HALO for pc

I have HALO for pc, it worked fine on windows 7, but I had a problem with my computer, he had fixed to the now, the game installs but does not run. I tried several options compatible windows xp 2, xp3, windows 98 and windows 7, all with the same result. Thank you

Gary

If you have just reinstalled your Windows 7 to fix it, or been taken with all the updates of Windows, you may have installed KB3086255.  This blocks many older games, including games from Microsoft.

Microsoft has published information on how to bypass the update, temporarily or permanently here:

  • How to create a gradient halo for web "master page".

    In collaboration with PS CS5.5.

I need to create a background image x 650px 1000px for a web application. I wish that the size of the resulting (PNG) file uploaded by the web site to be in the realm of 50 KB.

What is the general strategy for the creation of a gradient as the attachment?

Should I start with a solid background color and overlay the solid with a white gradient layer (Center being less transparent)... in my mind would result in the smallest size of file given I could decrease the resolution (of the exported PNG file) without any visible effect on the web page.

    Please advise,

    Bradbg.jpg

There may be several ways to do it, but you could make a round radial gradient layer, adjust it to your liking, then save in PNG and just resize to any size you like in the HTML code, which might get you the oval shape.  Or you can rasterize in Photoshop and save it as a version of "crushed" to a small possible savings in file size.

The gradient of 500 x 325 pixels above saved as a PNG image is about 50 KB.

It has been cropped, pixelated and crushed vertically and takes only 26 kb on disk.

  • Halo: Combat Evolved not install because af a failed copy in a10.map

    Hi Microsoft responds.

I recently tried to install Halo: Combat Evolved on my PC.

I entered the product key and it started to install, but after copyed 2% of the files, it stops at: a10.map

Here, he tells me he has a disk problem, and I need to check if the place I copy that it is already in use, which is not and check if I have enough disk space on the C: drive, what I'm doing.

    How can I fix it?

    Christian barks

I'll try running it in compatibility mode.

Most of the games are compatible with Win7. I know for a fact that halo is compatible, as I have on my win7 64 bit system and it works fine. It might be a problem with the actual CD.

If you have the cd key, you can download an .iso of the halo installation CD and allows to install it.

Or, if you intend to play Halo for the multiplayer, I would say get Halo: Custom Edition (requires a cd-key) here:http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=410

It's the same as Halo with 2 major differences. 1. you can not play the solo mode directly (the campaign is not displayed in the menu and the cards are not in the folder program files) and 2. personalized cards (as in all new cards, not only the cards that have been modded) can be played. There are many custom maps and they are very fun to play.

As I said you can not read 'directly' solo in Custom Edition, however it is possible. Just download campaign maps, here:http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=1&sid=35

These solo cards were made by mapping team CMT and include changes and improvements on the original maps (for example, vehicles and weapons of halo 2). Once you have downloaded the maps, turn on the console (go to the properties of the halo CE shortcut and add - console at the end of the target line.) Thus, for example, "C:\Users\Custom Edition.exe \Desktop\Halo" - console

Once the console is enabled, start the game, open the console with ~ (1 left) and type in map_name so for example map_name a10 for level 1.

If my explanation is not very good, there is also an article here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?nid=386

  • Halo 1 and Vista

So that the information of compatibility of Microsoft Vista Home Premium 64 - Bit tells me that Halo 1 is completely compatible, I have constant errors by trying to play online. I have found it a box "area of delay of doom" appears in the lower right of the screen (this box was running on my old computer, which had a terrible wireless card and virtually no signal). This Toshiba Satellite laptop is brand new and I tried to connect directly to the internet by cable, and it had no effect. The game is absolutely unplayable, and I can't find a reason why. Much more demanding games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare play perfectly fluently and I even tried to run 1 Halo in compatibility mode for XP SP2 with no luck. What is the disk that was used to install Halo 1? This is the only opportunity that I still look in because of the extra money that could be spent in vain if the drive is not the problem. I would have simply sent to Microsoft support. However, they seem to try either one scam by charging $59 for a conversation simple e-mail with a member of the support staff or try to dissuade us from asking questions that we run to Mac where not only they provide free technical support, but the people they hired seem to strive to make your Apple very pleasant support experience (I got in touch with them about the iPod several times)

Microsoft.com/games/Halo had a support page but no support by email of any kind. The support email link took back me to the Microsoft.com e-mail and support their attempt to scam me out of $ 59 I can't spend on support. The page known multiplayer issues did not, anyway, my problem. I will reiterate my problem:

Whenever I connect to a multiplayer game, after a short time, I start trolling at the point of the game is unplayable. My internet connection is perfectly well via laptop built in wireless. I tried to plug my computer directly to the internet by cable without effect. My ISP is Comcast Cable Internet so there is no problem of speed. My computer, via the wireless, is able to play much more demanding games such as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare quite fluently and without any problem of lag. I have a problem of bandwidth when other members of the family by the use of their laptops for download; However, I tried several times to play while I was alone in the House without result. The game is absolutely unplayable and I am sad at the idea of the game is a waste of money. On my old computer, a desktop computer with free Wi - Fi and a map much less graphic, Ram and processor, Halo has played perfectly fluent. This makes me think to it's some sort of setting on 64-bit Vista that causes this error and I would like to know the opportunities available for me to try.

