Thank you

Given that the request was made when Windows XP was again, you can try running the application in compatibility mode. You can check the link for more information for more information:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/make-older-programs-run#1TC=Windows-7

If that does not work, chances are the application depends on some legacy components of Windows XP, which are missing in Windows 7. Therefore, check with the developer to get a version compatible with Windows 7.

    If the laptop is unable to switch to the home Toshiba screen then I presume that the BIOS has detected a hardware problem.

  • Envy 17 j120na: 10 Windows will not start because of the driver installation failed

    History:

    I have a computer laptop j120na Envy 17 that came with windows 8.1.

    I did the free upgride for windows 10 the 18th of this month with success, but because I was not able to decrease or increase the brightness of my computer, or put it to sleep, I realized that I still had to download/update drivers. First I updated the driver GeForce since my SWsetup folder but for the other, I searched online for her, then I saw the driver download progress bar but no progress has been made. I closed the dialog close and there you go, laptop does not start, I just saw a spark between the mouse pointer and the circular blue contraption. Sometimes he shows me a BSOD with lock core auto boost with irql higher acquisition.

    Question:

    Is this a problem with the driver installation? And if so, how do I return it?

    P.s: System Restore is not an option, I restore point.

    Hi there @Aj1baba,

    Thank you for joining the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and assistance of HP and the community! I read your post on the Forums of HP Support. I wanted to join you and help! I understand that you are receiving an error message that says "acquisition of lock core auto boost with irql high ' on your HP ENVY 17-j120na Notebook PC.

    The question could be deemed to occur by downloading the update. It is difficult to say at this stage. As to return to it, your best bet would have been the restoration of the system, but you mentioned only that a system restore does not work because you do not have restore points.

    Have you tried to go into Safe Mode?

    You have media or recovery disk?

    Have you tried to do a Reset BIOS?

    Have you tried perform a hard reset?

    You have beep codes or flashing LEDs?

    Please ensure that all Bluetooth device that you use with the laptop is disabled (including mobile phone).

    Please note: delete all USB/Bluetooth devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

    You can update all your drivers by going to the Web site the driver HP or by using the HP Support Assistant. If you enter Safe Mode, I suggest trying to erase the driver that you have downloaded your downloads (or the folder that you saved it in), so I suggest to make updates using updates of Windows or HP Support Assistant for now.

  • Ran Disk - finished - Restart - Recovery does not start

    I had a problem with my HP DV7 - 4069WM Notebook PC, and I was only left with one choice. Order and use the recovery disc. I got the recovery disk and it ran; Then it said that the recovery is over and it restarts. After reboot, it is, it does not start, it's just stuck on the HP logo. I have try the ESC, F keys keys #, the only feedback I get is these error noises. Help.

    Hello:

    If you remove / unplug the secondary HARD drive the PC gets stuck on the home screen?

    You can try to install W7 using this workaround solution.

    If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

    Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

    Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

    The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

    Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

    Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Restart-VMHost does not work after unplug the vCenter

    Hello

    Hope someone can help me with this.

    The restart-VMHost does not work in my script. The output says vCenter connection error is required by the current operation. The connection does not exist, perhaps because it was actively closed or expired.

    What I try to achieve in the next script is all virtual machines stop and then restart the host. Since the vCenter is a virtual machine that needs to be stopped. If the script connects to each guests instead of vCenter

    SE connect-VIServer-get server #to "vcenter01", a list of hosts before stopping the vCenter
    $hostlist = get-VMHost
    Disconnect-VIServer *-confirm: $false

    {foreach ($string in $hostlist)
    SE connect-VIserver-server $string - user 'root' - password "abcd".
    }

    $vmlist = get - VM

    {Foreach ($vm to $vmlist)
    write-host 'Shutting down $vm' - blue BackgroundColor - ForegroundColor white
    $vm | Stop-VMGuest-confirm: $false
    }

    Sleep 10

    {foreach ($path in $hostlist)

    Restart-VMHost $path - force - confirm: $false
    write-host "$path restart" - blue BackgroundColor - ForegroundColor white
    }

    I suspect that the message could be caused by the parameter that you pass to the Restart-VMHost cmdlet.

