  It's an idea.  A few months ago I downloaded Broadcom.com fresh Bluetooth drivers for my laptop Sony VAIO Windows 7 x 64.  Just in case, because I don't use Bluetooth at all so far.   There is a Guide to Broadcom Wireless Bluetooth in my folder Bluetooth in the start menu, maybe you have also.  You could also ask a Sony VAIO support forum, or even to buy the mouse USB cable is cheaper than you can get up to find a solution for your wireless mouse.  No kidding, without cable you'll need a battery.

  If the shuffle still appears in iTunes when you connect, you can try to do a restore using iTunes, where the cause is a software problem.

  So I'm working on a LT desire that has been upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 recently and it is this message on the login screen "the device is not connected to the computer.   Seems to have been resolved in re - install the software HP Simple pass then go and reconfigure the settings. Message no longer appears on 10. User LT installed with 7 however. Best decision.

  The problem solved itself, Thunderbird has just started working. I followed the thread suggested by Christ1 and found none of it applied. No malware, no browser, no certificate error security block. I did, however, in Thunderbird, under Tools/Options/General uncheck the button for "When Thunderbird launches, show the Start Page in the message box." I do know that if this helped, Thunderbird still do not access Comcast mail for hours after that, even with several stops and restarts.