I asked this question already. I was told to go to microsoft.com/games/halo. The second and third paragraph was my reply to the person who directed me to this Web page and I have yet to receive any response. I felt that the repost can be a more effective way to get a real answer. I'd like to get real advice instead of being redirected to another site which ends up being a dead-end.

    Hi lieb012,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

It is clearly a problem with the game itself and not the Internet or windows, since you can perfectly play other games. Perhaps some of the files used in this game could be damaged. It would also be that some third-party programs may interfere with the game while playing online. I need some information first

Do you get error during the game codes?

Have you tried to reinstall the game and check?

Is your computer up to date with all the latest windows updates and updates to halo?

If you see any errors I suggest you to check the event viewer for errors based on the program. The link below shows you how you can find errors related to a program or a game. Here support and online help could you suggest a few steps

    Open event viewer

    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/a99f69c1-935f-4116-ba5f-33d8800ef9da1033.mspx

I also suggest you to install all the latest updates and patches that should take care of most of the questions. You can click on the link and install v1.07 Halo Hot - Fix. The v1.07 Halo for Windows Hot - fix resolves a rare deadlock that could occur if a malicious individual (hacker) deliberately imitates a game server and sends invalid data on a server.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/games/halo/support.aspx#updates

If fails it step above, you may need to try a clean boot to see what third-party program is causing the game behind. Follow the steps below to clean boot procedures.

Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER. (If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.)

On the general tab, click Selective startup.

Under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

Click the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    Click OK.

When you are prompted, click on restart.

    Log on to your account.

    Test the game

If the problem does not reappear when your computer is in clean boot mode, a background program probably causes interference. You may need to update the program or uninstall program for this program works. You can try to determine which background program is causing the problem when the computer is in clean boot mode.

    ---------------------------------------------------

To find the process or program to cause follow the beginning steps to enable half of the points of service, in the following article:

How to perform a clean boot procedure to determine if background programs are interfering with a game or a program that you currently use

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

    ---------------------------------------------------

    To restore your Normal startup:

Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER. (If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.)

On the general tab, click Normal startup.

  • Question about a seminar on convergent media paper

    Hello

My name is Carina and I'm studying 'Film, TV and media production' in an Austrian University of applied sciences.

As part of the Conference 'Converging Technologies 101', I'm writing a paper seminar on "evolution of console video game in a convergent environment.  Xbox consoles being one of the most important and most famous games consoles, I find it absolutely necessary to write something about their history and their development.

That is why I wanted to ask, if you could give me information on the consoles themselves, their evolution in a convergent environment and why it is something that should be a centerpiece in any living room.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello Carina,.

Microsoft's Xbox is a more recent name on the video game console market. Critics of the Xbox thought that the console would never compare to the industry leaders. But years later, Microsoft's console has proved to be one of the first three video games consoles and showed that he is here to stay. The console's success is due, in part; the popular game 'Halo' franchise, which is exclusive to the Xbox game console.

    Announcement and demonstration.

On 10 March 2000, Bill Gates, CEO of Microsoft Corporation, has announced plans to make a new video game console during the Game Developers Conference of society. The Xbox was supposed to be three times more powerful than the console games video leader of the day. A few months later, Microsoft has shown that the Xbox could do the Conference E3 entertainment for a crowd. At this point, Microsoft had only tech demos and needed a game entirely show how the Xbox would work. Thus, at the Conference from E3, Microsoft and the developers of a dark but impressive game called Halo first get together for mutual benefit. Microsoft needed a game to fill an empty space in Xbox demo programming, and the developers of Halo for a big name to restart a program of advertising for their game.

    Xbox Gains support.

Before that the Xbox is officially released, Microsoft had received the support of more than 150 game developers, including two of the largest: EA and Sega. Due to the remarkable teamwork between Microsoft and EA, several Xbox games, including the NASCAR franchise, would be ready to be published before the release of the Xbox itself. Get support from Sega, gave players the Japan a reason to be interested in the Xbox.

    Release dates.

The original Xbox was released in North America on November 14, 2001. Despite Nintendo releasing the GameCube only three days later, Microsoft has sold over 1 million units in the first three weeks after the release date. It is a huge accomplishment, especially considering the critics who said that the console was too expensive and too ugly and that the controllers were too big. Because of the collaboration between Microsoft and game developing companies, several major label games such as "Halo" and "Dead or Alive 3" are released at the same time as consumers not only bought the Xbox console, but also several games.»

The game console was not as well received in the Japan. After the date of release in Japan on 22 February 2002, only 123 000 units sold in the first week, and many stores began updating the Xbox in the first month. In Europe, the Xbox has been most successful. Although slow to put on sale after the release date of March 14, 2002, the sales of Xbox quickly increased, helped by the popularity of the game "Halo."

Xbox console sales were more helped by a reduction just a month after the release of spectacular price. Microsoft dropped the price of the Xbox from $ 299 to $ 199, which brought the price to a level that could afford many households.

    Xbox Live.