    You use the retrieved by Get-VMHost VMHost object when you are connected to the vCenter.

    You can try this part of the code as follows

    ....

    {foreach ($path in $hostlist)

    Restart-VMHost $path. Name - force - confirm: $false
    write-host "$path restart" - blue BackgroundColor - ForegroundColor white
    }

  • Windows does not start after the installation of NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500. Help!

    Before, I had a Sparkle GeForce2 MX400 64 MB AGP Graphics Card with the installed driver. I have not had any problems with him, but I need to upgrade, so I got a NVIDIA Inno3D GeForce FX5500 256 MB 128 bit AGP graphics card. So, the thing is, before I installed the driver for it, the computer was working fine, but of course I can't play games. So I downloaded the driver from NVIDIA (175,19 I think), and I installed it in safe mode to avoid any conflict with my antivirus. The installation is complete, and the system restarted. Everything was going well until after the windows logo (by the way, I'm on Windows XP Pro SP3), when the system crashed all of a sudden. The screen turns off, the unit of the system itself was still on, but it does not. I tried enabling / disabling the NumLock, CapsLock button to check if there is an answer, but I have nothing. I manually turned the computer off, waited for about 3 minutes, the market again, but again, the system crashes after the screen Logo of Windows XP. I started in SafeMode again, uninstalled the NVIDIA driver, restart the system and everything went back to normal. I retried my old 64 MB AGP card and it still works fine. I really need to install the driver to make the most of my 256 MB graphics card. Can anyone help please?
    So far I did the following:
    1. re-installed Windows XP
    2 re-installed the driver NVIDIA about 5 times already.
    3. update all the drivers of my motherboard.
    4. completely removed all traces of NVIDIA using Drive Cleaner and put it back.
    5 installed DirectX 9.0.
    Still, none of them worked. Help!

    Here are my computer specs:
    OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
    Motherboard: ECS 661FX-M rev 1. 0 b
    Processor: Pentium 4 2.4 GHz
    RAM: 768 MB
    HARD drive: 1x80GB IDE slave, 1x20GB IDE Master
    BIOS: Phoenix Tech, LTD 6.00 PG 01/18/2006 v2.2
    Antivirus: Avast free Antivirus v6

    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! :)

    PS: I know that my computer is really old. But please don't advise me to upgrade the entire computer or something like that. I can't afford to buy right now a new. Thank you.

    Hello

    I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if you can start.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    If you are able to start the computer in safe mode, then go to Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for the graphics card and restart the computer.

    If it boots fine in normal mode and then try to install the latest drivers in normal mode and check if that helps.

    Check if that helps.

