H9 SCSI Disk Device

My desktop computer HP Pavilion HPE h9 - 1215t Phoenix CTO has a hard drive WD 2 .0TB with the C drive, containing the Windows 7 operating system.  There is also a SCSI disk (MTFDDAK2 MTFDDAK256MAM - 1 K).

What is the SCSI drive?

"My H9 is an h9 - 1215t and the SSD 256 GB is not recognized when I go into computer, management of disk storage management."
Computer Management displays:

Disk 0 (basic 238.35 GB online) with 3 partitions; No name 100 MB EFI system Parition
OS (C: 227,71 GB) and HP_Recovery (D: 10.54 GB NTFS).
---
DISK 0 - it's essential / Micron (256 GB) Solid State Drive (SSD) with 3 partitions.
DISC 1 - it's your drive Western Digital hard (2 TB).
---
MS Windows 8.1 with UEFI and Secure Boot is significantly faster (almost compressed as) than MS Windows 7.
I don't know how this specific HP computer was (originally installed) installation.

You have applied the update driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST)?

This server is running out of space on hard drives, 2 x 500 GB RAID1.  I want to wear it to 2x1To.

At startup and Ctrl-f shows 2-500 GB in RAID1 disks.

What is the right way to do this?

I can stop and remove one of the 500 GB disks and replace it with a 1 to and let it rebuild once completed, repeat the same process?  Afterwards to have 2x1To in place that are synchronized, bootable and functional.

N ° it is part of the hidden cost of buying low-end equipment. If you had a PERC 6/7, you could do it, but not with the SAS 5/6, which is very low end, material basis.

    rdurham
It will take at least 24 hours to drive new format and sync and probably another 2-3 hours to restore if not more.

You insert the new larger disks, configure RAID 1 and then restore your backup to it. You do NOT normally have to wait for it to completely initialize.

So is it possible for vSphere CLI through which we can tell if the SCSI disk device can be used as ROW or NOT?

and what parameter defined as capable of RDM?

    Thank you

    Chandra Sekhar P.

    Hi Chandra,

In order to get the SCSI LUNS that can serve as RDM, you must use the QueryConfigTarget method. This method is defined on EnvironmentBrowser. You need to recover some EnvironmentBrowser object ComputeResource the HostSystem where the virtual machine is created. The configTarget.ScsiDisk returned after the method call contains the logic unit number information that is capable of RDM.

    I hope this helps!

  • HyperDrive 5 and 'fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device.

    Colleagues ESX - ers,

I think to buy a very fast RAM-disk, the "HyperDrive5", in:

    http://www.hyperossystems.co.UK/

It is fully compatible SATAII (and therefore must be recognized by my E200 very well). It is, will be virtualization ESX 3.5 as SCSI drive slow down questions too? My server lists current as disc:

da0: fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device

    da0: 320,000 MB/s transfers (160,000 MHz, offset 127, 16-bit),

    Tagged Queueing active

Thus, when you buy the ramdisk, fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 unit of Vmware will be the bottleneck? Or it dimensionnera upward, in speed, according to the new features of the psycical (much faster) of the RAM disk?

    Hello

If it works fine, but SAS, SATA, SCSI and RAM all have different performance characteristics. It will not change the other. The controller will be your factor limiting.

  • Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F SCSI CdRom Device) because the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Original title: the answer useful?

Help, please! Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F SCSI CdRom Device) because the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Hello

Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

A few years ago I tried to solve the problem and that I can remember other users had the same problem and the driver update has been recommended, but I also discovered that the support for this product is complete, and I couldn't find all the archives. I dropped.

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Windows 7 cannot see is not my SCSI disks when I try to install. As the IDE drive is showen but is not usable. Is there a FDISK program that can be run to solve this problem from a command promt?

    Hello

You try to access BIOS and change the SCSI to IDE in the BIOS or Raid in IDE and try to install Windows 7.

If it fails, contact your SCSI manufacturer for the latest drivers for your SCSI and install it by clicking on load drivers and try to install Windows 7.

    Hope this helps and works.

In addition, the device seems to be attached to the vmrawdsk service, which does not exist on the server. These virtual machines were not P2V, they have been created since iso win.

One guess what it is and how I might be able to fix it?

I got it on a working server my copy on the file vmrawdsk.sys missing a server well-known, uninstall VMware Tools, restart, reinstall it and restart again. Then the VMware Vista support physical disk device / service vmrawdisk are working normally.

Yes, it is possible with discs thin provisioned too.

Basically you will ensure that the VM has no snapshots, increase the drive to the desired size in the virtual machine properties editor and then use the measure of volume inside the windows disk management console.