In November 2002, a year after the release of the console Xbox, Microsoft began an online game service called Xbox Live. This service allows players to play with others around the world, as well as allowing consumers to download games on their Xbox console directly from the Internet. This service has proved popular, as in July 2005, Microsoft announced that 2 million players use the Xbox Live service.

    Xbox 360.

The successor to the original Xbox, called Xbox 360 was released on November 22, 2005. This release date was almost a full year before the other game to his generation consoles have been released. Controllers Xbox 360 Wireless features and compatibility with older games for the original Xbox.

    Today and tomorrow.

In February 2010, he has more than 23 million of players using the Xbox Live gaming service. The year 2010 is the best year in the history of Xbox games, due to the release of several games, including "Halo: Reach," which is the 'Halo' prequel, the best sale of the Xbox game franchise.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8130 pearl - my "downloads" icon help fix it please!

    Hello

I just got a brand new pearl 2 8130 this week. I have an icon called "downloads" that resembles a black 8130 with a yellow arrow passing through it, kind of looks like a Flash of lightning. Well, for those of you who have a bead, you know that in the list of applications (when you press the 'menu' button - the button to the left of the trackball with 7 points on it), when you move the trackball, it highlights all applications of a round yellow halo. for some reason any and it started yesterday, not when I got on the phone 3 days ago, when I move the trackball on the "downloads" icon, the icon is more surrounded by a yellow halo - instead, this icon is now a white rectangle. You can still see the picture of the phone with the flash of lightning, but he is always surrounded by a white rectangle, even when the trackball is not on it.

How can I fix it? It's driving me crazy. Why is it white? What should I do?

If you rarely use the interior applications, you can hide the folder and leave it on the bottom of your icons.

Just highlight the folder, then press menu select hide. If you need to use it, simply highlight and show all.

    Thank you

I installed Halo 2 on my Windows 7 64-bit computer.  When I try to run it, I get this error message:

"LIVE Gaming on Windows initialization failure. Maybe it's because an another LIVE Gaming on Windows application (for example the dedicated server Halo 2) is running on the same computer.  Otherwise reinstall the game may fix this problem. »

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but got the same message.  I am then went on the LIVE Gaming on Windows, downloaded the software and connected to it, then tried to run the game again - same error message.  I went to the support site for Microsoft Halo 2 and downloaded the last updated and tried to run the game - same error message.

I don't want to play this game as a multiplayer online, I just want to play the campaign solo mode.

I have installed and played several other games on this computer, since I upgraded to Windows 7, including Halo Combat Evolved.  How can I run Halo 2?

Update did not work for me, but my husband found this solution:

    GER bear:
The only way I found to play the game after installation of Windows 7 was to disconnect the internet cable before you choose the game to play after game starts to reconnect the cable... weird but it works...

It worked for me!  I pulled the power cord from the modem before starting the game.  He starts without a problem.  After it starts, I plugged the modem in.  I don't know if the Gaming Live runs from there, but at least I can play in campaign mode (which is what I wanted to do anyway).

  • Halo 2 for Vista.

Try to load Halo 2 for Vista and get a message that the game could not initialize and that maybe it's because another application of windows live gaming (such as halo 2 dedicated server can run on the same machine). If it's that I did not here. any ideas?

    Hi walby,.

This problem can occur for the following reasons:

    ·        A file in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Catroot2 folder is damaged.

    ·        The Cryptographic Services service is disabled.

    Try the following steps:

    i. first uninstall Halo 2, also uninstall everything related to Windows Live.

II. reinstall halo 2 from scratch

    III. start the game normally

IV. then follow the Windows Live installer according to the instructions

    v. when the Windows Live Update option comes to update and restart the game.

VI. connect to Windows Live, this will give you an option to update of Halo 2. Follow the instructions

  • Activation of Halo 2 for my PC after the upgrade

OK, I bought vista halo 2 when it first came out. I had this problem before and I'm really sick of this. OK so every year I improve my computer to new hardware well My Halo 2 cd key is passed invaild once again because of me the upgrade, I think it's because of nonsense that I can not upgrade my computer without having to discuss with microsoft to get another key or buy the game again that I'm going to make since I had already bought the game. There must be something I can do? If this isn't the case, then microsoft is ripping me off and if this is the case, I want my money back on this game because I spent $50 on a game and it doesn't even work. I have a legitimate copy, well it was legitimate, until I upgraded now its is no longer legitimate because you guys ripped me

  • Halo 2 for Windows Vista compatibility problems?

I have problems of execution of Halo 2 for Vista after installing it on my Windows 7 installation.  Whenever I start it, it immediately goes to "No answer" as soon as it loads.  I tried to start with the compatibility options for all versions of Vista (plain, sp1, and sp2) but nothing works.  It seems to freeze at the part where it loads in the Games for Windows Live components.  I saw elsewhere that people have problems with this and that by removing completely all Games for Windows games and executives charge then reinstall them with Halo 2 first worked.  This has not worked for me, and after some further experimentation, I decided to check if it was a hardware problem, so I did a clean install of Vista and had no problem if he started.  All my drivers are up to date, but I can't find any more away.  Any suggestions?
