Group Policy Editor/MMC could not create snap / Windows 8

Hi, I need to enter in the Group Policy Editor to fix something with my Tablet wacom graphic, but I can't do it. When I finally understood how to reach by searching my computer all, he told me THAT MMC could not create snap-in. How can I fix it

What edition of Windows 8 do you have?  You must be at least Windows 8 Pro to access the Group Policy Editor.

What is the thing (description) you want to disable, maybe it is possible via the registry?

Tell us what you want to disable?  Is this something like that?

How to disable the circles to click?

    Hello

Gpedit.msc is not available in Windows 7 Home premium.

It is available in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions of Windows 7 Enterprise.

If you want to disable caching of thumbnails, you can access the registry editor and go to changing the location according to the value

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\DisableThumbnailCache

Set it to 1 to disable the cache

To do: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • MMC could not create the snap-in when you run the Scheduler of tasks or event viewer

Event Viewer and Task Scheduler are not running.

Error returned is: mmc could not create the snap

Someone knows how to solve this problem, I searched and tried everything I can find and it still doesn't work.

can someone tell me the conditions required for the event viewer for work so I can check?

I managed to solve this problem in this way on my Windows Server 2008 SP2:

    1. navigate to the following directory:

    For x 64:

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\CONFIG

    For x 86:

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG

2 backup 'machine.config' file from somewhere, just in case before you continue.

3 Rename the machine.config file to machine.config.old in the directory above.

    Fixed a problem!

  • MMC could not create the snap.

Whenever I am trying to change some local security policies I get this message, "MMC could not create the snap" and I can't navigate any further. How can I fix?

    Hello

    ·        Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

    ·        What is the exact error that you are experiencing?

I suggest you to check in the event viewer for error logs and let us know the error. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

    Open event viewer

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

For the snap to work properly on the system, you should have the .net framework is installed correctly on the system. Check in the installed updates, what version of the .net framework is installed on the system and whether it is installed correctly.

See the Windows updates are installed

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

I cause the phone to crash in order to activate the Windows repair program.  It works but the custody of Norton is disabled. A program Norton Repair heals so that the fault.

I had several chat sessions with Norton, but they now point me to Microsoft saying that it is a Windows program that is related to Norton.

    Hi ColinAW,

Your computer is connected to a domain?

The question could be linked to the program Norton himself. I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Disable Norton Security software; Follow the steps mentioned in the link below

    Disable antivirus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important: Activate security software once everything is done.

Step 2: The computer in the boot and a test

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

If this problem occurs only updated Norton software, of course, the problem is related to the Norton software, and you can check with Norton again for any patches to address this issue.

Hi Jenny.  Try to run the System File Checker.  Click Start and type cmd in the box "search programs and files". Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Once the command prompt opens, type "sfc/scannow" without the quotes and press ENTER.  The System File Checker will start. It might take some time to complete so please be patient. Reboot when finished and let us know if this helped.