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
  • The installation of SP1 for Vista and now windows does not start.
    Windows Update prompted me to install SP1. (I think I already did, but thot, it was another update so let him). In the installation, I got an error:! oxc0000034! 442/90216 ($$ _System32_Reminst_boot_x86_pt_br_e2ba0ac...) I rebooted and ran the Startup Repair. After he runs Windows continues to start and then screen works in black with text of registry and gets stuck or feezes on the line above again.
    Hi jiowa,
    Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft answers you!
    I suggest you try the following steps:
    Remove the entry from the SetupExecute, value poqexec to do this, follow the steps mentioned in the article below:
    Your computer may freeze or it may restart to a black screen that has an 0xc0000034 error message after you install a service pack for Windows Vista
    Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.   • ENVY M6 - 1184ca: 8.1 for Windows does not start after the installation of update KB2919355
    Updating Windows 8.1 KB2919355 has proved to be extremely problematic for me. When he was released at the beginning of 2014 that I was not able to get installed it with the exception of two occasions, the first being several months ago and the second time, a few days ago. I have constant pain to try to get the update of KB2919355 until recently. What finally got the update installed was opened as administrator command prompt and type the following commands,
    DISM/Online/Remove - Package PackageNameackage_for_KB2919355 ~ 31bf3856ad364e35 ~ amd64 ~ ~ 6.3.1.14
    and then
    DISM / online/cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
    So now, the update of KB2919355 has been installed. Only one problem: like the first time I had the installed, Windows Update leave commissioning. As the HP splash screen that normally appears during the startup process appears after about 3 seconds, Windows displays an error Stop, and for a fraction of a second will display SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error, which as I read, is related to the graphics drivers. The thing is, after the cancellation of the update (the computer in Mode safe start put Windows automatically uninstall the update and everything goes well after), then go in and uninstall the graphics driver, restart, reinstall the graphics driver and reboot again, and then reinstall the KB2919355 update, the problem recurs. I also tried to download and to install the new update of firmware for my particular DESIRE machine which was released a few days ago, but which has not helped either.
    I'm really stuck. I looked up and down, and I scoured Internet for anything that might help. I need to update KB2919355 be installed because without it, I can't book my free upgrade of Windows 10. This laptop is about 2 years and a half old now, so it fulfills all the prerequisites for Windows 10.
    Please do not suggest that I do a Refresh of the system or a system reset, as I have no way to back up my programs, that which some I would not be able to reinstall because I have more drives for some of my programs. Also, I can lose to save him for some of my games.
    When people ask me "What's up?", I always say 'the CAP '.
    So that seems to have solved the problem that is described in this post here. I followed the suggestion, which was to uninstall the driver, SPDT DuplexSecure (which has something to do with the SCSI devices, I'm not quite sure) using the SPDTinst (download here) and now it seems that Windows has started without crashing after installing the update KB2919355. I'll check my Windows Update history and see if it is there.
    Low and behold, a year to be really behind value is ultimately more. I have successfully obtained the update of KB2919355 works on my computer.
  • Windows does not start after update, but starts in safe mode
    last night my laptop set to day, I turned it off and when I started today he went straight to the safe mode selection screen. I chose to start in normal mode where it just went to blue screen, just a flash so I couldn't read what is on it and then restarted itself. I then chose safe mode with network boot and he finished making the update without problem, so I rebooted and tried to start up normally, but still it restarted itself, so I went back to safe mode which is what Im use it as today.
    as far as I know that it does not crush power or coward during the update and cannot think it's updating itself that causes the problem. Ive tried to do a system restore but it says theres no restore to restore points.
    Can someone please help me because running in safe mode is maddening as theres no graphics driver and the resolution is horrible.
    Thanks in advance
  • Windows does not start correctly when some multiple connection for external hard drive USB hubs are connected
    When starting, I have 2 USB hubs that connect to multiple external HD.
    If I disconnect the hubs, windows always starts very well.
    If I connect the HUB, windows delayed considerably the boot (approximately 5 to 10 minutes) and sometimes restarts the PC before getting to the screen of windows login, and after that the Windows logo is displayed during the start-up phase.
    Some HD sometimes take to start I hear but why Windows is restarted and all simply just do not excluding the HD or hubs does not not as expected?
    Any clue?
    Hello Patrick,.
    If other devices are working well, then clearly the USB ports have gone very well. I would say more that likely you have two defective USB Hub (it happens, I have several other defective in my junk mail boxes!).
    Given that the hubs are relatively expensive, I suggest you replace the two hubs with more heavy duty those able to withstand the high external HARD disk requirements. Try Newegg.com and TigerDirect.com, sort by best rating.
    The other thing, you don't mention if your hubs / ports are ports USB 3.0 and if you use a card like the adapter link. These configurations can sometimes cause problems, and it might be useful to re - check the different connections.
    Keep me posted.
    And thanks a lot for this.
    Kind regards
