Until recently (past two months) it was never a problem.  When I bought this computer there nearly two years, I created my taskbar which included my volume control.  He has been there since then.  I have Vista, Service Pack 2.

I have not changed hardware.  But in the last two months my volume control dissappers of the taskbar every once in a while and when I go into the taskbar properties, the control volume is grayed.  It's VERY frustrating because I can't find another way to implement volume control.  Fortunately I have a volume control key on my keyboard and use it when necessary.

I did a search about this problem and see that a lot of people have the same problem.  WHY?  If this happens due to Windows updates, why didn't this problem been taken care of.  Some of the complaints I've seen in my research were two years old.

    Frustrated.  Please do stop.

  • Treo800w does not use the ringer volume, I put

I have my "phone: known caller ' setting on the standard Treo ringtone type ringer which is preinstalled on the Treo800w." I have the 'ring type' in the Ring, but no matter how high or low, I set the ring volume, that sounds only when the volume control low when a call comes in.  He is so weak that I miss basically every call. I tried to change other ringtones and the same thing happens.  The ringtone seems to work fine when the ringing type is set to 'Increase the circle' but that started to be so weak that it increases not the ringer volume enough before the call to your voicemail.  I need my ringtone to use a volume of your relatively high ring setting. Everyone knows this?  If so, what do you have to solve?

I got an answer to this, of Paulcalif, in another thread: "have you tried"restart"by removing the battery and put it back in.. ' Try adjusting the volume all the way first, then it reboot. »

Lil Red: This seems to have worked even though I still think that there is a bug in the software.  If I set the ring volume to a different volume level, the phone doesn't seem to not answer. Well, as long as it sounds strong and most of the time, I'm good to go.

  • volume control problems

No matter how I set the ring volume setting, it always seems either very low or almost OFF slip back.  I have the volume control app and which does nothing.  Sometimes, I know that I get a phone call because sometimes I look down and see the icon or picture on the front plate.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Someone at - he had and know how to solve?

    Thanks in advance.

There is also a nice little app called RingGuard (not sure of the second 'g') who will ask you to confirm a change of volume if do you leave the side buttons. If you do not have to confim, it undoes the change.

  • There are three applications of volume control? Which one?

I'm looking for a new application of volume control.  There are three applications, its named aptly (like a good play on words) of the volume.  I know that several people have recommended an app called volume control, I don't know which!  I downloaded RingGuard, but it is not stable.  Doesn'r always my ringtone.  When I think that I have the volume up and all of a sudden, I look down and it vibrates on the desktop with no ring but a happy face watching me upwards!

So, I thought I'd try the volume control.

It turns out that RingGuard works very well on the phone from Linda.  She is missing calls because another application has set the volume to 0.  RingGuard no is not asking to confirm when he sees the volume has been set to 0, and 'ringtone mode' is 'normal' instead of 'silent '.  You can get this combination through the volume switch, so RingGuard know.

  • IOS App Remote - Volume control issues

OK, so I downloaded the app recently released for Apple TV IOS. Everything works as expected, except the inconsistent Volume control.

I have two Vizio TVs in my house - E701i-A3 and models M401i-A3. The volume via IOS app works perfectly on my E701i-A3 - pressing iPhone volume buttons triggers change in volume on the soundbar attached to this set.

No luck with my M401i-A3 not set - by pressing the volume iPhone buttons does cause changes in local ringtone volume iPhone... that tells me something is not right with audio control EAC between ATV4 and the TV set. I do not use soundbar with this set - internal speakers only.

Both sets are running the latest firmware of Vizio and CEC/audio is enabled. No problem to control the volume or turn the sets/turn off via the remote Siri material.

Kind of ideas here... anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be with my Vizio M401i-A3 defined? Someone at - it got IOS volume remote control works with other models of TV?

Volume control requires HDM - CEC to ensure compatibility. It is quite possible that only one of your TV is compatible.
